About a year ago, my hunt for a webcam that mimicked the DSLR's cinematic quality led me to the Insta360 Link. It was a game-changer! Offering that coveted background blur and depth of field, it had everything - except portability. Fast forward to the release of the DJI Pocket 3, and it seems my camera dreams have been answered!

I have both and did this same comparison a few weeks ago. The Pocket 3 is definitely better in terms of quality but since it's not designed to be a webcam, it's not really the best choice imo. I noticed mine got SUPER hot (hotter than when doing a normal recording). It's good for this if you travel a lot but i wouldn't use it in a permanent setup. The Pocket 3 did have way better autofocus though.
DJI should take the Pocket 3's camera and make their own webcam. It would destroy the entire webcam market lol
I agree, after i filmed this the DJI Camera was really hot. I definitely dont recommend this for a perminate webcam setup. And you are right DJI should make a webcam with this same camera.
Good comparison
Pocket 3 quality is great as a webcam, I often use it as a livestream camera to sell on Facebook through OBS Software. The advice is that you should use a mini fan to blow on it, it will be very effective.
OMG i was looking for that comparison since the pocket 3 was out...
I search everywhere for that compression and no one did so i gave up... until that video pop up :)
I mainly wanted a good webcam but i thought to myself that it will be nice to take the camera out form time to time, so if the pocket 3 come close to the insta360 link i will pay the extra for that opinion..
but i was not impressed with it as a webcam mode from the sempels i have seen and really wanted to see them side by side, for some reason here it looks better than the insta360 link.
how the pocket 3 was connected to the OBS with the USB cable or as RTMP camera ?

The image quaility of pocket 3 is obviously better to me, with more details, but your footage looks kinda flat. The colors pop more when I use it indoor.

Thanks for the comparison and answering the question that you can use it as a webcam .Did you have any beauty filters on the DJI for skin smoothing. Any overheating issues using the DJI for extending shoots indoor as a static camera?
I did not have any filters on the DJI. And I did notice some overheating with the DJI, I don’t think the DJI will be a good Choice if you have to record for more than a hour.

Interesting comparison. The Pocket 3 is a beast for vlogging, but using it as just a webcam feels like a bit of a waste.
it over heats as a webcam, so i wouldn't recommend it for that use unless your in a pinch
