This is amazing work! I just discovered this channel today. I wanted to ask, are you painting directly on the canvas? If so, how did you manage to do this without adding gesso first? Also, I really like your technique and how you apply the paint. I've watched other painters on TH-cam and I don't really understand their technique and thought process, but your style is very direct. I also like how you show us where your references come from and how you set them up. All the others start painting as if the accurate forms and shadows just come magically out of their head, which is not true at all. Please keep making more videos!

WOW....that is simply wonderful. Interesting to watch as the painting is more of an 'illustration' and emerges from the end of the brush rather than being 'built' up in layers. Enjoyed watching this immensely and the style is quite different to most of what is on UTube. Many thanks.

@@ritchardwilliams3874 I'm glad you enjoyed it, I guess this is what happens when you're mostly self taught

@@KathyEllemBrushMiles Well, I am self taught and can only dream of being 1/100th as good as you. Your look to have a grid to help with a very detailed drawing but, even so, the perspective on such a large frame is brill. Just pure eye candy!

    Oil?

All this is OK, but when I see that an artist is afraid of colors and puts on gloves while drawing with oil paints, I think that he has totally missed the profession. Imagine Michael Schumacher hating cars or Michael Jordan hating basketball and sports... Hypocritical...

Mate, I think I'm the last person who hats colour, and I'm sure michael wears protective equipment racing. Sorry you feel that real art depends on what a person wears and not on the actual painting. Have fun with your perfection.

Ah yes, let's let heavy metals absorb into our skin... by the strength of their reasoning I suspect it has already happened.😅
      Lovely painting by the way.

im a life long artist; and now have cancer, which they attribute to the turp, and other chemicals as well as some heavy metals showing up in my liver, so the danger is real

What does the glove has to do with anything its not finger painting and also isn’t paint toxic if you paint for a living for years and years 😮
