He left the blade there to seal away the Titan as the Titan is basically Argent’s Icon of Sin and those things can’t technically die. But with the Crucible impaled within them, they are powerless and left immobile so long as the blade stays in. It’s also why DoomSlayer broke the blade from the handle, so it stays inside.
I like to think the slayer killed that demon with the sword and just remembered where he put it.
