Congrats on the new rig Tavis, just a fyi, the thumb button on the shifters are color coded for immediate reconition... i.e. black is 10sp, red is 13sp, blue is 15ps, and gray is 18sp. I started 7yrs ago this month with a cheap single axle daycab, ran frac tanks out of Wright Wy last week. I also have a Freightliner twin screw with a large flattop, and i'm currently working on putting a HS rig together. Not enough pay to run the twin screw this year, and it has been the most expensive truck to get working. ~Rob~
Thank you Rob! And I always wondered about the different colored splitters! Appreciate that little tidbit haha but I’ll be praying you get going with your hotshot setup! Hopefully it works out better than your twin screw!
That's exciting! Congratulations! I've been watching your videos for months while I was planning my Hotshot startup and have learned a lot from you. I went to truck driving school for three weeks to get my CDL and finished this past Friday. I enjoyed driving the big rigs so much, I was torn about whether to move forward with Hotshot or go ahead and buy a tractor. I ended up deciding to go forward with my original plan and pick up my Ram 3500 dually tomorrow, but I have a feeling I'll end up the same as you in a year or two. Best wishes and I hope to run into you on the road!
Thank you so much! I’m very excited! I appreciate the support on the channel and I’m glad it has helped. And I’m excited for your journey! Congrats on the CDL and I’m excited for your journey! It’ll be a good start to learn and then when you’re ready you’ll know to upgrade!
That’s awesome man!!! I’ve gone back and forth a thousand times on if I want to upgrade. How far I want to upgrade, if I go all the way up to semi what kind of trailer do I want (2-3 axle RGN, step deck), etc. That’s a nice Pete though, my guess is you got a step deck 🤔.
Thanks man! I was going back and forth to with a CDL Hotshot setup or a semi/trailer? Figured cost wise it was better to go semi. And it all depends on what you wanna do and the lanes. But I’m excited to show y’all what I got 😏

Oh, and since you had Pumpkin, maybe the tractor should be "Ghost?" ....or since you're leaving the Wyoming logo, "Ghost Rider?"

Are ya taking that decal off this side of the truck
Nope! That’s my states logo. I’ll run it until I do different colors. Right now I think it looks good
@@truckertavis oh ok didn’t know it was a state logo right on can’t wait to the first load man 👍
@@McQueenInc yeah it is so fits perfectly! And same I’m excited! Can’t wait to show and bring you guys along on it
I'd be interested in the insurance for just the Peterbuilt if possible. Thanks in advance.
Sweet yeah I’ll make a video about it for ya then so I can get ya better and more in depth info 👍🏼
Those are seasonal allergies bud. Had them all my life. Try a nasal spray like floanase. Works for me.
If it is I must be just getting some. I’ve never had allergies before. I think it’s just a bug tho. I was puking on the first day
@@truckertavis yeah. Pukin ain’t allergies usually. Prayers for ya brother
@@PKerusso thank you! 🙏🏼
So you use Brokers or Dispatchers? OR do you find loads yourself and have direct customer?
Do you use a factoring company?
I use load boards 90% of the time. I have a few direct customers I’ve gained over the past 6 months. And yes I use a factoring company.
I believe I played football with u in Arizona or palm desert
What motor in the Pete? Crappar?
Cummins ISX15
@@truckertavis nice! 👍. Well done brother. Looking forward to seeing it haul
@@PKerusso thanks brother! 🙌🏼
Are you hiring for non cdl hotshot trucking
Not currently. It’s expensive to hire someone.
Or do you know someone that is
Congrats brother
Thank you!! 🙏🏼
