@@nogoogle6349 So once you get your license you can be a captive agent with a company and get wages+ commission, benefits, vacation etc. As a broker the commission is hell of a lot higher (if you get with the right company) and you can be appointed with many companies with access to 100's of different products. If a different carrier had better rate, you can pivot there. I worked for a major carrier 7-3 doing as an adjuster doing home/fire claims. I felt kind of stressed, overworked and underpaid. Great benefits though, vacation,401k, weekends odd. Im about to get on with a site to become a broker for property and casualty along with my Life and Disability license . Watch some videos on the pros and cons of captive vs noncap. Good Luck I hope this information helps. 5 years ago I seen a guy taking the stickers off his new dodge hellcat. I admired the car and he said, Hey I'm going to tell you like someone told me 6 months ago, "Get your insurance license and sell life insurance". I did it 1 year later, sat on them for 1 1/2 years and now Im with an amazing company and I should reach 6figures with working about 20-30 hours a week that Im available. I know cars depreciate but after hearing his story and how he was living 1 year ago, I was happy for him and it inspired me.
