  • Xpeng has burst onto the German market with a big bang and is busy promoting its three new electric cars: the Xpeng G6, Xpeng G9 and Xpeng P7.
But is the hype really justified, is Xpeng really a serious alternative!?
The electric SUV segment, with vehicles 4.75 meters long, is packed with a huge selection from all the well-known manufacturers, and now there's the Xpeng G6.
That's reason enough to take a closer look and try out the new Xpeng G6 with you in this video from the inside and out, and especially in the big driving report!
In a few days, a consumption test with a charging check will follow to complete the overall picture of the Xpeng G6.
But most of all, we are looking forward to your opinion on Xpeng and the new Xpeng G6 - let's exchange ideas in the comments...

(20:22) A HUD would be a nice addition, but not critical as you have a fairly clear display directly in front of the driver. What I find missing on the G6 (and many other Chinese cars) is a speed limiter. You could say that you can use ACC. ACC is perfect when you are driving on open roads and longer distances. In the city, where you have traffic lights, roundabouts, all sorts of junctions and speed cameras (quite common in Europe), a speed limiter is much more useful. You simply set a speed limit and you can drive, safe in the knowledge that you won't exceed it. The speed limiter does not deactivate when you use the brakes and you can drive slower than the maximum speed you have set. If you need to go faster than the limit you set, simply press a button on the steering wheel to deactivate the speed limiter (XPeng could use the programmable button for this). I think XPeng could easily implement the speed limiter as it would only require a software update.

The Xpeng G6 has started selling in Australia from December 2024.
It does look very good, it's between $55,000 to 61,000 on the road, which is good price wise.
I do agree about the roof and I wonder how it'll handle taking snow or heavy hail in Australia?
The translation is very good it's about 99% translated only has a problem with the horsepower (Pferdestärken) and torque (Drehmoment) type words.
    Nothing to fuss about. 🙂

Very nice review. I'm thinking about buying a car and the G6 is one of my strongest options. Well equiped, 800v architecture, nice ride, long range and good warranty, all this at a very interesting price.

As for the consumption: I did a 100 km testdrive in october in the Netherlands, light rain, 15 degrees. About 50% highway and 50% urban. consumption: 13.7 kwh/100 km!

I've had the G6 RWD in Hong Kong for 18 days. Temperature in Dec is a fine 16°C and I'm getting 12.5kw/100 km. The temp will reach over 30°C in April so I'm curious what my range will be then. I read somewhere though the optimal temperature for EVs is 15°C to 35°C. Fantastic car, I'm glad I no longer drive petrol as premium gas in HK is US$2.60 a liter 😵‍💫

You've hit the nail on the head. My volvo xc60 is coming to renewal and I need more than €1000 a month for 3 years and 20k per year.

To those that are disappointed about the G6 not having ambient lighting but want to purchase, I suggest you get the White interior (it's actually light grey) as it pops out at night and gives the car an airy feel. Some users have complained the black interior is too gloomy at night

In France, we don't even have the cover under the hood. The battery, windshield washing fluid tank, brake fluid tank and coolant tank are all exposed.
I have ordered a small 3rd party frunk.

Not in Spain either, and on top of that, the G6 is a bit more expensive than in France.

Yes, the G6 has 98.5% heat rejection, which is almost equivalent to a car with sun shade.
