Introduction To Harrodsburg Historic Castle

- Its builder, Daniel Lawson Moore, was a Harrodsburg native and a descendant of an old and influential family of the South. The house was built as a wedding gift for his second wife, Minnie Ball of Woodford County. The architect of this impressive mansion is unidentified, but it can match the quality of similar grand houses of this style anywhere in the country. There are 17 rooms on two floors, which display a variety of stained-glass windows, parquet floors, and elaborate plasterwork.1

I watched a tour of the house and felt sad that I'd never see it restored. But you're the new owner! YAY!!! What an incredible journey is ahead.

One does simply not "renovate" a castle...A true Knight will RESTORE the castle. Looking forward to seeing the continuation of this restoration to all its glory.
Actual castles have been routinely renovated for centuries. Respectful renovation can ensure longevity for buildings like this, whereas restoration can cause their eventual demise.
