Wonderful to see the old gal again, with a bit more detail in your walkthru...very cool! So glad you're keeping us in the loop, thank you!
The music is so beautiful to hear as we tour. I can feel the old girl give you big ol’ hugs every time you walk us into her massive rooms & envision the beauty she has ready to offer ….especially with your help & incredible love for her, she wants to shine bright! She wants to be your lady! I love the views into the yard from the upper windows, looking over the estate!
I remember when Frank and Kerri went into the attic and there were large buckets everywhere full of water from the leaking roof 😱. The wood work in the house is beautiful now days most new houses have cheap windows and plastic window and door trim. I would take a 100 year old house over anything built in the last 10 years. Real hardwood floors not vinyl to look like wood and true 2 x4 lumber and real brick not the fake stuff they glue on 😂 You have yourself a real gem. Look forward to the restoration.
I just ❤ this place, and hope I am fortunate enough to be still be here when its restoration is complete. Thank you so much for the walk through reminder and allowing us to watch the progress. Such a beautiful place.
So happy that her new owner cares so much about her architecture and historic preservation. I was dreading her being bought by someone who cared nothing for the old style of home.
When we drive to town I insist we drive by to see what you’re doing. It. Is. Lovely. Thank you!!!! This former California loves the beautiful history!!!
Love seeing the progress that's being made. Id also love to see some more of the "renovation action" as well. Seeing the construction process is always cool to see.
Thanks for the tour! I don’t remember seeing all of this before,,,,especially the kitchen, rooms of the kitchen. It is nice to see it all again to refresh the memory. To see what has been cleaned, new construction plus will be interesting. Maybe you should build a squirrel house for the little critters, in a tree. They will miss the big house! Thanks again and see you next time!
I would love to hear you talk about what order you plan to work on different projects, what is the order of priority, etc. Great tour!
Please pan more slowly….an amazing woodwork!❤️
yes, the camera person's eye to brain connection is quicker than the viewer's.
What a great house. I am glad you bought it because I can tell you value it's structure and history. The prior couple did as well.
Thank you for the tour. Looking forward to seeing the next video.
So nice to see the house so dry and just waiting for the next step of renovation. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to each video
That's heartbreaking to see such a beautiful old building abandoned and neglected. Good luck on the restoration. It will take so much work.
Attic has a peaceful feel from looking..The house looks happy...
I imagine that immense space in the attic was extra space they could convert to children's bedrooms if their family expanded.
Great to see the old girl through your eyes. I look forward to following you on your renovations
I am so happy you continue to share with us this beautiful estate, You made a nice tour video. Ignore the negative comments, they come with youtube. I fell in love with this house years ago when it was listed for sale. Thank you for continuing sharing her with us.
Thank you so much! I think this is the first time I’ve seen the kitchen in detail. I could be wrong! I am so happy that you’re keeping us updated! This is such a beautiful house? Mansion? Not sure what you would call it!😅😅 I am enjoying this so much! I really think you might need a little bit more brick though!😂😂. Take care, and hopefully we’ll see more soon!❤😊❤
I don’t think we’ve seen it before either
The exposed brick, is just so beautiful...whatever your plans are to be, the house wants to be happy ..lightened up colors, inviting anyone to come in and sit a spell..
It's sad that the house was allowed to deteriorate to this extent. In its day it was a grand place, and at least some of its features are restorable. Good luck on your venture!
Amazing detail. So thankful you are taking us on this journey with you.
You mentioned the woodwork. Spot on, you don't see this level of intricate design in today's. The masters of good old woodworking art at its finest! I can't wait to see it bright back to its shine and luster!
Excited to see what you do with it. Such a beautiful, stately home.
Thanks for the walk through! We really miss doing that every day.
Hello Kerry and Frank. I hope all is well with you and the cats too. I miss Sundays with you and the renovation together. My warmest greetings to you and all the best, see you around.😘💚💚🍀🍀
@@donataj2213 Glad to see you found Kyle's channel and are watching the updates just like we are. =)
@@moorelandhouse Yes I'm watching but I miss you Kerrie and Frank, hope all is well with you👋😃
Thank you for the tour and for taking the time to create the video !,It was very interesting to see all the place before the rénovation. This beautiful house is a fascinating place .
I’ve been wondering what was going on with the house. Thanks for the video!
Wow..... Best detailed video of this beautiful old mansion.
What a gem. Beautiful love to see it redone with all the original wood doors an framing just gorgeous 😍
Glad I found you! I have followed his restoration from the beginning! I look forward to the finished product
The sound outside was not bad. This place is beautiful. Are you going to give us the plans for the place. I can see that third floor being used as an event space. Weddings outside and receptions upstairs. Please more videos sooner.
Thanks for the tour/update! It may be quite awhile but I yearn to see the vid where the stained glass window is uncovered again. That will be something!
The music is very nice and relaxing. Good job!
Love the tour and looking forward to upcoming videos. It looks like a daunting project but you seem like your up for the task of making her beautiful again . Thank you!
It was a good tour…carry on with your renovation, sir.
Thank you for the tour. Love this house
Fascinated by this house the first time I saw it. Wanted it but Frank and Carrie beat me to it. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
Thanks for the tour! Absolutely stunning building! Can't wait to see it progress. Please pan more slowly, as I'm a little seasick lol....but I'll be watching anyway, dramamine in hand 😆 Love from Tennessee!
at one time before frank and kerry got the house...previous owners has taken items from inside the house to the local antique mall to sell
Thanks for the tour. I think she is in good hands. Please keep posting updates of your restoration progress. Thanks.
Thank you for continuing. Looking forward to your vision of evolving stabilizing and fixes.
...while all the beautiful original details are understandably impressive to view and want to preserve, the realities of the previous vintage physical neglect create a financial challenge moving forward in these restoration projects. You are correct, some irreplaceable. Focus and being passionate about the project eases the challenges. The place looks dry, which is job one, and ready for the next project phase. Ive been told "do one room at a time" in my home project (12 rooms here). How many there ? A quality vintage home deserves a quality restoration, as seen here....
The first owner would be Freaked Out to see the exposed brick.
That we ♥️ 7:19
This house is a real gem with beautiful woodwork, fireplaces, stained glass, I fell in love with it at first sight, even though at the time it was wet with full water containers and resembled a swimming pool rather than a house and it's a miracle it survived at all. I hope you will continue the renovation and give it a second life.
Thanks for carrying on with the restoration of this amazing house. Looking forward to your next video to see the progress. FYI - we just finished the reinstallation of our large curved glass windows.
Thank you so much for the update and tour!😊
This was great! Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you for the tour !!!😊
Your doing an excellent job...
You know if your a single man, the Harrodsburg Bells will be looking for a suitor beau to call on then😊
Gorgeous
What a beautiful home it will be.❤❤
Simply beautiful 😮😮😮WOW
Thank you for the tour. Your place is a Diamond in the rough…but she is shining brighter everyday. I wouldn’t know where to start, but she will let you know in her own way. That view from the castle tower (looking over its kingdom 😉) is truly amazing. Keep up the good work!
Hey great to see you the new owner dropping video- hello from New Zealand 🇳🇿
I am looking forward to the finished end of this project, I love see old homes and building being preserved and given new life.
Look at the details on that mule post! You just blew past.
Thank you ... we love that wonderful place too!
Thank you for the tour. I look forward to future updates. I like your choice of music and your calm voice and demeanor.
It would be wonderful if all the building materials and debris could be removed completely from the interior of the house and stored and conserved onsite in a secure building, but that would require a huge building. Just clearing out everything that isn't staying in the house is a monumental task, as you've no doubt already discovered. I'm glad there is a team of people working on this property now, it was just too much for Frank and Carrie to handle on their own.
Thank you much for sharing! I hope one day to be able to visit this beautiful house one day. Please keep sharing.
I hope you started on the tower before it falls.
Great video
Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the walk, though .
Appreciate what you are going to accomplish.
Best wishes.
Hopefully you can add a couple of baths. Do you have a plan yet for how to approach the restoration
Wonderful video
Thank you for sharing this continued journey with us! It will all be grand again some day! Never give up on her. It will be worth it. It is always worth it to save our disappearing history.
Would have loved to see what you’ve done to improve it. Was hoping you might start a channel up for us to see your progress. Have watched since the beginning and was bummed when they sold it!!! Anyway would love to see what you’ve done with it since you bought it!!
Mr Kyle! Thanks for showing us the inside again! I cant wait to see you evict the squirrels and make a proper show place of her!! I enjoy the process as i grew up in Harrodsburg
Wonder when you will start working on the building, lots to do.
But we've already seen all this! We need to see your amazing things you've done! They've already shown us this.
Nice to have an initial tour on this channel though to compare to future work. This is the end of Frank and Carrie's work and beginning of the new custodians.
Give him a break. He's new TH-cam and editing takes so much time. I do agree the videos need to be more frequent.
Thank you so much
DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN CREW OR PLAN ON USING LOCAL PEOPLE OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH. GOOD LUCK. THANK YOU.
Will you be restoring the fireplace or putting gas inserts in them? Also, I’m curious how many acres does this house sit on?
Hoping you keep original bead board in the kitchen and, around the house.
Please take detailed pictures of moldings and just general close ups!! Please!
You got a lovely old house. It'd be dream to get a classical stone castle to fully restore and modernize retiring there in the end. Is this going to be your personal home?
It seems like the 1.5 bathrooms is not very condusive to the size of space. Are you considering adding any?
In a future video, could you please explain to us what caused the mortar to degrade in between the bricks? I’ve never seen that to that extent before
it's lime mortar...and once it fell into disrepair, the moisture dissolved it. also the design of the box gutters was not sufficient and really added to water getting in. the first owners that were working on it's restoration had to spend months just shoring it up and drying it out. they spent a lot of time explaining why the mortar failed. go watch all of frank and carrie's videos to see how the house even got to this point . they did an amazing job at securing it.
It’s a beautiful house. I can’t wait to see you restore it.
Also, is the cat still around?
Kitten passed at the end of last year according to Kerry. She did not want to make a video addressing it and chose to keep it private after losing her beloved animal friend and friendliest stray cat.. We all miss Kitten.
@@PATRICIASCHERER-sl9zo so sad 😢
Thank you for letting me know.
Are any of the fireplaces going to be able to be functional?
Wood, ventless gas?
Where did the stairs off the kitchen lead? You only said they had been removed.
Could the second flue be for a hot water heater run off of coal?
Where do you plan to start?
Does Kitten still live at the Castle?
Is there a basement in the castle?
Are you going to change some of the layout to reflect todays living? In days past they put in way too many doors and small passageways....lol
It's a beautiful, historic building, it would be barbaric to change its layout. If you want modern interiors I think you should buy a new house.
Hey - can you please Pan around slowly, you turn too fast and we miss detail. Dare I say it I feel a little ‘travelSick’
my oh my ... you will need a very thick wallet $$$ in order to just make it livable .... and a few million more in hopes to make it a show place !
I will always call it a master bathroom, not a full bathroom. I never grew up thinking that if you called a room master bedroom or master bathroom that you were a master. This political correctness crap is ridiculous.
i would remove dormers an make towers shorter
Why??!!?? This house is 150 years old!! The whole idea of restoration is to SAVE as much of the original house as humanly possible, what can’t be saved is replaced with period appropriate or modern equivalent, with exception to electrical, plumbing and appliances (although it is possible to get modern appliances that look vintage).
