I still cant believe that i didnt drop a tear with this wonderful game and I cried like a baby at the end of persona 5 royal and it its like 30 times less sad
@@kirbo2351 When I played Red Dead Redemption 2 and saw Arthur's death, I didn't cried. But at the same time I felt like doing it, but I didn't because it didn't seem like a good time or I just want to protect myself from sadness. Probably my parents would ask me why my eyes are red (from crying) and things like that, I don't know if I should explain to them that I have cried with a video game, so simply when there is a very sad scene, I dedicate myself to feeling sadness and mental pain that it can cause . But without crying. So far I've only cried at a few movies, like Hachiko. (Which is impressive considering that I am a cat lover).
When he says "John made it" with such pride, that's how you know you have lived .
Like if u want RDR3 before GTA6
they is not going be a RDR3, they may bring out DLC where we can play as Jack get to play from where they left off on RDR

Unlikely, there is nothing much left for Jack, sure they can always make up something, but the more probable thing is to do is another prequel.
Just like the first game, you hear about John and his old gang, but they don't tell you much about it. In the second game on the other hand, we don't know much about the gang history, how Dutch and Hosea met Arthur, and how the new memebers were recruited. It feels as if they left such details out intentionally for another prequel if not a DLC.
They could do the story of Dutch and Hosea when they founded the gang leading up to the death of Bessie (Hosea's wife) and Annabelle (Dutch's lover at the time). Colm O'Driscoll can be the main antagonist and they show how the whole gang slowly came together over 20 years.

I noticed the deer never looks at you during the short scenes, but does when Arthur finally goes. Symbolically, finally seeing him at the gates of death and it walking off, almost shepherding him to the next stage. Man I’ve never cried like this during a game.

This game is the first game I've played where I felt this emotionally invested in a character, I felt like I'd lost my best friend when I'd completed arthurs story. This game is beautifully done.

It hurt me when mine died, since I won it in a mission where a guy died for a wild boar and told me to keep it for him, however it hurt me since I felt that the last of that man died thanks to me, no doubt when I thought about it it was very hard and I think it was the best horse I had in the whole game

I lost so many horses during this game, but somehow that scene got me so much.
I put in work on this game and got pretty goddamn good and gunfights and horse safety. I kept the same one thru the whole adventure, stole a few here and there of course, but my pretty near-all-white steed Whalebone made it thru thick and thin together. When those hooves went out from under me and I saw 'em swooping in for the kill, I went completely nut-shit on them with both guns 'til there was nothing left.

My horse was Buel, so it was really sad for me that he died since Arthur was intrusted with him and I made to keep him strong and safe as much as possible.
When Arthur is staring at the sun, he envisions what John will become and it’s like he passes his soul over to him. As a player I don’t think I’ve ever felt so connected to a character and I cried my eyes out with that scene

Does anyone else wonder why Arthur's death hit us so hard compared to any other fictional character? Something about him just has a special place in my heart
It's a nice character afterall, the story about redemption. He thinks he is a bad guy and a sinner. I think it gets best explained when he talks with the nun and she says that he should help people cause it makes him happy.
I donno. It feels like someone I know has died, and I cry every time I see it. And it took me a while to be over it when I first played last month. I knew he died but I dreaded it when it came closer and it still hit me hard for some reason
He speaks to the part of us that would go above & beyond for the people we love. Taking care of his family was all he knew & everything he ever did, good or bad was for them. He has such a negative image of himself & he's certainly not a saint. But he was a loyal, loving & charismatic person who cared & helped every one

The trolley accident, Hosea and Lenny’s death just completely screwed him over. Micah took advantage of him when he was at an all time low.
I think Hosea's death made him crazy, but Arthur's death made him go completely mad. Two of his most loyal subject (although Hosea help him build the Van Der Linde gang) died in which he was completely to blame due to his misjudgement and misconception to the plan.
Yes it wasn’t because he hit his head he always were like that Dutch always made bad mistakes but used people’s faith to justify them ,when Hosea died he didn’t have his moral compass anymore he had Micah as his new one but he always were reckless,in his mind he’s the only one that could play people as soon someone played him or made him look weak he would get rid of that person example of that is Bronte

Arthur's goodbye to his horse hit a soft spot, had to wave goodbye to one of my dogs and they offered to just take him back so I didn't have to see anything but I couldn't live with myself if I decided to not be there to thank him for all those special times we had and to reassure him that he was a good boy.

It really hit me then that the hat's been called "Arthur's hat" in the inventory from the start, and seeing that when playing as John got me emotional

The fact that this scene crushed everyone who had to play through it, is a nod to Rockstar for a phenomenal job of putting you inside the story. I dont care if you're a man or a woman, 8 or 48. This scene broke your heart when you got to it. Thanks Rockstar.

I think that it is a testament to the greatness of this game that two people - who will never meet and are separated by 3-4 decades - have virtually the same reactions, the same emotions to this incredible story.
RIP Authur Morgan. One of the best written protagonist in video games. A flawed man trying to find a place in the world. They say a man truly shows who he is in his dying moments. And Aurther showed that he was more than an outlaw. He was a man with a caring heart who wanted to do good. He mightve died alone. But he was never alone.

And yet he died facing east looking at the sunrise. It was in the east that Arthur tried to become a better person. So he ended up looking in the direction of his better self, instead of looking back at the bad person he was (out west).

People stopped giving credit to John as a character ever since Arthur came to be, but trust me, the first game is equally atmospheric and beautiful in its own ways and does John the justice he deserves. Although I love Arthur, John is still my most favourite character in the franchise and more people need to get through his story as well.

KinDa WarPed true but after aurthur distracted them and John slipped away in the first game the Pinkertons find them and force him to find Javier and bill and Dutch and after the Pinkertons lie and kill John and that we're we left off the same thing would have happened to aurthur.

I played and completed RDR2 last week for the first time (PC) i have to say, as an older gamer, i think the overall journey, storytelling and visuals were all stunning.. it was emotional at the end, just before Arthur was killed, my horse died... i had the same horse throughout the entire story, always made sure he was fed, petted etc. It really was the highlight of my gaming experience over the last 35 years!

I love how John, even at the end, he's just still like "Arthur come on!" even as Arthur's basically telling him he's gonna die and to go get his family, John's still practically begging him to try and stay with him like "stop this crazy talk man". I love what Rockstar did with the relationship for these two. Even Dutch in that moment where he's looking at Arthur seems to feel shame and sadness finally seeing what's happened to someone who was almost a son to him and realising he was loyal to the end in a way Micah never was.

He tried to say "I'm sorry" but he couldn't, if he did, he would admit that he was wrong. He was a proud man, I think that's why he kills Mica in the end.
