You’ll have to ready Robyn’s book to understand. The way she described it was her and Whitney were in fact in a physical relationship very very early in her career. Whitney broke it off and they continued to be friends before she blew up. However, Whitney and Robyn would sometimes be very overprotective over each other when it came to seeing other people even after they decided to just be friends
Exactly! Also Whitney loved and trusted Robyn as a friend, but she was in love with Bobby ( not matter how toxic they were). There were 2 different types of relationship she had with Robyn and Bobby.

Instead of depth the film concentrated on Whitney’s EPIC performances. Which was a huge mistake. However, how much depth could be achieved? Clive and Pat were more concerned about making themselves look good. Nobody will be able to tell the complete truth of Whitney’s life. There are too many secrets.
Such a GREAT movie. There's so much that could've been shown in the movie, but I'm grateful that they told the story in a way that celebrated Whitney. Hope that they'll do a series.
First off whitney had an experience within ONE female …. I know plenty of girls that were young and went through a phase like that . I’ know girls and guys that have been through that phase . Doesn’t make you gay because you had a crush / feelings for 1 person of the same sex during your teenage years and never did again . Clearly Clive and Pat tried to make Whitney look bad in this film. Remember Clive abs Whitney have had some disagreements throughout the years and we all know that Pat HATED WHITNEY WITH A PASSION , thanks to the information Leolah Brown gave us
@@MykelMontana it was more of a fling not “relationship”…. almost every girl played with a girl while younger, so I guess the whole world full of lesbians lol
I'm seeing in a few comments here that people really don't realize just how long that "lesbian" rumor has floated around. I don't think people realize that, that was a talk before Whitney actually became famous. Whitney & Robyn were very young adults, moving around in Jersey & NY.....nightclubs where Whitney sang & did acts with her mon & the Sweets! Other celebs ba ck during that time that knew about them and were used to seeing the pair in nightclubs were Chaka Kahn, Luther Vandross, Ashford & Simpson, Roberta Flack, Kashif, Aretha, Phyllis Hyman, & so many that many on here may not even remember! Also, those music producers & managers that were in her life like Narada Michael Waldon. even Babyface & LA Reid..... Also, people in their home town in New Jersey in general. How do y'all think it originally started being questioned? That rumor wore track shoes....that certainly didn't start after fame nor with Robyn's memoir! In fact, Bobby Brown released his book before Robyn's. And guess what he admitted to the world in his book, and in an interview years ago.....way before Robyn's memoir! I said all that to say once again, Robyn Crawford has nor done anything to "ruin" anything about Whitney, no matter what she shared in her story, THEIR story! She didn't talk about anything that wasn't obviously already known. It just came as a shock to those who had no idea......and because Whitney is a huge star, people got mad over very old news, and choices that SHE made for herself!
Case and POINT; it was WHITNEY’S LIFE and when she was living she DENIED all claims and neither Bobby nor Robyn said A SINGLE WORD of this alleged nonsense when she was ABLE to dispute it💯 this is the HIGHEST exploitation of a human being EVER and it’s VERY SAD!!! Just SAD!
1st of all Bobby in this era was fine, he wasn’t scrubby looking, he was very stylish, and looked good in his clothing, this movie was actually bullshit.
This movie was very disrespectful to Whitney - it downplayed her marriage and her faith to GOD. Whitney and her daughter are turning in their graves behind this film distasteful film!
I’m sorry that I feel that way and I was in the process of auditioning but didn’t feel good about it. I’d like to do a project about her gospel roots . Whitney prefame. I hope I get the chance because I’d love to pay my respects to her we really look alike
People fail to realize this movie wasn’t about her struggles, it’s supposed to celebrate her legacy. Her private life played out in front of us so there’s no point of putting unnecessary drama in a movie that’s more about her and her music. Personally I think Whitney would’ve liked this movie more than the other bullcrap movies and documentaries they’ve put out about her. She wanted to be known for her music and that voice not her struggles. Even still to this day people talk so much crap bout her being an addict, okay but that addict can sing her ass off and is still the GOAT.
With or without these scenes the film wasnt what i expected. I never got to feel the excitment and the once in a lifetime talent of Whitney and why she has left her mark as the best vocalist of all time nor the huge success that she was. Thats a film not equal to her.
This should have been a series and not a movie. Too much to tell I’m 2.5 hours. So much left out, not enough time to flesh out the stories and characters and impact.
@@thanosave7112 I guess it doesn't take much to please you as a "FAN" because if you were you'd notice the inaccuracies. For example, at one point she's in the studio telling Clive Davis she doesn't want to record " Why does it hurt so bad" for her DEBUT album when in fact that song wasn't recorded until the mid-90's! I could literally go on and on but you get the idea.
The way they made the movie makes Whitney seems like she was in love with Robyn, but started dating Bobby to hide it Lol!! It’s so ridiculous!! Whitney broke with Robyn years ago before she even met Bobby, after that they broke up she started having an affair for 2 years with Jermaine Jackson and then Eddie Murphy who she really had a huge crush on and then Bobby. She loved and trusted Robyn as a good friend, but saying she was in love, it’s a big world knowing how she treated Robyn while she was with those men.
Seem yall just don’t want to accept that Whitney was lesbian and used Bobby for her image her family made the movie so they knew her. They knew the truth!! Bobby been said in his first book that he felt Whitney used him to get off the gay rumors and everybody said he was lying now look he was telling the truth the whole entire time! She was trying to use Eddie first but he probably knew she was gay so she got to Bobby
@@Delta-hd4yu you’re the one who don’t want to accept that Whitney wasn’t lesbian…She really loved Bobby. The way Whitney treated Robyn dosen’t look like someone who was in love with Robyn. Maybe they knew Whitney really was in love with Robyn but had to hide it behind Bobby. I still can’t wrap my head around why they would do the movie like this if she wasn’t in love with Robyn like what’s their intentions here? I wonder if Robyn was apart of this
@@xoxoloveable6845 because they had an agenda. That’s all!! Clive knew about Robyn at the beginning of her career, but he also said that she wasn’t lesbian because he knew that she dated Jermaine for 2 years, Eddie Murphy another guy and at the end Bobby. They didn’t put the part with Eddie Murphy and the scenes in which she broke up with Robyn on purpose because if they put it, the lesbian image of Whitney that they want to portray would have not make any sense. Bobby was the rebound of Eddie and not Robyn 🤷♀️. In this movie they put her story with Robyn, Jermaine and immediately with Bobby to make it seem that Whitney ended up with Bobby to hide her relationship with Robyn, while in reality she did break up with Robyn before she started dating other men before Bobby. Before Whitney marry Bobby she asked to Robyn her opinion and Robyn asked her “do you love him?” Whitney said “yes”. Now if she was really in love with Robyn why she had to ask such a question to “the love of her life” about someone else lol.
@@Thegazelle1000 I somewhat agree. I use to be a Bobby/Whitney fan back in the days. I could tell she really loved him but after I seen this movie I was a lil confused wondering if her and Bobby was just for show? But I do d read a little of Robyn’s book I’ll have to finish it to see the truth since this movie had a agenda.
Thats a lie though. Robyn QUIT after Bobby cursed her out for buying a shirt as a gift from Whitney to George Michael (who was openly gay at that point). Whitney was NEVER going to fire Robyn because she was her flunky at that point willing to do anything for her. Robyn should have quit in 1992 when Whitney married Bobby. Their friendship had been over Whitney shut Robyn out but kept her on as an employee because she was loyal and kept her secrets.
Ooh so I can now put the pieces together as to why why she left home to go stay with her friend. Cos honestly in the movie, there isn’t any reason strong enough for her to move out of the house. Not enough was shown about her friend as to why she wanted to be with her, and not enough was shown from her mother as to her driving her crazy for her to move from the house. I guess now it’s clear.
Sad how much of the character building type stuff was left out. This movie lacks. If you don’t know who Whitney is…this movie doesn’t give you a sense of the real woman. It just shows she could sang her ass off, won a bunch of awards and had trouble all around her in her personal life. Nothing goes into real detail of who she was. None of it showed her charitable side. The movie moves from scene to scene with a lack of flow. Things appear out of order. It’s a whirlwind of chaos. Some movies like “What’s Love Got To Do With It”…I came away from that movie feeling all of the feels for Tina Turner. From the highs and the lows, you felt this woman’s pains and triumphs. IWDWS lacks the character building necessary to really truly feel for Whitney. I’m just glad I was alive through it all to know more of what they left out and glossed over. She was so much more and deserved a better, more truthful script. Naomi Ackie did so well for what she was given. I liked her in the role. I hated the script.
I agree with you. I guess that Clive wanted to focus on Whitney “the superstar” and not Whitney “the person”. That explain why they rushed that movie like that.
That is a huge misconception. Whitney was never torn between Robyn and Bobby she chose Bobby boldly and never regretted it. She ended her relationship with Robyn in 1983 she had not touched Robyn in 6 years by the time she met Bobby. Robyn was the one waiting in the wings thinking Whitney would fall for her it was really sad actually because Robyn wasted her youth thinking Whitney would come back to her. She was 40 by the time she quit and got a life of her own. Her life had been consumed with Whitney for 20 years.
@@kimberlyjade4094 not in 2012 .Robyn was having dinner with her wife when she got the news whitney died .she never mentioned whitney calling her days before she died . That part was made up . The last time they spoke /Whitney called was after Robyn quit and that’s was during the early 2000’s
The whole movie was an insult to Whitney's legacy. They took pages off Robyn's book without her consent and just re-hashed truths. Whitney and Robyn met in 1980 at a youth Summer Camp, not randomly on the street. This movie made out they met in 1982, that's when Whitney signed her record deal and they were allegedly over.
The film would have been better with some of these scenes.🤷🏻♀️ Although, it's still not a good movie. Whitney deserves so much more. #whitneyisthebest

Why are the hell bent on projecting the Clive had everything to do with all the bodyguard decisions. Clive didn't want the Acapella beginning an IWALY.... Neither was her doing the movie HIS idea. He didn't want her to do the movie either. He's said on record MANY times that he was not sold on her doing a movie because he felt that if it flopped her music career would take a hit. Kevin went directly to Nippy & her call about the movie. Clive had nothing to do with it. And he didn't select IWALY either. Kevin did. Everyone know that clive was a major player in her career.... I don't understand why it needs to be embellished & overplayed.
He's one of the executive producers. Enough said. And I wish people would stop saying that he "discovered" her. He did not. Someone told him about her and we went to see her perform. It's not as if he just bumped into her and the street.
I said the same thing, but it’s CLIVE DAVIS! He loved to take all the credits, even the one he didn’t contribute for his artists. They should have chosen an actor to play Kevin Costner in that scene and not Clive, he had nothing to do with the bodyguard! The same reason why he didn’t want her to write her songs because he thought that they were too urban and they would eventually flopped. At the beginning in her career he told her that he would find the best songwriters and best producers for her, but in the movie he made her seem like she didn’t know to do anything except singing 🙄🙄🙄.
@@dinastergiou709 No, they don’t talk about it in the movie. They showed the scene of the bodyguard in which Frank ( Kevin Costner) was sitting and watching the video of “run to you” in the movie. That’s all they showed about Kevin Costner.

I know there was at least one more. I filmed a scene in Boston where young Whitney and Robyn were on a basketball court. I sat through the whole movie waiting for that scene, and now it's not even in the deleted scenes. lol
I wish they had filmed the scene from Robyn's book when her and Cissy had words and she walked past Cissy and Cissy jumped on her. Cissy had a disdain for Robyn because she knew her and Whitney were involved and Whitney listened to Robyn and a lot of times wouldn't listen to Cissy.

Its impossible!!!!! Important moments things events will get left out!! Other Important things will get quickly glossed over. Its hard man
There’s only been two biopic moves strictly about Whitney. That’s this one and the lifetime film. The other films like Bobby’s movie she was a side character and same with the Bobbi Kristina film. Whitney deserves a good biopic but the films they keep putting out have been garbage. If anything they should do a series like the Genus Aretha show from a few years ago. There have been several documentaries about Whitney and so far the only two that weee good was “Whitney Can I be me” and the other titles “Whitney”.
The lady who played Robyn looks soooooooo much like Anita Baker. I'm not an advocate for bio films because a lot of them are corny as hell, but if they ever want to make one about Anita Baker, they need to pick her ❤️❤️❤️
My friend played a cop in this movie and there was an intense scene they filmed in Boston where Bobbi Kristina is running to the hotel room, and the cops are holding her back, and the detectives are investigating. Any chance you know where I can watch that scene? Will there be more scenes on the hard copy that comes out? Anybody know? Thank you!

Well, this what happens when you don't tell your own story.
Ya'll need to stop trying to make everyone gay. Whitney said that she was not a lesbian so why can't you leave it at that. She spoke for herself when she was alive but now you want to try and force a narrative and speak for her while she's deceased and can't speak for herself. This is beyond disrespectful.

Instead of depth the film concentrated on Whitney’s EPIC performances. Which was a huge mistake. However, how much depth could be achieved?

Just SAD!

Thanks for sharing these. None of these people look or act like who they're portraying! 🤨👎🏼
To say none of them act like who they are portraying is a terrible assessment on your part.
Why the hell they deleted these scenes?!?!?! These would have made the whole movie better 😢
A greater truth could not be said. I agree 100%!
With or without these scenes the film wasnt what i expected. I never got to feel the excitment and the once in a lifetime talent of Whitney and why she has left her mark as the best vocalist of all time nor the huge success that she was. Thats a film not equal to her.

If you think that then you’re delusional lol 🤣🤣🤣 you mentioned Eddie like he was innocent too, he been rumoured to be gay too and caught with a trans? So where’s your point?
Looks like Bobby made Whitney get rid of Robyn they should’ve kept some of these… I didn’t really like the movie seemed rushed

😬 the acting .

@@JayJay-oq4cw I agree , Whitney shouldve just followed her heart
That is a huge misconception. Whitney was never torn between Robyn and Bobby she chose Bobby boldly and never regretted it. She ended her relationship with Robyn in 1983 she had not touched Robyn in 6 years by the time she met Bobby. Robyn was the one waiting in the wings thinking Whitney would fall for her it was really sad actually because Robyn wasted her youth thinking Whitney would come back to her. @@whitneysource also that beach part is made up… Whitney didn’t say “let’s stay lowkey” df this whole movie was made up
The whole movie was an insult to Whitney's legacy. They took pages off Robyn's book without her consent and just re-hashed truths.

There’s only been two biopic moves strictly about Whitney. That’s this one and the lifetime film. The other films like Bobby’s movie she was a side character and same with the Bobbi Kristina film.
