On mobile you can actually swipe left or right with two fingers to switch back to linked notes 😅

Organizing tags was my challenge with Bear. Mostly because the thousands of notes I would import already have tons of tags I added to make them easier to find, and currently folders are the only way I can find anything.
It would probably take me months of full time work to clean up tags to make them useable again.

      I definitely relate to that

What I have done with my tags is set tags up as if they are folders e.g. home, personal and so. I have then set up sub tags for each of these and then pinned them. This gives you are folder system. These tags are then added to the top of the note with a line underneath to separate them from the note. Any tags I use in the note then get listed under the pinned tags in A-Z order for quick reference e.g a name or a place or a note type say report. This gives me the structure I need with pinned notes like folders and other tags for quick access to a more granular search. Obviously you then have the search feature.
I move from Evernote and to be honest have not looked back, as Bear gives me what I need. I also use Notesnook for more sensitive notes as they are hot on encryption.

I love how all the titles are made in Bear! However, for the app itself, I couldn't shake the feeling that it's essentially paid Apple Notes with markdown. I'm really glad you're enjoying the app though! It has so much potential

I also resisted Bear for a while for this reason, but for me, the markdown and the tag organization makes it worth it for me :))

i do feel from time to time that i'm just paying for a better looking, more streamlined apple notes, which tbh is just what i want, but feel like i could be saving some of my hard earned money. however, the fact that my notes are saved on an open format, so i won't be locked into it, gives me some peace of mind.
i subscribed before the price hike, so it's fairly affordable now. but if i even forget to renew my subscription once, i'm not sure i would be willing to pay the higher subscription price, at least not with what i currently make as a student.
i would like it to be a one time purchase app, especially since they use iCloud for sync, so i'm not sure if there's any significant ongoing maintenance cost that needs to be justified with a subscription.

Regarding folders: have you tried the sub tags? For example, #love/bear ?

Yup! They can just get a little overwhelming when you start to break things down a lot hahaha

Why bear is better than Obsidian ? Because it’s more simple ?

Yes. And it works better on mobile devices.

@@majorgear1021 ok you right and about the graph ? We don’t have this view with Bear 🐻is it important for links 🔗 things ?

I wouldn't say that bear is better than Obsidian. It's just a matter of what your needs are in the moment and what meets those needs!
