Full ring, you 100% fold JTo UTG+2 vs UTG open. Simple example. But 6 max, suit JT and 3 bet frequency comes into play. HU...fuk yeah. Give the man a break. He’s one of the best to ever play poker. In the early part of this video, you mentioned that DN bluff frequency was not optimal, but in yesterday's post match you also mentioned how your coaches get getting on you that you were over-calling way too much. My respect for DN's technical abilities as a poker player went up as a result of this challenge. I genuinely thought he would get annihilated and, despite the eye-watering $ figure, in terms of ev bb/100 it was far from that. I still maintain the belief that a lot of the old-school name pros would've got absolutely rinsed (not naming names but genuinely believe a lot of those guys would have tables revolving around them at 500nl online) but I think it's fairly clear that DN is separate from those guys. I wasn't convinced before this challenge.
However, his bitching about variance is a symptom of a live player not understanding the brutality of online, and the brutality of online HU specifically. But even at 6max reg tables when you're grinding 400+ hands an hour, you'll have spells where you greenline just plummets mercilessly in a very short period of time. Live that might be a few days of grind. He's def a bit of a noob in that regard - probably not helped by it being both online and HU.
