The new voyage tutorials are a step in the right direction, particularly Ramsey's repeated warnings to be wary of other crews and keep an eye out on the sea, but it's still not quite enough. They added a few new bits of dialogue to the Maiden Voyage, they can add more practical information about how the game actually works to it, like how to use the new Quest Table UI, not lock it behind a Tips menu that people don't even know exists
I don't need Rare to bring the Arena back, but they need to do SOMETHING with the Sea Dog Tavern. Ever since the Arena was axed, the Tavern's been relevant exactly once, and that was to stand on one of the outer docks during a single adventure. Speaking of cut content, with how voyages have been reworked, Stash Voyages from the Bilge Rats have been phased out. While the Skull of Destiny voyage streamlines FotD runs, there's no corresponding way to get an ashen key when you only have the corresponding chest, or vice versa.
If we're sharing our pet peeves and wishlists here are two of mine: Galleon furniture on Sloops and Brigs. I'm not too familiar with the brig's layout but I know *for sure* that my sloop has enough place for a chair, curtains and a chandelier. Put the chair next to the captain's table, hang the curtains above the map table and hang the chandelier on the cabin's "ceiling". The luxurious chandelier might look a bit out of place on a simple Sloop, so maybe it should be reduced from holding six candles to only holding three. We already have bed variations on different boats, they can do the same here. More trinket placement spots. Maybe it's not a problem for the big ship people, but it feels like my Sloop doesn't have enough place to satisfy my inner interior designer. That is despite the fact that there is visibly plenty of empty spots where trinkets could go. Of course, I know why that is - these empty spots are made for holes in the ship to be made during a battle or a storm. While I'm not entirely sure about the technical side of things, I feel like there should be a solution: Trinkets have a (currently pointless) displacement mechanic - if the ship is damaged near to where the trinket is, the trinket will be a bit displaced, giving you the ability to adjust it back into position. We can give this feature some use by letting players put trinkets in the spots where holes should be, and when the holes are eventually made the trinkets should be displaced (probably more severely - instead of just skewing aside they should fall to the ground or somethin'), and can be placed back after the hole is patched. So if a cannonball hits the place where a painting hangs you must repair the hull before hanging it back. This might also allow us to add more possible hole spots in the ship's hull, though that may or may not be a terrible idea. Do you see my vision?
Okay, but the idea of using company skellies as costumes is actually brilliant. It would fit perfectly, and would add a lot to both the skelly store, and even be a neat element for immersion.
I am personally hoping for some way to bring back Arena cosmetics, or like you mentioned, the bone crusher clothing or shipset. Some things, like the X mark the spot sails, hungering deep tattoos, and more should stay exclusive, but if they arent adding back arena, at least have an outlet to get the cosmetics.
Here's a good item to have, bags of holding. D&D fans know it, but for any who don't, bags of holding are bags with unlimited storage space, it's the subtle way of ignoring the weight capacity of D&D. I'd recommend 3 types of the bag of holding to keep things separated neatly, the gilded, accursed, and seaworthy bags, able to hold artefacts, skulls, and mermaid gems/breath of the seas respectively. We all know the hassle of having to carry at best 3 items at a time to an outpost if we aren't captains, the bags would help to expedite the process. I wouldn't think it'd be a balancing problem either, of storing all your treasure in one bag, it'd make things arguably easier for other pirates to snatch your treasure if you get into a fight, it'd be a conundrum of putting all your eggs in one basket. I wonder if it would be asking too much now to suggest a guard item to the cursed cannonballs. With all the magic junk present in Sea of Thieves, it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility for a magic item made specifically to nullify other magic items, say like a magic bubble that renders any cursed cannonball shot into it powerless. Of course, this would be balanced out by limited usage and long wait times for another use, it wouldn't outright kill cursed cannonballs but would be a useful counter.
i want to be able to slim down our inventory. even get rid of stuff you know you never use. even just a favorites tab when selecting different weaopens.
personally one thing i would add for the Reapers side of hourglass is an inbetween stage between your pirate and the skeleton curse. Think like how Wanda had her skelly hand for a while as she was transforming and give that to us! A skelly hand (goes where hook would go), some exposed ribs and jaw, maybe a leg (goes where peg would go), that way you can have a curse from Reapers AND you can wear standard cosmetics
I think part of the appeal of the factions is that the skellies are entirely separated form the rest of the game. You lose your identity and compatibility because you are fighting for a change in the seas, rather than a preservation of what already is. That said we totally need more skelly cosmeticts
While all the points are valid, there is one thing I especially strongly agree with and one thing I strongly oppose. Disassembly of costumes. It's pretty obvious and everyone talks about it since forever, but it's still one of my big issues with the game. I like being a merchant. I have my sloop fully 'dressed' with merchant cosmetics. No, I don't want to cut my hand and leg off to look like a merchant myself. Now, what I don't agree with, although I understand it, is the removal of privateer gloves. I like my bling bling rings and I want them to stay. Apart from the grind required to get the other rings, these ones are more diverse and not all in style of one faction, which I like.
I'd be okay if you had to earn the privateer gloves somehow (and make it difficult) rather than buy them when they come back, as another comment mentioned. I just don't think you should essentially get them for free when having many rings is way harder to acquire.
@@Bacxaber I get it, but isn't that a thing with all the cosmetics in the game when you think about it? Hats, jackets, swords, guns, curses, you name it, there are easy and hard to get cosmetics in each category. You can complete a tall tale 3 times and get the ashen curse or you can endlessy grind hourglass to get one of the golden curses. I don't see why we can't have both easy to get and hard to get rings as well.
@@SereglothIVRings are a lot harder to see and have less design potential than, say, the difference between the kraken hat and the TSD hat. Like I said, people will likely not realize you're wearing privateer in the heat of the moment. That's not the case with other categories.
Something I would like is a world event where you find a man of war sitting in world and when you find it you can make a vote on a table inside its Captain's quarters which starts the world event and you have to follow clues to find the captain's key but you also have to protect the man of war once you get the key you'll have access to its treasures which will be similar to a fire of Fortune this would also allow them to add a man of war without breaking the server limit
Bringing back the Sea Dog stuff as hourglass lvl 200+ rewards would be cool, but would appreciate completely new hourglass themed clothing & weapon sets possibly even modelled after the arena sets but with a servants and guardian theme, as granted we got the really cool Mysterious Stranger set, but we didn’t get any strictly hourglass themed cosmetics other than a full ghost set re-colour (I like the unique design on the sails & hull but everything else is just a direct copy with different colour)🤝
I want the skeleton curse to be able to where clothes. Allow the customization. Obviously if you’re wearing that one head that’s two skulls out together don’t expect to be able to wear a hat or such
If seadogs items were to come back I think the people that already have it should get a special variant, or something to tell others that they grinder for it in arena. Personally I grinded hard for it in 2020 during lockdown and a lot of my friends did too, I would be happy with like a gold version or something that shows you dedicated time for it before it got rereleased.

I was sad to hear the Merchant 100 piece was a costume. I LOVE The look but I wanted my character's hair and an admiral hat to top it off. I wanna look like the Captain lady from Treasure planet.
The legendary seafarer hat would go so well with this outfit. It also pisses me off that you can't wear gloves/rings with it. The costume doesn't need that singular ring it comes with, we already have one from getting to 100.
Guilds are pretty much useles right now, if there was somr kind of pirate hideout that you could dive to and hang out with other members of your guild, with minigames and stuff like that, with further customization tied to guild progression, people would actually care about guilds
Some ideas I had: 1: I think allowing us to wear both curses at the same time is the wrong way of allowing us to prove we have both. I think instead they should add a clothing item that we can wear that you unlock at either level 100 or 200. Basically George's hat but for reapers as well. Otherwise you would have to sacrifice ALL normal clothing items just to prove you have the skelly curse when wearing both. 2: My biggest regret in my time of playing SOT is not getting "Captain of silvered waters," which unlocks the glorious sea dog outfit. That jacket is still my favorite in the game and as of right now I will never be able to unlock it. I wasn't into PVP back then so I didn't care, but after unlocking both HG curses I am just kicking myself wishing I had done it when I had the chance. So I totally think they should allow us to unlock the sea dog set through HG. I also think that if they do bring back old stuff like the bone crusher set or the purple PL weapons, they should give players who had unlocked them previously a special variant that you can only get if you owned them prior. This would somewhat keep their rarity and still allows us to unlock old stuff. 3: Shhh... Don't mention the tutorial, we want the PS5 players weak remember? 😅 4: I don't think they should remove the prosperous privateer gloves, but I do think they should change the name and tie them to a difficult commendation. 5: Holy hell we absolutely need the ability to summon the mermaid on demand. Yeah that's fair, I myself don't love the skelly curse either because of its limitations, but I _want_ to like it, y'know? The hydra belt and Briggsy's jacket kinda fill the role of the GSD ones though.
@@BacxaberI think the main issue of customizability is one that just has to get better with time. They can't just port over all the clothing because they would have to texture the insides which you can't normally see. Briggsy's jacket is amazing as well. A good pairing I found is the red parrot hat with her jacket.

the reaper mask for skele also looks really fucking stupid imo, its missing the lower wooden jaw and it really needs the hood for skele. i think the lack of lower jaw will work for pirates cause you have beards and hats and such.
I'm not opposed to the jaw or hood, but I personally think it looks better without them. Those parts are supposed to hide the fact that you're a skelly, but if you're being open about it, they're not necessary.
Oh Yea.. I hate the Mermaids system in the game.. its so unpredictable and very hard to rely on.. I had moments when I try swimming away from the ship while its going on one direction if I fall off, and the mermaid spawn behind me not in front of me.. Please make calling mermaid an system in the game or fix the current one.. cause right now.. its Broken like a lot in the game.
My desired things are interactable emotes so you can actually perform an emote together with your buddies, hug and a high fife in particular, the other thing i would like is some kind of tavern where pvp is turned off and you could peacefully meet and chat with other pirates, maybe they could add this sort of meeting place for the safer seas idk
gameplay wise I'd like to see 120 fov, more sandbox improvements, and a fix of hit reg (lol like that will ever happen) I'd like an experimental something to mix up ship speeds tbh. It would be nice if there were something with skill expression to gain speed boosts outside of adjusting the sail. Chases have been pretty stale for a long time on both ends and all ship sizes. This would possibly fuck up balance but how balanced is the game anyway. I'd also say the same for a new experimental weapon or changing how loadouts are done entirely. The disney stick didn't break the game so if done correctly they could add something at least for a season to shake things up. Either way this past season has been my favorite in a long time. I finally went from 1k to 1.3k hours when I had barely played in a couple years
The issue is nothing is internally modelled, but that isn't impossible to fix. Would just take a long time. There's already other bodygroups, what's one more?

The chair on a sloop would make the interior very bottlenecked and would affect CQC, I think. It may also block the hole next to the bird cage.

Not sure that'd be possible given how thick some gloves are, but I at least want compatibility with _some_ gloves, namely fingerless ones.

I would like to see pipe smoking in SOT. Pipes in the shape of figureheads, blow out smoke in different shapes. That would be pretty cool

Oh Yea.. I hate the Mermaids system in the game.. its so unpredictable and very hard to rely on.. I had moments when I try swimming away from the ship while its going on one direction if I fall off, and the mermaid spawn behind me not in front of me.. Please make calling mermaid an system in the game or fix the current one.. cause right now.. its Broken like a lot in the game.

My desired things are interactable emotes so you can actually perform an emote together with your buddies, hug and a high fife in particular, the other thing i would like is some kind of tavern where pvp is turned off and you could peacefully meet and chat with other pirates, maybe they could add this sort of meeting place for the safer seas idk
gameplay wise I'd like to see 120 fov, more sandbox improvements, and a fix of hit reg (lol like that will ever happen)
I'd like an experimental something to mix up ship speeds tbh. It would be nice if there were something with skill expression to gain speed boosts outside of adjusting the sail. Chases have been pretty stale for a long time on both ends and all ship sizes. This would possibly fuck up balance but how balanced is the game anyway. I'd also say the same for a new experimental weapon or changing how loadouts are done entirely. The disney stick didn't break the game so if done correctly they could add something at least for a season to shake things up.
Either way this past season has been my favorite in a long time. I finally went from 1k to 1.3k hours when I had barely played in a couple years

The issue is nothing is internally modelled, but that isn't impossible to fix. Would just take a long time. There's already other bodygroups, what's one more?

for the conch maybe you could require it to charge in ocean water to be used so that it has a slight windup before use
