I love how that guy had a Sunsword that he used to take out the spawn in the coffin but then put it away in favor of an axe to fight the fully awake and alert spawn that snuck up on them. A friendly reminder that Intelligence should not be a dump stat.
in dnd the sunsword for this module gets weaker everytime you use it so makes sense
We played Curse of Strahd and decided to not use it at all when fighting anything that has ANY chance of running away and reporting to Strahd - we esentially didn't want him to know that we had it, so maybe that's similar

@@magua9563 It's not even a twist. Strahd is a master troller when he wants to be. He might actually send an invitation that more or less says "I'm quite hungry, come to the castle already food!"

It could be fun solo. MMO is d&d with video game graphics, which is awesome, don’t get me wrong. Its just that you can become easily entranced by something that’s built around one player.

Pathfinder Kingmaker was really fun and i spent weeks playing and replaying it..
one day technology will be so amazing that we can build D&D as a virtual reality game with all the random chaos of actually playing to virtual reality

Best campaign D&D ever had. Surpassed only by the offshoot Masque of the Red Death. (Think D&D but in the real world, during the late 1800's. Ever wanted to have your paladin use guns on the undead? Ever wanted to have your mage help with a train robbery? All doable in that campaign.)

This makes a great trailer for a curse of Strahd game too. Streamed it to my group just before we got started.
Love the voice artist , she's Superb ! Perfect casting , got my attention immediately , along with the great visuals and effects . A Winner !.
My friends and I just started a Curse of Strahd campaign. I will definitely be playing this after the campaign is over.
I can’t remember the title, but there is a great Ravenloft book where Lord Soth from the Dragonlance/Krynn universe goes to Strahd’s universe. Awesome ensues.

@@arlanengin6904 Yeah, unfortunately you have to play Neverwinter in order to play this Ravenloft campaign. Neverwinter online is a disgrace to D&D.

When will developers get away from this whole mmo thing and go back to single player games?
When money disappears
When people stop calling a $100 single player rpg completely absurd while dishing out $500-$5000 in microtransactions over a year on an mmo for some skins. It doesnt even make any financial sense to do a single player quality experience when people will pay twice as much for a monocle accessory and you’ll get lambasted for charging even $60 (and especially anything over).
Nice, can't wait when it pops up on Steam!
D&D is an amazing game I really wish they make something as fun as the pen and paper version. the worst part of D&D is organising friends and a DM to play with.

I find the warning about blood strange. After all, as a child, I saw plenty of blood, whenever I or others fell over in the school playground or on the street and cut ourselves on the hard ground, etc.. Who is the warning for? People living in a bubble?

The video game might be bad, but the campaign in the book is one of their best yet!
Want a great adventure campaign, try Desert of Desolation: Pharaoh I3 (There are five levels to explore in the pyramid, and a large exterior temple), Oasis of the White Palm I4 , Lost Tomb of Martek I5.
Ravenloft was the best demiplane. Count strad was to he best vamp ever
And yet DDO's version of it is way better.... Strange huh?

This is Ravenloft. The demi-plane of Dread has realms that behave very much as the fortune teller says and the lands' masters may be trapped by their realms but they are also maintained by said realms. (Incidentally, anyone notice Strahd arrived holding the Mists card?)

Congrats. Don't know how many times I ran parties through it in AD&D, but it always had the same result -- they never survived. Problem is that once you have played the PnP version, no video game is going to cut it. Nor is the 4e NWN rule set ever something which can capture the actual horror and challenging nature the module has in 1E, 3.5e, or 5e.
Congrats! My party and I also recently beat Curse of Strahd and we managed to restore the grave of Argynvost and bring the sun back to Barovia! Yay happy ending.
I once had a party that defeated Strahd with a hare brained scheme involving a snake, a magic sword, and two bags of holding.
Nothing says the fire conflict with Strahd like collecting 13 snake skins or grinding the Bonegrinder over and over to get the Sunblade to drop, or rather A Sunblade as dozens of dudes will already have it.

- Reality: Is just an expansion to another mind numbing, WoW-looking online MMO.

One of the best module in neverwinter. The hunt system is so fun. It's grinding. But fun. I can feel the atmosphere in barovia, especially when night has fallen.
Too bad nothing can save this game from being what it is: an MMO.
I miss when Ravenloft was an official D&D setting full of pastiches of classic gothic villains.
You don't have to miss it. Ravenloft still exists for you to enjoy!

if you don't mind going old school, Ravenloft: Sarah's Invitation and Ravenloft: Stone Prophet were both considered amazing games for their time (early 90s) and received great reviews!
I'm mildly annoyed at the timing of this release considering I am about to run a Curse of Strahd adventure.

Playing a D&D campaign wiht buddies on discord and roll20, running the Curse of Strahd module, they've just cleared the St Andral's church Feast event, and got their hands on Argynvost skull, now to deal with the aftermath of the event in town and bring the skull back to Argynvostholt, Oh and they only managed to Kill 2 of the Night hags in the Old Bonegrinder, the 3rd one escaped and is on the loose, looking for them...
Those are some big spoilers....Should probably add that to the start of your comment

My players drowned Baba lysaga in her blood tub( aced their stealth checks) and wiped out the hags in old bonegrinder. They took a shortcut past argynvost and want to explore it later. Right now they're looking for the third ww gem
How about a real game instead of a MMO?
Pay2win game, don't waste your time. Go play something else, i've played this game and the PVP's are straight up slaughter for non-paying users, quest take triple the time with out bought items and what nots... You might think you have the capital to win at this game until you go 1 vs 1 with a Arabian oil-cheq son's whose character is fully kitted-out with of epic items that can only be, in a practical sense, bought.
