Odiare - Think Children of the corn; you aren't a kid forever, and very bad things happen to kids who near their adult years, so maybe your character saw the writing on the wall, and fled the city/domain just before reaching 17/18th birthday.
The Carnival is not the only non-stationary domain. Cyre 1313 lightning rail from Eberron derailed and took alot of passengers with it. Its the only domain created through a massive disaster. Its travels around ravenloft unhindered on its ghost rails.
My favorite Ravenloft character is a half-elf Barovian Warlock pacted to Strahd under duress, sent out beyond Barovia into the Mists in search of Tatyana's reincarnation. He dares not turn her into one of his thralls due to a prophecy from Madam Eva, that she would bring his beloved to him so long as she remains untouched by living death. He has her family held hostage as leverage to ensure her compliance, and she seeks allies to help her free her family, either by finding Tatyana's reincarnation or ending Strahd himself.
I wanted to make a human swashbuckler rogue, using Polish saberfighting as an inspiration, who's noble bloodline had influences with the vistani but not necessarily affiliated to them, for better or worse. How he ended up in Ravenloft's a mystery but one thing's for certain he will give creatures of the night what for castlevania style with his saber (a reflavored rapier). His name would be Jozef Sevenko.
There were a few other old domains that moved around like the Carnival. Two of the more notable were a ghost pirate ship called "the relentless" and a theater called "Scaena".
I haven't gotten to play D&D but I've created several characters to play in Ravenloft, I've created a Dhampir who is an archfey warlock, if you think about it the class is perfect to represent a vampire
@@TheClericCorner I first became obsessed with Curse of Strahd and then this book not only expanded parts of that but added even more. The variety of the official ones is amazing. As well as the options for players it had some of my favorite styles and plots. Great video again
Do you have any ideas of a Kenku Bloodhunter? I’m thinking he’s from Hazlan, with an Igor type role where he aided his master to create a monster but the monster killed his master and now wishes to kill the Bloodhunter for unknown reasons. What do y’all think? Any suggestions?
I think you may play it as a Penny Dreadful Monster of Frankenstein. One that passes as an excentric humanoid. To preserve this new “normal” life they want to keep the secret hidden forever by killing your kenku. For the Kenku I’d play it as he saved what he could from the lab (as it was burning down when the monster attacked the doctor), and by his excellent memory he can recreate the science and alchemy of his master. The product of the alchemy can be reflavored blood potions with wild effects that potentiate life or mix genes to other monstrosities. Or some scientific mechanisms may produce a “Hulk” when activated into your bloodhunter abilities, a painful process. If it was me I’d have the motivation of the kenku to preserve the science of my master.
@@castbet9183 yeah! The original Mary Shelley is great inspiration. In it the motivation of Adam (the monster) is to procure himself a partner and then kill Victor (the doctor). You have a lot of possibilities, from tragic to scary or epic, for inspiration of the myth of Frankenstein. But focus on what is more interesting for you and play your character’s strength (as is the perfect memory of kenkus, for example) but overall have fun with your story :)
@@TheJulioToboso my Bloodhunter died was eaten by Vampires. Now I had to make a new character I’m a Tiefling Cleric of: Life, Grave, or maybe Light. I’m stuck on a possible backstory for him any suggestions guys?
@@castbet9183 Damn So sad that it was so quick. You have any concept for the cleric? Grave clerics can be very creepy and cool, obsessed with getting undeads where they belong. Life and light are more standard characters, basically what you think when you think Cleric. Depends on what story you want to build.

how many deities would be available for a cleric born and raised in barovia? I've been toying around with the concept but it feels hard to fit in since the gods supposedly have no power. could I use the dark powers?
New player here. I'm interested in playing castle ravenloft bord game however I would like to play with other heros characters. Any tips on where to look to find either pre generated chacter or resources to make my own.
