I think Jim was in a great mood, for take your kid to work day. Sun was out, daughter was along, Brenda packed a nice lunch, sled was working great. Who won’t be acting 20 ish again.
Love the teasing and humor shared in this video! Who says you can't work and have a bit of fun while you accomplish your goals? I also loved the camera angle from in front of the horses while Jim loaded the sled and used the chainsaw, because I enjoy seeing the horses' soft eyes and their ears shifting back and forth like antennae . Great video perspective work as always from Brenda that makes us feel as if we're there.
Wow! I have been watching Dave Engels for a long time and I am glad you are aware of him. Love to watch both of your videos, and admire both of you talented, hard working guys! Thanks!
Good evening Jim,Brenda and Abbey, well this was indeed a very good video and nothing went wrong yipeeee 😆 So lovely to see the girls having a laugh 😂 Jim that was very impressive and the horses seem to pull that lot with no problem what so ever, and not out of breath .... yes great video thankyou. All the very best dear friends 💞
HA HAHA Jim is feeling like a bit of banter in this edition. Great to see you all together. I must say I do like the way the sleds are coupled together. Looks to me like Bill and Ken are getting along well.
Love it when the equipment, animals, humans and weather conditions all align perfectly! I’m envious of your beautiful day in the woods. Thanks for sharing!
So great to see the sleds working well and the sunshine bringing out the humourous side to it all! Life certainly has to be seriously safe but isn't it great to enjoy family out in the beauty God has given us?! Thank you ❤️😊!
What a wonderful video to just turn the sound off and take a quiet ride through the woods with Jim and the horses. Beautiful scenery. You do miss the sound of the horses.
6:30....Jim is too funny.... It's been warm here too, but winter is coming back this weekend apparently. Appreciate the videos with this sled...we have a set of bobsled bunks and now know what to do with them!
........Hello to Jim, Brenda, and Abby from Australia. What a fun video, and the performance of the new sled was MOST impressive. I am looking forward to the "drone in the woods" video contribution from Abby soon. Malcolm
What an incredible way of life. I still remember all the memories. Ken and Bill definately look like a much quieter team. Stand and wait patiently. Always enjoy your videos. Especially the mother, daughter talk and laughter.
Hi Jim, Brenda, and so nice to see you Abby. This was a great video, so nice to be in the beautiful sunny woods, with you guys. The sled worked great with Ken And Bill, great job on the sled Jim!!. GOD BLESS, Jim Nova Scotia, Canada.
Enjoyed as always! Like how you all have gotten use to being on camera and Jim's goofing around with the peavy really shows! Ha ha!! Just great seeing you all having fun! Oh yeah, the sled really works great. Very educational as well.
Another great video Jim Brenda and Abby, glad the mods to the sled worked out ok. and as far as Engles Coach and Dave I have been watching him for years now. small world isn't it. guess YT makes that possible. go watch his video's on making the Borax Wagons. I'm sure Jim and Brenda will remember the old TV program Death Valley Days. depicting 20 mule team Borax wagons, well Dave built two new ones and the water Trailer to go along with them and they are now in the original place for permanant use and display. parades etc. Thanks for sharing ECF
Thank you everyone. I really enjoyed this video. I was amazed how gently Jim placed the logs onto the sled. It seemed like the excavator was an extension of his arm and hand.
Jim, I live not too far south of the big woods of Mn&WI.There many stores about old days when logging started for the first time. There were many stories about a big man and the animal that helped him cut and skid many many logs in a day .Paul Bunyan and Babe would would be proud of how you work in the woods!! Stay safe with those big logs. Thanks 😊.
I never miss a video from Engle's Coach Shop. Dave Engle is an incredible craftsman . He has built huge wagons from scratch and repaired coaches that are over one hundred years old that are true basket cases. I highly recommend his channel, along with yours.
I was so jealous of the fun ride Brenda and Abbey were enjoying.❤️🙂Beautiful day to spend in the woods. Being in the woods has always felt like therapy to me. I really enjoy all these videos. I learn so much. Thanks
That sled is a good idea my late dad had a single sled on a farm with think one big black horse think it’s name was prince from memory Abby is a very beautiful young lady and funny to just love what she does
Its good to see you guys working together, its never a dull moment with you. Great job unloading those logs by hand Jim. I have a saying for you to use when someone challenges you to unload by hand "Challenge accepted" thats what my Daughter says to me on if something is going to be a bit of a challenge for her. LOL Such a great family Keep up the great work. Your doing a great job! Good to see you too Abby.
I'm glad Dave was able to help you with the bobsled. He is amazing at what he does. I always wanted a bobsled. Sleighs are so easy to turn over (trust me, I've done it) and can be disastrous when you do it (the one I overturned came back in baskets), but bobsleds are supposed to be much more stable. I know this wasn't your ideal team for the winter, but I think being forced to make it work is improving both horses. Bill is finally learning to relax, and Kenny is learning to pick up the pace a little. Aren't you glad you don't have to load the sled with a peavy and ramps?
I always love to hear the chains on the sleds, takes me back to when I was a kid . I’d be waiting on the landing for dad to come back from unloading, it was always so silent and crisp in the mornings. When I could hear the chains , I knew He was really close to returning. Not like today when you can hear the engine running at all times and the smell of exhaust. The only sounds and smells back then both came out of the back of a horse😂
I always enjoy you and Brenda’s videos. I actually thought the sled was working quite well in the last video ( shows you how much I know). I love the horses and as a city slicker I’ve learned a lot ( knowledge never to be used) but a person never knows too much. Even though it’s called, “ Working Horses With Jim” I always enjoy your sawing of wood. So please fit another sawmill video into the mix when you feel it’s appropriate. As you know, always watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸 No Snow Just Breeze ! 🌴
A beautiful video, and the gals always add a bit of 'spice'. 🙂 Thought we might hear a duet. Happened to view an old Brushton Church Video, and Brenda was in the Praise Team . So I know she, like the girls can sing.
I just watched this 19 Feb 24 . Noticed I did not comment before. I especially wanted to see how the improvements Sam did on the new bobsled using the (old) new tongue devices, not sure what they're called. Anyway Sam has the reach hooked into the front bunk much better now. would like to see that improvement on a similar turn that you make in this video. Nice work All!
So, Abby has to help Dad because she needs lumber from Dad for her house!! (Just Kidding!) your getting your sled ride after all! Sleb seems to be working good now! The Women crack me up sometimes!! No money exchanged, you have to work it off! Good job on unloading by hand!
Great video work. It is like being in the woods with the noise, cold & I think I smell horse sweat. Ok, maybe not the sweat on a cold day, just memory sensory. Thank you!
Hey Jim and Brenda, great video as always, thanks for sharing. You mentioned that you comunicated with Dave Engels, He runs his coach shop in Joliet, Montana. I subscibed his channel over 3 years ago since he has rebuild a set of huge borax wagons. Dave knows everything about any types of horse drawn coaches. Greetings from Germany
Did anyone notice the horses ears pointing back toward Jim waiting for his voice command when he was messing with the cart? I suspect, (don't know for sure) that the reason the cart sticks to the ground is when its moving, the runners heat up from friction, melt to the ground, and then freeze.
The Sled is a good Idea, looks like you're moving more timber easer on your Team and you, Dave Engels Coach Shop is in Joulat Montana and His Brother-in-law Rick lives nearby and does Horse Drawn Carriage Lamp restoration and make fantastic Carrargh Lamps at the Luminary Shop, lots of fun watching TH-cam Videos from both..
if that log was too heavy for the excavator ,isn't it too heavy for the horses? glad to see you have the ladies with you..if Abby sitting in the snow meditating? lov ya'll
Jim take a chain welder flat plate with a hole drill out for your steel rod . Them cross your chain like a X HOOK up behind your front bundle. Like a choke chain hook up on your chain . It’s fast and easy to under hook or length out the back bundle for different length of logs Jim .
This is so interesting to watch! What a beautiful winter day in the woods! I am amazed that the horses stand so still with all the noise of the chain saw and the log loader! and was this Baron? Thank you all for this great video! (watching from Pismo Beach, CA where there is no snow)
Seems like Jim was in high spirits today...a beautiful day in the woods!
I think Jim was in a great mood, for take your kid to work day. Sun was out, daughter was along, Brenda packed a nice lunch, sled was working great. Who won’t be acting 20 ish again.
Thank you Jim Brenda and Abby. When the lady’s arrived the sun started to shine❤❤❤

You are a risk taker sir! Atleast two jabs about being over loaded. Lol. The women took it well lucky for you. Keep safe stay well!
Thanks Jim and Sam for rehabilitation of the old logging sleigh .Those old logging teamsters really knew what they were doing .Cheers
So great to see the sleds working well and the sunshine bringing out the humourous side to it all! Life certainly has to be seriously safe but isn't it great to enjoy family out in the beauty God has given us?! Thank you ❤️😊!
I never tire of seeing the beauty that surrounds you, including your horses and family 😂 🙏❤️
Brilliant production; loved when Abbi said 'Welcome to working horses with Dad', priceless!
I love how Brenda is constantly translating Manspeak.
Hello Jim, Brenda and Abby. I get so tickled listening to you all banter back and forth, typical family stuff.
Always waiting for Abby to break out into song, her voice is so lovely. I’m also glad Jim didn’t refer to Brenda and Abby as hauling deadwood.
What a wonderful video to just turn the sound off and take a quiet ride through the woods with Jim and the horses. Beautiful scenery. You do miss the sound of the horses.
Love your videos. Jim working the horses. May the Lord bless and protect you and Brenda and the horses

Loved the banter back and forth. The sunshine makes everything seem brighter and everyone’s mood a bit lighter.
Poor Jim with all his distractions!!! But he still manages to crack some jokes.
Enjoyed as always! Like how you all have gotten use to being on camera and Jim's goofing around with the peavy really shows! Ha ha!! Just great seeing you all having fun! Oh yeah, the sled really works great. Very educational as well.
Looks like the horses are having a conversation
The tool Jim used to unload seems much faster than using the skid steer. Beautiful spending time in the forest with the Gordons.
Jim you sure were waund up today. look out for those 2 lovely ladies .
Another great video Jim Brenda and Abby, glad the mods to the sled worked out ok. and as far as Engles Coach and Dave I have been watching him for years now. small world isn't it. guess YT makes that possible. go watch his video's on making the Borax Wagons. You Gals should get Skis or snow boards and hook up to the rear of the sled! ⛷
What a pretty day in the woods. Looks like the snow is cooperating and all is pulling easy. Thank you Abby Brenda and Jim. Take care.
That was awesome! Love to see other loving their life. Isn’t that the way it should be? Thanks so much for sharing the love
Thank you everyone. I really enjoyed this video. I was amazed how gently Jim placed the logs onto the sled. It seemed like the excavator was an extension of his arm and hand.

Loved the different flavor of this video!! Lol!! I'm impressed with you unloading the logs by hand!! Glad The gals suggested it!! 👍😊

great to see the ladies going for sled ride, with Jim.

Was in Dave's shop back in 98 he was very interesting told us how he fixed the wagons from the movie far and away which was filmed by billings area
That sled is a good idea my late dad had a single sled on a farm with think one big black horse think it’s name was prince from memory Abby is a very beautiful young lady and funny to just love what she does

Beautiful scenery 😊 They pulled the five logs on the sled like nothing, awesome!
Awesome camera work Branda !
A beautiful video, and the gals always add a bit of 'spice'. 🙂 Thought we might hear a duet. Happened to view an old Brushton Church Video, and Brenda was in the Praise Team . So I know she, like the girls can sing.

Love this video! Thanks for keeping the camera on the team while they were resting. They are so good just standing and waiting. 👍
Did anyone notice the horses ears pointing back toward Jim waiting for his voice command when he was messing with the cart? I suspect, (don't know for sure) that the reason the cart sticks to the ground is when its moving, the runners heat up from friction, melt to the ground, and then freeze.

I just love watching your videos! Found you about a month ago and binge watching ever since.
Jim makes taking the logs off by hand make it look easy!
I enjoyed the girls' banter and Jim's stories! Can't wait to see the drone pictures!
Salut from Brunswick, Maine, US.
Great video Jim, glad to see you had company in the woods today. Always nice to see family doing things together
And yes, I agree. Never seen Jim so jovial.😉
The work done at Engels coach shop in Montana is amazing
I enjoy all the videos, but loved the family banter and beautiful scenery! Great to see you. 😉
What a tranquil sled ride
Welcome to working comedy with Jim. This was a great video 😂
Abbey asking about saskesquach haha
Awesome video. Great camera perspectives
I love the music of the chains as the horses pull. Such good memories evoked.
Nother good job keep up the good work and I’ll keep watching
Great fix for the sled, love how the simplest thing can make such a big difference
if that log was too heavy for the excavator ,isn't it too heavy for the horses? glad to see you have the ladies with you..if Abby sitting in the snow meditating? lov ya'll
Looking like you guys having some family fun Love your videos
Seems to work well to load with the excavator. The thumb appears to be redesigned, so it becomes more of a grip.
