I feel you, it would have been nice to have this announced a bit earlier. But the “old” scouts still look amazing and I bet it’s hard to tell the power difference since I don’t think it’s a massive upgrade. Ride safe!
That’s fair! I just liked the idea of taller bars and the smaller tire on the rogue. But all Indians look amazing, they don’t have a single bike that looks bad in my opinion.
I think I commented on another one of your videos before, but I had a Rebel 500, just like the one you have, before upgrading to a Rogue exactly like the one in this video. You touched on most of the things I noticed when I got my bike. Longer gears, heavier, more planted than a Rebel. I liked my Rebel 500 a lot, it was a great bike, but it struggled once you got to about 65 MPH and it felt very sketchy at those higher speeds like the wind was going to blow the bike out from under you. But any roads with a 55mph or less speed limit, it was great. The new gen Scout Rogue is the "Sport Scout" which has all the cool electronic features I wished the Rogue had and I kind of wish I'd waited for that, but I do still think the older generation of Scout looks a little better than the new one with the exception of the new Scout 101. THAT is one sick bike!
Yeah, I find it hard to tell what I like better. I really love the look of the old generation scouts, but some of the features that the new ones have are so nice. For sure, the Rebel 500 is totally capable, but you can feel where you start hitting its limits at 75+ mph. Ride safe, appreciate the thoughts!
The fifth gear is the same on the Scout and the 60. They took the fourth gear out of the 60. So you’re cruising RPM on the highway is going to be the same on either bike. I prefer the five speed less shifting makes life easier.
Interesting, that’s fair! I’m sure the 60 is plenty highway capable and you don’t feel the lack of power by only having 5 gears as you do on other bikes. Cheers!
Great video! I am getting Scout Rogue in two weeks, I am really excited! it's a great motorcycle. Really smooth, looks beautiful, has a lot of power, the engine is the most beautiful one I've ever seen. The seat was surprisingly low when I first sat down on it.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! That is so exciting, congratulations on getting your scout rogue! I have the exact same thoughts, no one else makes an engine look as nice as Indian does with the scout, it’s incredible. And I was really surprised at how low it sat as well. Ride safe, let me know how you like your new bike when you get it!!
@@evergreenmoto thank you! I always wanted a harley, since I was a kid, but when I looked at the Indian motorcycles, even the Chiefs, they looked so much better. When I test rode one a while back, I found the levers to be hard to squeeze, what was it like for you? I'll let you know, for sure!
@@evergreenmoto an update like you asked - Got the bike, but wasn't able to ride much because weather has been terrible. Rain + tires = accidents. But there were few nice days that I managed to get some riding. The Scout Rogue is amazing. I wasn't sold on the hanged mirrors at first but they grew on me. The power is insane too. I have to get used to it how much power it has, but it is a pleasure to ride!
@@JediCore I didn’t seem to have any issues with the levers. It did feel a little bit harder than what I’m used to, but the Rebel slipper clutch is so easy haha so I’m a bit spoiled.

Thinking about it! I would love to try a shadow someday, but currently I’ve got the Rebel 500. It would be really fun to have an Indian one day for sure.
Think ima go straight for the indian as my first bike... the rogue 60 appealed to me cosmetically but i really want to have the ability to ride with the bae and i dont think the profile will work for us.. i think the regular indian scout rogue might be better.. then the rogue 60 ..
@@XxSilverPhoenix yeah, I suggest going to a dealership and checking them out if you can/haven’t already. But the extra power in the regular Scout would help for sure!
If I remember correctly the 5speed 60 and the 6speed you were on have the same final drive. Meaning on the highway or at top gear cruising they would feel the same. So if the 60 in more in the budget your not giving as much up there.
Thanks for sharing, I didn’t know that! I’ll need to look into the 60 more and see how it does on the highway in general. So then you loose out on some torque and acceleration with the 60, but the top speed is similar? Interesting! Thanks for the comment.
@@evergreenmoto I just double checked the specs. 5th and 6th are very similar but not exactly the same. 1st, 2ed, 3rd, are the same. So really just missing out on some mid range
@@evergreenmoto The RPM and miles per hour are the same as the regular scout. But the 60 has a top speed of about 100 miles an hour and I think the regular scout will do close to 120. It’s the same everything but about 20 more horsepower than the 60. I don’t think I’d want to go north of 100 mph on a scout anyway, lol.
Upgraded from a 400 to the 1100 scout rogue, so happy with it. I only wish I had waited until next years scout lineup with 1250s.
I kind of feel the same way. But honestly I don't think the new bikes add much performance wise over the old ones.

A fun ride and interesting commentary. Decidedly the equivalent of the 1100, not the 500.
Thank you! For sure, much closer to the 1100 than the 500, I just wanted to mention a few things since I currently ride the 500.
you can get a reduced reach seat, so it will put you closer to the bars.
That’s a good call, as long as I can find one that is comfortable for long rides, I’ll be happy with a reduced reach seat.
You should try Moto Guzzi V7. I change rebel 500 to MG v7 and I love it!
