Always loved Margaret Rutherford ever since I was a child, she was a true one off.
This is without a doubt one of the best documentaries I have watched in recent times and a fitting tribute to the dear lady.
A tale of tragedy, triumph, and sadness.....but what really shines through is her beautiful heart.
    Definitely worth watching.

To me this lovely, funny, wonderful lady was Miss Jane Marple and no one ever came close to her acting this part. I was only 6 when this lady died, but i have watched and watched and rewatched all that she was ever in.It's so sad to see that she went down hill so much and that someone took advantage of her wonderful nature. It is only a few years ago that i found out that she was actually married to Stringer Davis, but it is so lovely to see just how much they actually cared for each other. Thank you to all that contributed to this program, as it let a grown up wee girl see and understand what happened to her childhood heroine.

She is my all time favorite Miss Marple. There’s a scene in “Murder at the Gallop” where she’s dancing the Twist and giving the young people in the scene a run for their money.

Dame Margaret died when I was 6 years old. It wasn't long before my parents bought a TV. By the age of nine I was hooked on Miss Marple and Margaret Rutherford. Absolutely loved her bravado and performance. I still love her movies today. A great sleuth and eccentric actress, with an abundance of enthusiasm for her artistry. Thoroughly enjoyed these interviews and biography. Made me just like her even more. A sad beginning to her life, but what a winner! Thank you for upload. Amazing. ❤

What a beautiful video on a very delightful Lady. Margaret Rutherford will forever be “Miss Marple”. What a story of tragedy and trauma even after her death. I live in The United States of America in the state of California and very much appreciate the sharing of this video on TH-cam but also the sharing of her multiple movies. It was done, in my opinion, with taste and honesty. Even though she had tragedy and trauma she was strong to live her best life. Thank you Margaret Rutherford ❤

Dame Margaret Rutherford filled a unique position in the British spectrum of performers. She is truly missed from their landscape. Her lovely soul shone through making us all warm to her. I have utterly adored Margaret Rutherford since I was a small child. She was the masterful embodiment of delightfully communicative facial expressions and had immaculate timing. If I had a time machine I'd ask her to play the Doctor in Doctor Who - she'd be deliciously eccentric and otherworldly, as well as a captivating presence.

There is a percentage of people who know it will upset kindly, normal people. It is the same person that tears legs off spiders for amusement, who sets out to upset someone just because they seem happy..
I have read that thumbs down actually help the video more than doing nothing. The more 'action' - good or bad, gets yt algorithms to offer the video to more people.
It is really something to ignore - not to worry about. Your distress is what these awful people hug to themselves, in glee. Ignoring it as totally unimportant is the best response

Despite the adverts and some odd stylistic choices, that was a lovely documentary. I didn't know Damaris Hayman was a good friend to her (in her Doctor Who appearance she wears what is possibly one of Margaret's cloaks with the scarf attachment). The archive interview is so sweet. Margaret won my heart as a child seeing Murder At The Gallop, she had a vague resemblance to my Nan so it was like my Nan was Miss Marple. SO many great performances.

When I was a child, I saw her performance in Blithe Spirit and was entranced! I had never seen a British actress --usually reserved, cool, articulate and formal -- come across as vital, quirky, and bursting with energy with disregard to "image" or perception (someone else's) limitation to what a character could be. What an inspiration.

She was totally HILARIOUS in 'The VIPs' as the dotty Duchess of Brighton. She's in her seat on the plane she calls out: "Conductress, kindly take my hat and put it in the hold!" Her delivery of all her funny lines had me in absolute stitches...she was the star of the show, competing as was with Elizabeth Taylor's breathtaking beauty. The film was really brilliant...track it down if you have not seen it. A young Maggie Smith is hopelessly in love with her boss, Rod Taylor...but I"ll never forget Margaret's brilliance!

Poor Margaret, what a lovely lady. Her memory loss was so sad, the devotion that Stringer had for her, was so touching. It's sad to see a once vibrant woman, end this way. Margaret & Stringer gave so much happiness to people. It's sad tho that some people tried to take such advantage of them. Her & Stringer are finally together again. May you both rest in peace.

Oh, do you think it's sad? I have the feeling you think something is sad. (She and Stinger are... not 'her and Stringer.') Why do people always refer to old people as 'vibrant' when they are not absolutely drooling wrecks?

As a child I LOVED her as Miss Marple, and that love never went away.
Not even when I grew up to read the actual books of Agatha Christie, and the Miss Marple in those books was so very different.
Within me they lived happily next to each other, the book Miss Marple and THE Miss Marple (to me) from the movies. :)
Loved Margaret Rutherford in many other movies too. Like in The Mouse that Roared and so on. But also in much older movies from before the Miss Marple ones. She truly was always herself.
Other actors temporary became the role, with her the roles permanently became her

Why do people say she is ugly. I'm young and I definitely wouldn't ever call her ugly. That is so wrong in so many ways. It's cruel. She was a sweetheart. With great compassion for people. I see her as a warm and loving person. I don't know what other people think . Let me know. I'm curious who defines someone ugly. Are they looking at themselves and not liking what they see about themselves.
