You need the insulation in your attic otherwise it can cause a bunch of problems. The insulation that you had was fine it’s called blown in insulation and it discolors overtime but it’s fine. Lack of insulation will cause an influx of warm air and that can lead to condensation to form on the sheathing and then that leads to mold plus your house will be colder in the winter and hotter in the summer
You can rent a insulation vacuum to suck out that nasty blown in loose fill insulation. Maybe Home Depot or contact a local insulation company. But remember you will need to INSULATE your attic BEFORE laying down all that plywood or your house will be freezing all winter and super hot in the summer. If you don’t have any HVAC up there, you could have spray foam sprayed down onto the sheetrock 3” of closed cell would be best. You could also have the 3” of closed cell sprayed where you will be putting down plywood and open cell (cheaper) sprayed on the other areas (8” of open minimum ). It’s not the cheapest way, but is by far the beat way. Maybe even make a video if you get it done and promote that insulation company with it to save a few $$.

Wouldn't that suck, if you have to go back up there and unscrew everything and put some insulation down because you needed it later I mean might as well just do it now
You guys are so sweet,I just love your videos.. Need to talk to someone about the Attic, what's your best to do...you definitely need some kind of installation, then put plywood over it...Enjoy💜
Thank you so much for giving the trailer to them!! Such the perfect place for it to go too. I volunteer doing transport for rescues in my area. You did a wonderful thing!!!
I'm so happy for the cats having shelter you guys provided for them. It so refreshing to see humanity at its best. I love my fur babies and just brought some stuff from your site. Living the dream.
So cute to see you nesting Sammy J. We as women are natural mom's who prepare ahead of time for baby to arrive. Remember Finn won't need lots of space to begin with, so you could still share a closet.. Rest when tired and work when you have the energy. Babies have been born for thousands of years were women carried on chores shortly after giving birth. You will base your day on your needs. You have lots of time before Finn is here. Set realistic goals Sammy. For clothing in your size check value village type stores as they all should have maternity wear sections. Lose leggings in med petite size might be fine or petite large for 7-9 mos along. For tops just go up one size as needed. Tucker should close off the attic with plastic to prevent fibres going down stairs. Cover up your head use gloves taped to your sleeves . Peel off your clothes up in attic and put them back on while up there if it becomes 2 days. Removing that nozel on the shop vac might work better. Purging is necessary to move forward. Your goals are awesome. Take one day at a time. It's great that you gave that trailer away. An awesome greatful couple. Thanks for sharing your life. 💕🇨🇦💐
I've been to New Jersey before, when I was over on the east for business purposes in 2004. There was this mall there in New Jersey called Garden State Mall I believe, and they had a couple of maternity shops. But, whether that mall is still there, I don't know. You may want to look for clothes at your thrift store's, or possibly post something on FaceBook asking if anyone has maternity clothes for sale. There are people out that have maternity clothes, and also you might want to check within your community for help with finding what you need. Good luck on this journey with Baby Finn, and your husband. Be safe while out, and about! Love your Channel, and very excited for you both this Baby Journey. Don't over load yourselves with too much at this, do the 5 positives! ❤️ you both, and Baby Finn Laura
Asbestos is dangerous. We had it removed in the form of flooring in a house and they had to close off the room with plastic sheeting and they sucked the air out of the room while doing the demolition. We had to hire a crew to do it.
Sammi try Old Navy at an outlet mall for cheap maternity cloths. Also I’ve known the younger generation to buy plus size tops for maternity tops. Buy larger pant with elastic waists. Tucker you will need to insulate that attic with something to keep heating and air conditioning costs down but you probably knew that. Also so happy for the kitties that will have protection from the elements. Great gift. After 2 years without cats we just rescued 2 black fluffy brother and sister 6 years old whose owner had passed. They are bringing us so much joy. Love you both. From the 2 Old Farts.
Yo Tucker, in your previous video you mentioned that your house heater has trouble keeping up in colder temperatures and how your house gets cold. In this video when you were up cleaning your attic insulation out, it looked very poorly insulated and it appeared that you removed the insulation. I'll bet you if you reinsulated your attic with at least R13 or higher insulation, your heater wouldn't have issues keeping up and that your heating bill would go down during the cold winter months. Without insulation, the heat inside you house is just going out into the cold outside.
Yes you definitely need insulation in the attic. Not only for the heating and cooling costs difference, but without it, your ceiling and walls will sweat in the summer. It's something to do with how hot an attic gets, so when that hot air meets the cold air( from your air conditioning) it will cause condensation. The condensation will ruin your walls and cause mold. It happened in my home.
Hey tucker, nice video my friend. Hey did you find any new VHS tapes? Better start picking up some for the little one.VHS tapes will keep ur little one busy for hours.👍Your gonna be a great dad.I think ur doing a great job keeping ur wife happy during her pregnancy. 👍Peace my friend.✌
Talk about the universe putting those people and you guys together! I know your hearts are full by giving them that trailer for little nuggets. Sammie, I completely get how you are feeling overwhelmed right now. I'm sure you get a ton of advice now, but just listen to your body and try to be patient with yourself. As far as needed extra support for your baby bump as it grows little Finn in it. Check out the bump belts they make. Not sure that's what they're called, but it's a support that goes around your back and helps take the weight. It works wonderfully and you can wear it over or under your clothes. Hope that helps. Love you guys.
From 🇸🇬 Singapore. Its really great you guys gave away the tralier. Its always nice to feel much better after giving away something to a person who wanted it. Call it paying forward..Good Karma..whatever!.. which will get you blessings etc..it does not matter. I believe we only understand so minimally of how life works..anything we don't understand we add it into the relam of God and religion..not entirely bad..but its just that a lot of humanity that exists...is actually above all that...it always works by helping one another..only that religious people may connect it to good deeds etc. Anyways its too complex to explain..and its not necessary either..Just that the needy gets something from some one who can spare what they already have... and your ideas on giving something away resonates with the basic identity we have as a people..beyond nationality, race language religion etc etc..all the what not differences which we should just not see!!...Today we see 🇷🇺 Russia attacking Ukraine..basically bec they feel undermined by 🇺🇦 Ukraine's decision to be part of NATO...so many lives lost and put in peril because of one mad man who convinces his brood to his decision. I want to reflect the sadness with the good that I see from people around the world and what they do..and your act is one good one..that adds hope!. Thank you, to you two..no 3!...Yes..including the baby who is to enter this world and hopefully inherits a better world than today! Best Wishes and better health!! Cheers.!! Cheers.
Maternity clothes 1969 I went to the fabric store picked patterns and fabric (was fun) and my mother and aunt sewed them for me, that is my story /grin
The insulation is there for a reason. If you don't want that kind then you will have to replace it with some other kind. You could just put the boards over the insulation that is what most people do. All your heat will just excape out the ceiling and your bills will go up. Just check online and see why insulation is put up in aticcs.
Put new insulation in or leave the old stuff and go over it with the wood. Insulation reduces your heating and cooling bills and help the house maintain a more even temperature. Check with an insulation contractor. No insulation or insulation installed wrong can damage your house.
Asbestos is in homes built before 1980, law passed in 78 but people could still use old stock until it was gone. It is in the drywall mud, so becareful where drywall comes together- it is dry and will be airborne if disturbed. It is in “popcorn” ceiling, bumpy ceiling, if you cut or even poke it that will make it airborne, to remove you need to get it wet with sprayer then it will come off easy and not airborne. And old lead paint is under many painted walls so be careful with that, and around electrical outlets, if there is drywall mud around the opening that has asbestos in it
It was super cute when Sammi said it was disrespectful of her to put those clothes on crows couch! Oh my heart girl you are so kind. Although I was looking forward to the trailer reno and podcast, it was very thoughtful to donate to a cause that you both feel so much for 💞 p.s. please put new insulation in the attic!
I am so PROUD of you guys for cleaning, clearing, tossing and organizing the house, garage, attic and yard now before it gets hot and Sammie gets into her 3rd trimester. That's the time she is going just want to decorate, rest and nest before Finn comes. You guys are really lucky to have such large backyard imagine it's not going be long before a baby is crawling, walking, playing out there. To have room for a swing is going be incredible. I can picture how beautiful the yard would be with grass back there, the fire pit area barked or gravel so no mud when it rains. When we just did grass, we got little shed also(keep ppl. out of tools) cleared our front porch and pressure washed the house our realtor told us we increased the value by 10-15k. We were very young then so it was just having the time back then around work but after it was finished it was so rewarding. We bought a swing set after grass came in to this day my kids happiest memories are from our yard with their friends at early ages. Keep doing you! You have incredible loving hearts. God bless you both.
You two are so happy! Both mama & papa. FYI --you need to replace the insulation before you put the wood down---had a couple houses. There is a new product on the market---looks like gray/brown cotton batting ---no fiber glass. DIYFFERENT LOOK THEM UP ON YOU TUBE
Sammi j try clothing groups on Facebook. Facebook marketplace has maternity clothes. Just type in tank top or camisole maternity small or xs. Try typing in different things. Go local also. I've gotten free clothes. I buy my grandson clothes on local Facebook groups. Things usually come out to 1.00 a piece. Oh yeah try lot of maternity camisole xs. Unless you want new. Kids resale shops sometimes has a maternity section. Resale shops are good too. Keep all your maternity clothes to wear again. Even if it's five yes down the line. U can always revamp. Love yall. Best Wishes Sammi and Tucker
Ciao SammieJ, Tucker and baby Finn... please be extremely cautious about the removal and depositing of the old ceiling insulation ... please inform the tip workers so it can be disposed of safe and correctly... I'm sure you understand completely how extremely toxic that is even the tiniest airborne particles even on the coveralls when SammieJ hugs you please stay clear SammieJ and Baby Finn. ❤️🙏 We all know how kind, generous, thoughtful and giving you both are your hearts are enormous , keep spreading the love Stay safe and well everyone Ciao Wendy 🇭🇲 in 🇮🇹❤️😘✌️💜
I would try thrift stores, resale shops, goodwill, Marketplace, Craigslist Etc. & then your Walmart, Target, T.G. Maxx & the like and just stick to mainly to stretch & sweat pants for bottoms. I'm petite myself and had a really hard time finding clothes to wear. The real nice stuff I had I bought outright at a specialty maternity store and pretty much lived in stretch and sweat pants and loose tops the rest of the time. I was pregnant before the internet boom so you're definitely at an advantage there 🙂 you ever think of removing the old insulation and blowing some new insulation up there? Help with heating cooling costs. That's great you guys gave away that trailer, you made some kitties day 😻 You guys are gonna be great parents and you're both working towards that realization ✌️💕
It seems overwhelming with baby Finn coming but things will all fall in place. One day at a time. I am so happy to hear the trailer went to a nice couple with a sanctuary.
I'm petite like you, pregnant twice and I found maternity clothes at thrift stores and yard sales. Also look on offer up, FB marketplace, ebay, mercari, poshmark. Love your content. Can't wait to see baby Finn you both will be great parents.
When I was pregnant I took a pair of scissors and cut the zipper out of my pants and sewed in some elastic material and for my tops I cut the side seam of the tops and sewed a triangle piece of coordinating material. I just got goodwill clothes and altering then like that. If you can not see them go to cleaners and ask who they use to alter their things.
How great it was of you to donate your trailer to a cat sanctuary. Right up your style. I do hope that you get some new insulation to put under your roof. Every house needs it. Cant wait to see Finns room and the new shed love you guys. Kiss the babies
Do you have insulation in the roof? It will also help you to insulate between those joyces with rolled insulation, to keep your house warm. Then lay down your floor. If you throw a floor down now, you will be ripping it up later to insulate, especially when your heating bills go sky high! No good!
Tucker I noticed that you have a couple of trees growing quite close to your house on the side of it.You might want to remove these as the roots will cause problems for your homes foundation the bigger the trees get. Just an idea and I am sure you have thought of this already. So excited to see you getting everything ready for baby Finn.💖💞💖
Turner do not take the insulation out of your attic or you will have a very cold and drafty house in the winter, just leave it there and put your flooring over it. It will cost thousands of dollars to get it replaced but it is there to keep the cool in the summer and the cold out in the winter.
@@tuckandsammie Okay, you scared me when I saw you removing it, you can buy the bates of 4" or 6" insulation and just staple them into the open space between the joists before you put the plywood down.
You need insulation in your attic for keeping your house warmer. Clothes in the attic, is not a good idea, moisture will make them mold, and destroy them. Your heating bill in fall and winter will go very high witg no insulation.
Tucker, the insulation is there for a reason. Looks like it was already needing replaced, but you are making a serious mistake by not insulating your ceiling.
We already have the replacement insulation but yes I should have put it under the boards I put down. We are for sure planning to replace the insulation.
When you store stuff in the attic, put your things in mouse-proof containers.. We use plastic bins and they seem to work really well. Good luck. Loved the trip to Florida!
Sammi J. I just had to go to Old Navy Sale Day and buy you some tops for the next few months. Like you and Tucker gave the Camper to that nice couple, I want to give you and Finn this gift so you are more comfortable. Look out they might be at your house tomorrow..Love you guys so much and the enjoyment I get from you two🥰 Grandma Sharon
Sammi, turn thrift stores and market place for mat clothes. If you can't find any buy larger normal clothes. I am sure you can put your on design to them.
Tucker. You can use recycled materials for your insulation. I think you will want to keep it warm in the winter. Insulation can get gross , but you can replace it with new clean insulation.
Huge thumbs up. Dusting your skin w/baby powder makes fiberglass slide off rather than entering your pours. Avoid talc, choose corn starch based. Sammie? Your skin, nails, hair and teeth are on point. *Thank you both for demonstrating intentional living!*
You should have just put wood over top of the insulation. I think it’s going to be a big mistake removing all your insulation. In the summer you are gonna burn up and in the winner your furnace run hard trying to keep up.
I believe there's a vacuum for this type of insulation ,just wear protective equiptment. Congratulations on the upcoming baby. Wishing you all the Blessing's your hearts can hold.
If I was your Neighbor, I'd sure help you both, with the chores and projects, within my limits. I just turned 65, but am still very active, and able to do most things. I do all my chores and tasks for the most part, house, yard, cars, and all... Please continue to be safe!
I know I’m too late, but we found out the hard way .. with asbestos.. want to keep it damp with water so it doesn’t go air born.. looks like a great job you did👍🏼 Sammi, might want to order online from Target & not a pick up at store. that way Sammi you will have more choices in maternity🧸 clothes🐈⬛💜 hope that was helpful:)Take care
I would invest in a couple of nice maternity shorts or pants. Look online or Walmart has a few things. I haven’t been pregnant in 35 years but the maternity pants and shorts gave me support. So happy for both of you!
The camper or meeting that couple was not a coincidence for sure. When a dream becomes a burden it will turn into a nightmare, so I totally understand the camper/podcast idea. I think it was such a wonderful idea
That is blown in insulation . Blown in insulation was made after they knew aspestos was a cause of cancer. That blown in insulation is fine and you really need insulation in your attic! Without insulation in your attic your heat will go out quickly and your heating bills will go up!! Talk to a builder about it before you take it all out and get educated about it. It will cost a lot of money to re-insulate your attic. You just threw away a lot of money!!
Please know you’ll need to put back in insulation if you want to keep warm & keep your heating bill down , cooler in summer. Maybe someone would trade labor for item(s) and congrats on the giveaway of the rescue trailer. Love your vids i watch everyone and also congrats on the baby. Take care
Hey Tuck, after vacuuming out the dirty loose insulation, why not roll fresh fiberglass insulation down before laying down the plywood? Standard practice up north, lowers heating bill and makes cozier. Not to mention better for roofing, curbing attic heat helps deter ice berms and varmints from moving in.
One place in Montana where I go and get maternity clothes would be Ross. We also seem to have a great turn out at our thrift shops and good wills. Alot of times when I was pregnant I would just wear over sized items like shirts and dresses which worked fine. It all depends on the cut of the garment. Hope this helps. 🙂😇
You need insulation are your house will sweat and get damp & possible mold so make sure you do insulate it before you nail the floor down heat & cold insulation keeps the house cool in summmer & Warmer in winter. Maybe it my take a little more money so do it at your own timing.
From albatross to animal shelter - good idea! For maternity clothes - thrift stores, online sales, FB Marketplace, etc. I can't recall seeing much of any maternity clothes recently anywhere. I think your attic insulation is just fiberglass, but for stuff you don't know let a pro deal with it. Put down the best insulation you can fit in the space. (the highest R value you can get)
Great video! That was pretty awesome gifting the trailer to such a worthy cause. I myself, have become a hoarder. From ATM in the front yard to a shed full of bicycles and a house full of vintage tangibles. My take away from the video is to gift some of my items to help other; starting today. I love their cat name “Spartacus “ my fur baby is also name Spartacus. On another note, Tucker, I agree with most of the comments regarding placing insulation back in ur attic. You two are doing a splendid job in preparation of FInn. Many Blessings
Re:clothing, I go to the Goodwill thrift every Monday morning $1.96 day. Not sure if you guys have one but I have scored Gold !! No joke , I found a huge gold molar tooty under some fake plants in a basket I pulled out to toss ! Good thing I looked 😉
HI Tucker and Sammie J, awesome content as usual love it, you guys did a good thing giving away the trailer. Keep up the good work 👍 from Dave in Australia your 54 year old fan.
When I was pregnant like forever ago . 🙃 my dr. Told me to just do what I regularly do ! Ha ha , until I fell through the garage roof helping my husband roof it ! Then she had a fit ! But my daughter still believes that her birthmark was from that ! I didn’t fall all the way through I caught myself and just bruised my back ! The dr. Thought my husband hit me with a two by four lol ! He would never 👎 So Just do what you feel you can do because you know what you can do !! Looking forward to seeing you through this epic time of your life 🙋♀️
Hey love to all of you.. Sammie Nest,Nest, you guys have tons of things for kitty kids...its gonna be triple for the baby Fin. Purge while you can sweeties.
I don't know if you watched my videos about the RV camper I converted into a reseller command center. I used roll insulation and it worked great in that space. I bet you guys were stoked to hear Fins heartbeat, that really makes it feel real.
Wow ,that was sweet❤️ good causes &great people, thank you for being so awesome 😎Glad fin is healthy and your all happy,if you look in children's second hand stores, alot of time there's also maternity stuff
My daughter was pregnant a year ago. I found alot of her maternity clothes pretty cheap at the children used clothing resale shops they also carried maternity clothes. And she wore leggings also. And you mentioned target had maternity tank tops you like so look at target online. I also found cute good quality maternity clothes at Ross.

I agree, insulation is a HUGE bang for the buck, summer AND winter AND, it's non-toxic and fairly affordable.

Sammi, try Amazon, search maternity sportswear.
Your house needs the insulation, I would buy roll moisture barrier insulation and put down between the rafters, then put plywood over it, for storage.
Not even two minutes in and already so damn proud of you two. You both have hearts of gold.
Yes it is so true thay are so sweet love them
Thank you it warmed our hearts to hear what they were using the trailer for they deserved it!
That is so adorable 🥰 and sweet of you all !! Meow 🐱 will be warm.
@@tuckandsammie you guys should do a follow up with them, or ask them to send a update video

Go to Goodwill for maternity clothes. They have new clothes sometimes.
You can go to Walmart has a pretty good deal on maternity clothes
Our wal mart didn’t have a good selection.
And old lead paint is under many painted walls so be careful with that, and around electrical outlets, if there is drywall mud around the opening that has asbestos in it
You are both so generous to many people and animals.
you guys are such sweet people, hope you have lots of happiness, and a great life, bless you
Awesome news about the baby
It was super cute when Sammi said it was disrespectful of her to put those clothes on crows couch! Oh my heart girl you are so kind. Although I was looking forward to the trailer reno and podcast, it was very thoughtful to donate to a cause that you both feel so much for 💞 p.s. please put new insulation in the attic!
Hi that’s really kind of you tucker sammie to give your trailer to the little babes god bless you both xx
God bless you both.
don't know if you know it ,but your attic needs in insulation. you can remove it but put back better under the plywood you put down.
Good for you, helping with the cat rescue people. Love, love, love cats. Keep living the dream.
Wonderful giveaway of the trailer.I can't express enough care you two give to others in need.we need more of us givers thanks for sharing this 😀
Ciao SammieJ, Tucker and baby Finn... please be extremely cautious about the removal and depositing of the old ceiling insulation ... please inform the tip workers so it can be disposed of safe and correctly...
If you can not see them go to cleaners and ask who they use to alter their things.
thank you for giving the trailer to a very worthy cause.
hopefully you get the rest of the yard neighborhood friendly as well.
That was the nicest thing you could have done for this couple this will go to the best cause possible.RESPECT. Stay Strong
How great it was of you to donate your trailer to a cat sanctuary. Right up your style. I do hope that you get some new insulation to put under your roof. Every house needs it. Cant wait to see Finns room and the new shed love you guys. Kiss the babies
The two(soon to be three👶)of you are amazing! Giving that couple the trailer for free was inspirational 👍💜
"I don't think they know!" I have been missing that intro, lol! My toddler and I looked at each other and shouted it when we heard it! Love you guys!
I love it too. I also love the intro from a couple years back. Tucker is so good at editing & knowing what music to put to them.
Looking to replace it with new insulation but yes you’re right.
I got mine from resale shops. They have nice stuff and a lot of it.
Always a good call.
What a wonderful thing to give them, the ultimate cat present!
You need to put insulation before you put the pile wood. To save Energy
How very sweet of you. God bless you too.
@@tinabenyo8104 They are always giving and never ask for anything. It is my joy.
love that you gave them the trailer for free for their cats! you should visit their property on a video and see how they ended up using the trailer
Sammi, turn thrift stores and market place for mat clothes. If you can't find any buy larger normal clothes. I am sure you can put your on design to them.
This is why I love you two! The animals that they rescue will have a place of safety after they work on it. Big props to you both!💕
That insulation is blow in insulation it suppose to be that way. I just did my attic with that kind. Just put plywood on top.
Yah we just did it too big improvement he does need to insulate more
Excellent!!!!! You totally caught them off guard. Good people.
How does that happen. Angels and positive energies always unite for the greater cause.
I know I’m too late, but we found out the hard way .. with asbestos.. want to keep it damp with water so it doesn’t go air born.. looks like a great job you did👍🏼
Sammi, might want to order online from Target & not a pick up at store. that way Sammi you will have more choices in maternity🧸 clothes🐈⬛💜 hope that was helpful:)Take care
Put the pad insulation in between the plywood and the ceiling…you will be glad you do! It keeps the cold out and the heat in during the winter.
You're so right Sammi cat people are always cool but I think any kind of animal lover is cool. It shows they have a good soul.
I would throw on some safety glasses to dealing with insulation and any possible bacteria
Hey y'all,good morning/Thursday I'm watching ♥️✌️
Thanks David happy you have continued to follow our adventures! Appreciate the support over there!
He would never 👎
So Just do what you feel you can do because you know what you can do !!
Looking forward to seeing you through this epic time of your life 🙋♀️
Hey love to all of you.. Sammie Nest,Nest, you guys have tons of things for kitty kids...its gonna be triple for the baby Fin. Purge while you can sweeties.
Getting used to being pregnant is just the start of the journey. Momhood is a lifetime. Gratz on making a life for yourself.
I don't know if you watched my videos about the RV camper I converted into a reseller command center. I used roll insulation and it worked great in that space. I bet you guys were stoked to hear Fins heartbeat, that really makes it feel real.
👍❤️. I will clean out some stuff today ! You have inspired me ! 👍❤️
Wow ,that was sweet❤️ good causes &great people, thank you for being so awesome 😎Glad fin is healthy and your all happy,if you look in children's second hand stores, alot of time there's also maternity stuff
That's great that you helped out God's people doing work for God's lil kitties. Bless you two.
Yall thought that that camper was for a different purpose, but the Lord knew all along it was for His key keys.
Very cool guys. Looking good 👍. Take care.
OMGAWD 😂 Sammie the laugh, after you told Tucker his breath smells like the dump… TOO Friggen FUNNY.
bratty
I was laughing at that too… she’s so Cute!
