    I love that "just start typing" quick search feature. I had no idea!
    My favorite secret feature is the ability to drag and drop tasks from multiple windows. It makes organization extra easy, especially moving todos to or from the Today view.

    Do you know if the checkox to complete a project can be disabled like in Todoist? If a project is more like a container and should never be completed?

    • @PeterAkkies
      @PeterAkkies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no way to do that in Things. What you describe is what Areas are for.

    Apple Reminders (2022) and Microsoft ToDo does pretty much all of this and you can share/work with others. What am I missing?

      No clue whatsoever. Not even sure there will be a Things 4. I'd like to think so, but who knows. I wish I knew

    Hey man love your videos. Wondering if you know if things 3 can do “nudge” functions? For example, I have an app called “Due”. It’s not the most built out app but a nice featuer is that you can set it to send a reminder to your apple watch every 5 minutes (or every 30 min or hour or whatever you want) until that task is completed. So this is great for my ADHD to keep me on track for my night routine because, even if you are away from your computer, your to do’s will nag you until they are completed. Do know of any feature like this for things 3?

    • @PeterAkkies
      @PeterAkkies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Rick. Glad to hear you’re enjoying my videos! Things does not have a nudge feature like that, but if you set a time-based reminder, it is somewhat persistent on your phone’s lock screen.

    I always regretted the lack of ‘Tomorrow’ in the sidebar but I’ve learnt from this video that I can have a Tomorrow widget on my phone. If I press it, I go straight into Tomorrow in Things!

    Great video. I didn’t know about any of those features! The one thing that Things 3 is really missing is better tag support, but being able to make a widget that shows all the tasks for a particular tag will be really helpful in that regard.

    I really wish Things would give us the ability to attach images or files to a task/project, etc. Virtually every other task manager app has this feature.

      I just use clean shot to take screen shots, push them to the cloud and copy the link in one click then paste that into the task. Not perfect but works

    First thanks for this excellent video.
    I am a Things 3.0 and Craft user for home, but also for work.
    I find sharing links from Things to Craft interesting.
    In my workflow, tasks are listed by Projects/Areas in Things, but all the specificities are written in Craft (detailed descriptions, photos or workflows, etc.).
    Projects I am going to work on are listed in Craft in two ways.
    1. On an assigned day with a link to Things’ related tasks allowing me to be sharp between the Craft/Project view ans Things/Task view
    2. Craft is also where I structures project elements whiting documents in Folders/Areas
    I hope it’s clear!
    Your video helped me making Things and Craft even tighter
    Thanks again and keep up the good work!

    • @ChrisWidner
      @ChrisWidner ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing this. I was not aware that I could quickly add things from Craft into Things. I've long struggled to link my notes and tasks apps, so I'm excited to try this out more.

    Is there a way to get things to *not* automatically transfer incomplete tasks to the following day’s “Today”? I’d like to start the next day with a clean slate. I’ve certain tasks that repeat daily, and I can end up with three versions of eg “meditate” as they accumulate.

    I like that you can pause a project but it is clunky that you have to save another reminder to re start it.
    Seems like there should be an option to pause until this date option.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually there is. If you have a recurring task/project (every week or so), you can right-click the item->recurring->plan new and set a manual date, say 23rd of Jan 2023 or so and it will show up on the 23rd of January. Don't get to hung up on the exact words. 🙂 I am using Things in German.

    • @PeterAkkies

      Hey Carlos. I don’t use a habit tracker. Instead, when I want to create a new habit, I create a project to help me set the conditions for the habit to stick.

      Hi Peter! I discovered a way to cancel to-dos on the iPad and the iPhone! Just click and hold the checkbox to cancel a specific task and voilà, you get two options: complete or cancel the task.

    • @matrhein

      The biggest hidden feature of things (that you know of, for sure) is to have actual planning depth in Things by using the project-specific someday area to have tasks in the project while not focusing on them, thereby reducing clutter and adding breadth instead of depth to the project planning. This one would also be worth a video, I think. I found that not many people use the someday area properly.

    1:29 Toodledo was my preferred app before I found my “forever task manager.” Years ago, it had all the power of Things (plus a web app) with *none* of the beauty.
