    Thanks. Exactly what I needed. Works fantastically. Attached garden hoses/check valve and mounted on a cart to wheel around my yard to water my various plants on my multi-acre property. Has dramatically reduced the time to fertilize my drip-irrigated plants. Very accurate dispensing.

    Great video! Just a tip for others, get a ppm meter. Its a greay way to test the strength on a fertilizer/nutrient solution and make sure its in the range you want and wont burn your plants or grass. They are very cheap!

    would this work, attached to an automated watering system with sprinklers? or drip irrigation?

      Yes, it would. We have two of them in our greenhouses set up for drip irrigation on several thousand hanging baskets.

      @@SharkeysFloralGreenhouses thank you for your help and response;) I was able to get mine plumbed. How do I figure out the ratio of fertilizer to water in the 5 gallon bucket method you used? I noticed you used an entire package of bynf how much water was added for dilution?

    How is this different than the Ortho adjustable injector sprayer? I thought you would use this in an inline drip irrigation system.

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Ortho is a hose-end sprayer, which is great for a lot of flowers or large garden, the injector is the next step up from there, usually for greenhouses or large yards with lots of flowers. They work differently mechanically wise too. The hose-end sprayer draws up the solution from the water flowing over a tube, the injector is a mechanical pump.

    I plan on using 20-20-20 in my fertigation system to fertilize 4 60' rows of tomatoes. How much fertilizer should I mix with how much water to feed the injector?

  • @azadtarikian
    @azadtarikian 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    is that just for flowers? we are thinking on an injector for lawn (we have about 2 acres of lawn!) thru our underground sprinkler system. Does this will work? and what kind of fertilizer we should use??

    If I were to use this product in my garden for vegetables and I wanted to use something like fish emulsion or Neptune’s harvest that ultimately goes through my drip irrigation, how would I mix it up in the bucket? For example, the fish emulsion is 2 tablespoons per gallon. If I mix it with that ratio in the bucket and the injector is picking it up and reducing it further, wouldn’t that dilute my mixture even more? I’m currently using a chapin 32 oz fertilizer injector and haven’t been quite sure how to mix it. I’ve been mixing it in a gallon with the correct mixture and then posit into the injector. Still I think it dilutes it, nut not entirely sure.

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You would have to set the ratio on the injector. As shown this injector will only go up to 4% (or 4 parts per 100.)

    What are your thoughts about attaching this to a drip system with a constant small feed?

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can certainly do that. For a constant feed use the BYN fertilizer at half-strength.

    I have 16 200 foot rows for a market garden. Would this be ideal or would I need something on a larger scale?

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  ปีที่แล้ว

      You may need a bigger system or put it into zones so that it's not feeding so many feet at one time.

    Is BYN fertilizer OK to use on veggie garden plants?

  • @paulmanhart4481
    @paulmanhart4481 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is pretty cool. But what about a simple venturi that pulls in fertilizer by gravity feed? Suspend your liquid fertilizer above the venturi, which is attached to your hose near the faucet, and let the suction pull out the fertilizer in a tube that inserts the bucket of fertilizer. Is that a run on sentence or what?
    I’ve used venturies for mixing air in fish tanks.
    Just wanted your opinion.
    Paul

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We wouldn't advise to make your own, that would be risky (and unlikely) with keeping the ratio consistent. That's why we love the injectors, we just don't have to worry about it and they maintain an accurate feed rate.

    We usually mix 150g of complete fertilizer (14,14,14) for every 16L of water and drench 150ml per plant.
    I have drip irrigation setup for watering but I'm looking into integrating fertilizer injectors.
    How do you make sure that the fertilizer are distributed evenly via injectors?

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually injectors are pretty accurate with their feed rate. We use Newtry injectors in our greenhouses. They are here: amzn.to/3NnDD6p
