this past weekend, i was rear ended in a 2015 MDX by a man going around 60 MPH in a scion. When he hit us, the glass in his vehicle shattered, and his car literally bounced off of our car, totaling his. The only damage to our Acura was a scuffed bumper. I will only purchase this vehicle, due to its immense level of safety. It saved us from going to the hospital. Acura ensures that its customers ride in safety.
I love it!! I plan to own one and I dont even have a family. The versatility in cargo room, mid-size dimensions make it ideal for Urban driving. Having a full size Buick, or Q7 is a pain in traffic oriented or parking in urban cities. I love the previous two generations, so it comes of no surprised that the MDXs success in the market is due to value, styling and best in all categories not just focused on one unlike competitors.
I never take my car through a car wash that has brushes. If you do it enough over time, it can scratch your paint or leave swirls marks in the paint. Use a touchless car wash.
I have sat in a 2015 MDX and it's smaller than my 2015 Qx60 (3months old). The body shape didnt change much except for details such as lights/grills/etc.. My Qx60 has unique curves and aggressive front. It comes with a much better looking wheels standard than the MDX plain alloy color. Note: my aunts and uncles have 5 2006 MDX's total. All of them has transmission problems about 5 years in. They still run but only local in case it breaks down.
We have a 2014 Acura MDX coming from 1st gen MDX. This is truly a great SUV. Does everything well and has been trouble free for 80k miles. Downside is the not so lux interior and awful infotainment system...
I Have owned a gen 2 MDX for many trouble free years @ over 240k miles now. (it’s on my you tube channel btw). Will be upgrading when the new generation arrives but will still keep my gen 2. @AutoFixEZ
I'm glad he pointed that thing about the touch screen. I'd much rather have 100 buttons than the touch screen. I have a 20 year old Mercedes, and I can change the radio, climate control, etc. without looking away from the road. That's impossible to do in this world of touch screens.
- 6 spd...come on, even TLX has 8 speed trans - should have 20" rim instead - too many plastics and complicated center console - keyless entry is just toooo big
That's going to depend on the type of equipment you want. If you can do without navigation, a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, and a panoramic moonroof, the MDX would be the way to go given its stronger residual values, slightly better mpg, and more refined driving experience. If you seek all the bells and whistles for under $45K, consider the Highlander.
Although not having a third row, I would choose the Lexus RX over the Acura, I would rather buy the upcoming Lexus NX, which looks amazing. How do expect to buy for luxury if you are going to get fake wood inserts?
The car itself is superb, and it looks nothing like the previous generations, but the front grille looks disgusting. Why is it that so many americans love to see that enormous amount of chrome everywhere?
ReturnoftheBrotha It STILL stands out. And yes, it is complaining, but what else could it possible be? Of course, because BMW's grills look good, and Volvo's grill looks suitable too, but Acura's grill is ugly and is screaming "look at me! I'm a shiny bit of plastic!"
ReturnoftheBrotha What is it you hate about Volvo's grill? Yes, fair enough, but that's what matters. The headlights add to the aggressive look and they kind of go together with that grill. Not true- people criticise Lexus all the time (although they really do make great cars!). They are gradually getting betters, but their cars don't really look that nice. They don't look too luxurious and they don't look too aggressive, so they end up being a bit boring, in my opinion.
I noticed that as well. Everyone loves a panoramic sunroof, kids and adults alike. I would choose that over a video system and just buy the kids iPads if it was so important. To be honest, I don't think Honda/Acura make any cars with big sunroofs. Not their specialty...
The larger the sunroof, the heavier and less fuel efficient the vehicle is. And not to mention much less safer in a rollover crash. That's why they do not build them in to their cars.
Superion Solace Weight is a non-issue for a typical customer, only the perception of said weight while the car is in motion. Also, the MDX is only about 2-3 mpg more efficient on the highway than its primary competitors. It's a dead tie with the BMW X5 xDrive35i, which has far more torque. The MDX doesn't score any better in roof strength tests against its glass roofed competitors, either. Honda likely didn't incorporate it into their ACE architecture like others did with theirs.

kjstog Honda has more options than Acura it’s weird
Anthony Molina not really
Awesome! My 2005 Acura MDX is Awesome!
My dream SUV Acura MDX
Great review. I'm warming up to you, Zach. Clearly Micah is still the man in charge but given time you'll be right on par with him!
3:05 lol. Great review

itzmando you’re smart, its always good to have a suv 😎👍
Damn that key is gigantic!
That Zach man is clearly the journalist to keep an eye on. Soon Micah will be working for Chunk E. Cheese Pizza as the Mascot. Poor Micah.
disagree, Micah rules.
Ha, that's very kind of you to say, Gene. But if anyone's going to be working for Chuck E. Cheese, it's me.
***** you're reviews are more informative and you tell us about every single problem Micah makes us laugh
Boy were you off! Lol

I've heard bad things about the transmission in the qx60
Very nice car. Acura is the best.
Good review, thanks!

@ 2:22, delicate items! 😂🤣😂🤣

Voice control is a good alternative to the touch screens, and I like it... just not as much as my 20 year old Mercedes.
jwatwater cough.....cough which is indestructible
Yes. Very true.
Wow good review
i dont like the fact that front led fog light is optional
- 6 spd...come on, even TLX has 8 speed trans
- should have 20" rim instead
- too many plastics and complicated center console
- keyless entry is just toooo big
Great value for family size SUV!
Good review!
This video is great😊
Great video! Really wish I could afford a MDX.
2010 MDX here and I’m likely getting a 25 to replace it
Anyone know if the fuel is regular or is it premium? I have an Acura RDX 2012 & I wanna upgrade.
I like mdx but what keeps me from buying it is that it has timing belt engine. Honda why?
2nd gen is the best looking plus the engine too
Is mdx in the same level with rx? I don't think so
So should I get an mdx around 45k or a top end highlander around 45k?
That's going to depend on the type of equipment you want. Tech Defender, I have a 2015 Acura MDX and it’s absolutely stunning. All the little and big things that are on this car standard is amazing!
Im single and this is the car that I wana drive
Paul Dzhur its baller

depends on. RX is mostly ladies car
Have you seen crash ratings?
One of the reasons I picked MDX over RX is safety.
In Canada you get open pore wood. Also there are 100k Mercedes that use plastic that looks like aluminum on door ha does and around vents.
Lexus also has fake wood...
love the ending lol
what happen if you drive away with out the fog key on u?
+Ricardo Ramirez You can't drive it without the key in it.
Center console design looks disappointing, as usual with Hondas and Acuras these days.
I think it looks great
I own one. I really like the interior design.
The car itself is superb, and it looks nothing like the previous generations, but the front grille looks disgusting. Why is it that so many americans love to see that enormous amount of chrome everywhere?
ReturnoftheBrotha That's the thing though- it's enormous and it really stands out! :/

5:25 product placement, lol
"Earth Dreams" 😂😂😂
I really like this viedo
thats because its not really a luxury brand
Buick enclave ew
Acura keeps getting uglier and uglier. They dont make good cars anymore. Only Lexus can compete with Germans
Where is the panoramic roof? No i'm not buying at all
