Still mad at the news guy. I haven’t gotten over that.

I think that's excellent advice. Try things before buying expensive gear. I got my Q2 just before the pandemic. I was a bit nervous, could not try it out before, so I researched original full resolution images from the Internet. That convinced me. I bought it and did not regret it. One actually needs a bit more time to try it out in different situations. There is a bit to learn on what the optics can do and what it can't. I also like the b&w output. I actually also like the video output, taking advantage of the 1.7 lens with its dreaming look. One can also get images where one has this 3d-like rendering. It also has its limitations and not every image has the super hype look. Often I as a hobbyist and my skills are the limitation. But when they happen, its magic and it was worth the money for me.

I encourage people to rent and test before buying! 🤙🏽 Each piece of gear I own now is something that I’ve rented previously before buying. It gives you a chance to see if it fits in your workflow, and see if it’s actually worth it to you.
And honestly, this is one amazing camera to learn on and improve your craft with. I was skeptical of the hype in the beginning for sure, but my brief time with it said a lot! 📸

I had some red oval Leica decals I got from a guy in Manhattan street. Cool. My cheap camera is now worth $5,000.

It’s that damn lens. It’s just too powerful.

With this thing, you’re essentially buying a lens and getting a camera body attached to it for free. It’s a work of art
