    Using your chisels to make an awesome Chisel rack is brilliant. Your cleat wall is going to be out of this world when it is filled up. Looking forward to seeing what is next

      @@LTDWoodworks As a footnote, I asked a 90 year old woodcrafter one time if he ever built something he didn;t feel was 'good enough'. He pondered a moment and said "I never make mistakes!" Pointing to his woodstove in the corner, with a twinkle in his eye, added "I make heat!"

      Guess I need to get a wood stove because I’ve made things that would be good to make heat😉

    Hello my friend.
    I like to make this kind of hanging apparatus for the tools we use.
    This is a beautiful design. A good idea for the wall with the French lock system. You have beautifully created the wooden chisel shelf. Great in the type of tree you use. Congratulations. I had a different design from plywood a few months ago. Şua wooden chisels are more elegant on the wall. Thank you for sharing. You did a good job. See you. Great greetings.
    I wish you healthy and happy days.

    Wonderful joints and great craftsmanship. The only comment/suggestion I would make is that the tails for the dovetail should be at the vertical pieces of the frame, and the tails on the horizontal. That way the joint is resisting the force of gravity and there is no way it can come loose. This isn’t as necessary for this project since the forces applied are minimal in this instance and the glue should hold it just fine. But it’s always a good thing to take advantage of the mechanical aspects of the joint. Great job and a beautiful piece!

I am looking forward to next winter when I may get time to spruce up my shop and add a french cleat wall, definitely gonna remember this. Love those SUIZAN Japanese pull saws. Oh man, I cringed at 7:27 and this is the reason I will never spend money on a push block! Looks awesome John! If you ever find them moving around too much during transport you could always add a few magnets to the back of that front panel :)

      Ya man, like I said this little project was jinxed from the get go for some reason. Oh well. I think that’s a great idea with the magnets as they do move around when I take the whole thing off the wall. Future project 👍

      I too was a bit scared at first but once I started it really wasn't all that bad. Did they come out perfect? No. But that's ok, that's what a little wood filler is for;) So go ahead and give it a try!

    Great project! Like the locks and look. A newbie question, what is the grey paste you smear on the wood?

    • @LTDWoodworks
      @LTDWoodworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! That is a mixture of wood glue and saw dust from sanding the same wood so it matches. It's amazing how simple it is and how well it hides any small gaps or imperfections in the wood. And the locks work great as I have already bumped into this one. Small shop problems😬😉 Thanks for watching!
