As a Dutch person i'm so glad to finally see a good video on this subject, i still have my copies of Amsterdoom and A2 racer, as a kid it was mindblowing to see familiar places in a videogame. The developers also made a boat racing game called 'De schippers van de Kameleon' where you race in typical Dutch ditches in Friesland, it was included in peanutbutter jars at the time to promote the movie of the same name(wich itself is based of a series of books from the 40's and 50's). It was very fun to watch this video! Keep up the good work!
I remember playing Company of Heroes a long time ago when i suddenly saw a Building in-game which had BREPOLS on the side. It was shaped exactly like the old BREPOLS site in Turnhout, Belgium. It's an old printing Company that exists since 1796
It is amazing when developers go the extra mile to enhance the realism, to include small details that are remembered by players like us. Thanks for sharing this memory!

Might be fun to know that Valkyria Chronicles is at least partially based on the Netherlands, with the main homeland being extremely Dutch in feeling and the world map have loads of lesser known (internationally) Dutch place names. Also The Patrician is a strategy game that focuses heavily on the Netherlands (or rather the region that becomes the Netherlands). Might be good to make an exception for strategy games that are heavily focused on a specific country or exclusively uses a country as a setting.

One thing to note about the "North Holland" map in War Thunder is that it's not really based on an actual place in The Netherlands. The developers stated that it was based on a Dutch place, but it's basically a copy paste of the map Eastern Europe, which I believe takes place in Ukraine. It also just seems far too hilly for it to be a place in North Holland. As a Dutchman, I was very disappointed by how it turned out.
I was today years old when i learned that the tf2 marketgarden is a reference to the operation that took place next to my home town. That is honestly something to be ashamed off.
