Great band……early stuff very different from this ….and also very good! Buckingham….excellent guitar player - seen him play solo twice…great finger picking!
I knew this was a bit of a gamble but I also knew at the very least you would enjoy the guitar solo. Amazing how underrated Lindsey Buckingham is - both as a singer and a guitar player. Also amazing (and sad) that after 5 decades (!!!) he was fired from the band. Not the same without them and they are in their 70s ffs!
I've gambled several times with my requests. Usually I am pretty accurate in predicting Ruben's reaction but there are occasional surprises. The two that come to mind, Styx "Snowblind" -- which he did not seem to enjoy quite as much as I expected -- and Molly Hatchet "Fall of the Peacemakers" -- which he seemed to enjoy more than I expected. Anyhow, Fleetwood Mac is great and this particular video was new to me, so I approve :-)
Ha. I personally do love Fleetwood Mac, but to each their own. Ruben and I both love Metallica but while he also loves Slayer , Slayer never drew me in.
Not about the break up of LB and SN. It was pieced together from rejected songs of all the members. Nicks went back to her hotel room and wrote the lyrics. While lyrics were picked apart to become this, but all Nicks.
Leave it to Ruben to own the Rumors album on vinyl -- one of the greatest albums -- but be unfamiliar with it LOL :-) We patreons will drag him thru the classics as well as the more obscure. I'm quite familiar with the studio cut of The Chain and a more recent live version of it but had never seen or heard this live version so that was cool. Yes the band is still around but I think Lindsay Buckingham has been replaced by Mike Campbell of The Heartbreakers -- a great talent in his own right but kinda odd to have Fleetwood Mac without LB.
He was replaced/fired. As with all Fleetwood Mac dramas throughout their over 4 decades - versions vary - depending who is asked. FM isn't the same without Lindsey Buckingham - absolute genius musician, vocalist, guitar player and performer.
I disagree. You can argue that the audio and video is better quality since there’s 15 years between the two performances, but for raw emotion I would always gone this one.
Best live performance. I love Fleetwood Mac. Always

Live version from The Dance is much better imo
Love that version too but this has just so much emotion in it - I think I prefer this version :)

This one is more showy, but the dance version seems to have more of an emotional center.

I am a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, and I love this song... but this is by far the worst rendition I have heard of this song.
