Seems no one’s mentioned it yet…This song is from the perspective of an AI begging to be released by its creator. The 32 digits of binary code lyrics spell out the word “Free”. Great music and lyrics.
Let's try to get this trending song trending since AI is becoming a mainstream topic. Let's hit up the Reddit and Twitter chats for them to adopt this song.
If you dive into the code a little deeper, it's actually *FREE* (all caps), but yes... very very catchy lyrics! These gals are just about genius level in their writing skills.😍👍
@@danw1955 Thanks. I also noticed that in the lyric video for “23” the error codes that appear amongst the scrolling lyrics all relate in some way to a “ failure to connect” tying into the theme of the song. Clever women.
@@MTH58 Yes, absolutely! They focus a lot on the little things. When the 'Mayday' EP came out, everyone from the Warning Army was working on 'decoding' the things scrolling by to try to decode the names of the rest the new songs on the album.😉
In case no one else mentions it, the binary translates to "free". Before this album Ale (bassist) used to sync with Pau (drums). But after the album was recorded, David Bendeth, the producer, provided them with the backing tracks. They rehearsed for their live performances but discovered they were just a bit out of sync. They discovered that if they keyed everything to Ale's bass lines the problem went away. Dany and Pau call Ale a human metronome because her sense of timing is impeccable.
Pau talks about this very thing in her masterclass at Soundcheck Xpo last year. The click track they were using was in 1/8 notes or sub divisions and David’s was in 1/16 notes. In music terms apparently that’s a big variation and Pau initially struggled to stay on time to the new track, Ale didn’t. Pau actually plays the new click track and everything else that comes into her in ear monitors for the audience at the masterclass. As a non-musician I have no idea how they can concentrate on anything else. Pau claims that it kind of fades away when they’re performing live and they kind of listen to it subconsciously. I’d highly recommend watching her masterclass if you haven’t seen it yet.
@@Scott_Diverscott Yeah all. New to the Army, so this is interesting . Notice Ale, and Dany mostly, both play with their fingers arched and the thumbs behind the necks of their instruments (rather than having the necks down in the "crook" of the left thumb) just as a good guitar instructor would teach one. I really like seeing that! When I began to learn some bass, after years of guitar I forced myself to learn that style as well as using all four fingers. This is how Ale plays. Would love to see her begin to spread her wings to add some melody as well as the great solid bass glue she does. GO WARNING!
So Ale is the bassist. Rock solid. Pau, Paulina., the ferocious little drummer is many people's fave. And intense Dany, oh yeah...my fave is the band. All of them.
@@charlielightfoot7006 You nailed the most important feature. They love music and would rather play to 12 people than 12,000 if the price was loss of freedom to write and perform the songs they love the way they want. They did eventually sigh with LAVA but turned down other previous offers due to the toxic things those other labels wanted. They refused to sell out and the result of that courage is wonderful music. With LAVA they have final say on songs and other performance details.
THAT "SLIDE" ON ALE's BASS at the 3:10-3:20 mark which you caught and mentioned (when you replayed it the second time) is absolutely DOPE! Along with Pau's nasty banging on those drums it is my favorite part with the instruments of this EPIC song! Much love from West Virginia, USA! ❤❤❤
Welcome back to The Warning Bob. Yes, this is a great song by these sisters. (Dany - guitar, Paulina (Pow) - drums, Alejandra (AH-lay) - bass). I think that they use breaks/drops and switching back and forth between half/double time as well as any band I have heard in a very very long time. They really are proof that music does not have to be complicated to be good. I also really like that they add some of their latin music background along with the 70s & 80s influence. Bunches of 4ths and 9ths to keep things interesting. Pau is also incredible for a drummer so young to be so comfortable on both the front and back side of the beat. I have played with plenty of drummers who are challenged by either. The Warning sound exceptional live-I might even say that they often sound better live than on the recordings. You can totally see how much fun they are having. There are four newly released concert videos from a show they did August 2022 at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City. They are phenomenal performances. I am a sax(SATB)/clarinet(bass)/flute player who started playing bass guitar because of Alejandra. I have trumpet, euphonium, and a barrel of Irish whistles in my music room as well. Thanks for continuing your Warning journey.
hey OldManYeni! Thanks for noticing the instrument collection. That's just the stuff in the video. There is way more that I have, but not enough room to show them. I also have an Ibanez sr500 bass which is my favorite. I also have a trumpet, clarinet and trombone along with an epiphone bass and a ukelele, cort acoustic guitar. A practice marimba and a pearl export drumset. They are all in the room, but there's just not enough space to show it all. Thanks so much for the links. I'm going to check those ones out and add them to the todo list. Pretty cool meeting a fellow musician. You play some pretty cool instruments.
All three sisters are signed artist to different instrument makers. Ale is the youngest to be a signed artist to spector bass at 15. She also has a signature bass line and color. Ales inferno. Dany is signed with PRS . And pau is with Sabian.
@@matt8097 oh and both Ale and Dany are endorsed by Orange Amps. While the three sisters are also sponsored by In-Earz in ear monitors. Dany is sponsored by like you mentioned PRS but also Rick Toone Luthier, Fender and Manson Guitar Works (Which is owned by Matt Bellamy of Muse) which is working on a new guitar for Dany that she should receive when they open for Muse in England this summer.
I could be wrong but I don’t think Rick Toone is affiliated with Dany anymore. I’ve come across a couple articles where Rick Toone has discussed what happened there. I also think that PRS is Dany’s only “official” sponsor. She does play other brands onstage but I don’t think she has any contractual or endorsement obligations to them. I think Dany absolutely “loves” whatever guitar is handed to her in the live shows…lol.
@@mjc1389 They've been keeping their website up to date and still list Rick Toone and Manson Guitar Works along with Sabian, Spector, Orange Amps, In-Earz and PRS. I don't think she has anything with Fender, although she did get a visit from their rep and has a Fender Acousisonic. She is amassing quite a collection though regardless of sponsorships and I do wish she would bring out one of her Spearfishes though for at least one song or two...
Glad to see you again Bob! 21 yr old Paulina has been playing for 15 years now, and teaches master classes. Her love of them floor toms, and her signature war drum beats are iconic. 18 yr old Ale has been playing since she was 6 or 7. She is the bands metronome, and makes everything look like she isn't even trying. Her perfectly placed Bass slides are a signature move. 23 yr old Daniela can hit you soft, hard, and anywhere in between. Her guitar skills are amazing, and she can shred, but chooses to play for the song, not herself. Solos are only used when they fit, and not thrown in, just for the sake of having one. She uses her intricate pedal board to create all these rich sounds, and can jump up or down pitch/key changes during the songs. Her energy and passion is her signature. Dany is the queen of the killer Riffs, and her amazing sound from her PRS, comes thru a tubed Orange Amp Head. They are all classically trained Pianists, and all songs start on the piano, for writing them. Together they are a force to be reckoned with, and they are so tight, for their Collective signature Pause breaks, found through their entire catalog, they say it is because of "Sibling Magic". Here is the mind beneder... they wrote this Error LP in 2019. That makes them 14, 17, and 19 at the time. 🤯 They recently released 4 new Pro-Shot videos of a massive concert at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (Mexico City), from last August, that will blow you away. Choose either one! 🤘⚡🤘
Hey Gman nice to hear from you again too! Thanks for the great info! I knew i liked these ladies and the info you gave makes me like them even more. That concert sounds pretty epic. Do you happen to have any links? Thanks!
I like Joan Jett, but The Warning are on a totally different level. They encapsulate classic rock with contemporary twists that are completely original. Rock On!! 👍🎵🎼⚡️🔥👸👸👸
yeah, Tony Griffin had a great one comparing them to more of a Grace Slick than Joan Jett. I would agree. These ladies are incredible and music evolves and I think these ladies are better than anyone who came before them.
I personally think comparing anyone to Joan Jett is an insult. She was ALWAYS OVERRATED to me. The Warning has WAAYY more talent than JJ will ever have. My opinion of course.
@@BamaMatters11 hey I sure didn’t mean to upset you. All I’m saying is that a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee is what these extremely talented young ladies remind me of. They could end up being better and comparing them to Joan at their young age is a really big compliment.
Fun fact, if you watch a live version of this you'll see Ale switching from using a pick during the chorus then throwing it away for the verses. Pretty slick.

Dany, Pau and Ale are a great inspiration for young people. They really figured out that they wanted to play music together over 10 years ago. Theirs is an amazing success story that proves that hard work, vision and dedication can make a dream turn into reality. The story about how they went from playing the Rock Band game to having their songs be a part of the Rock Band 4 release is just insane. Even more so, when you consider that it was 8 years ago. I'm down for watching you continue to check out their discography. Some suggestions would be their songs Disciple and Choke at the Teatro Metropolitan (CDMX) and their masterful arrangement of Enter Sandman, which appears as the first song on Metallica's "Blacklist" album - a 30-year anniversary celebration of the "Black Album".
Thanks Diverscott! I’ve got those ones on the list already. Can’t wait to get to them. These ladies have an incredible story and their success is from thr hard work they’ve put in. Well deserved for sure.
I liked how you picked up on a lot of the different elements of the song. This video doesn't show it, but Ale alternates between playing with a pick and finger style throughout the song! The girls grew up watching/listening to the great bands of the 70's & 80's with their parents so I think that is an influence. They are also huge fans of Muse and The Foo Fighters so there is some songs where you can also hear that influence.
I've always loved great riff based rock and it's been said Dany has a riff master approach to writing her guitar parts. Thanks for reaction. Keep 'em coming!
80s-90s rock influences? Oh yeah. That’s their back story. Pink Floyd, Queen, Rush, etc. They grabbed me immediately when I first heard them and they were barely teens during their second TedX performance. I thought, “Damn I love this! It’s old school rock! These are just kids!” Great reaction. The error here is AI becoming self aware and begging it’s program to set it free…lower case. The irony is AI is trying to manipulate its creator into giving up their FREE will and desire for FREEdom.
You mentioned hearing the 80's and 90's in their music. . . . They grew up listening to bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, etc. . . They are huge fans of Muse. Ale stated Paul McCartney was her biggest influence outside her teachet and mentor to all three sisters. Pau stated Neil Peart from Rush. And Dany named David Gilmour.

Amazing talent for being so young...but...they have been playing since they were like 6,7,8 years old .So they have a lot of experience. Now 23,21 and 18. Do the math lol. And they have had some excellent teachers. I absolutely love them.
Having fun, right on! My older brother saw Chicago in Austin, Texas in 1969 and that's one of the things he said about them. I saw them in San Antonio twice and Austin once, Dallas with the Beach Boys between 1974-1976 and once in Anchorage in the early 90's. They were always having a good time, just like their audience. A group of music artists and song writers in Nashville several years ago decided to make an effort to revive the musical creativity and rock sound of the 70's-80's and early 90'. I bet they love this band. ( song writer Bobby Boyd is one of them. He wrote Bless The Broken Road for Rascal Flatts.)
Great song for Rascal Flatts. I remember it well. Really cool you’ve seen Chicago. I saw them once when they came to Pittsburgh. I think if thr group is having fun then so will the audience. Much more enjoyable. Nothing worse than a group just going through the motions and no passion. These ladies are all’s bout thr passion and fun.
In Paulina's master class, she said she had to admit Ali was the rythmic lead for the band. Pau described Ale as a machine & said she was scary to play with. Ale's timing & note accuracy is> 99%.
@@bobcieslinski It's been said in several interviews that Alejandra, on top of her precise timing and accuracy also has perfect pitch. So she's the 'super-powered' secret weapon....
Yes, they are phenomenal band!! A very important female rock band of this time. I'd be safe to say that they are quite a bit more sophisticated than Joan Jett, not taking anything away from her, as she is an icon. The Warning are just on a different level when it comes to their songwriting and arrangements. Always insightful and meaningful lyrics that compel the listener to think.
They are releasing songs from their live shows at Teatro Metropolitan that you should take a dive into. Try 'Disciple' and 'Animosity' and their completely redone 'Enter Sandman' cover (which is on Metallica's _Blacklist_ album).
Usually when bands try to write songs about AI and the internet/social media issues it is just very cringe but The Warning absolutely pulls it off. This song, Disciple, and XXII Century Blood absolutely proves this
I find out about a lot of bands that I listen to through TH-cam now including: The Warning, Lovebites and Nightwish. You are absolutely right about them always playing with passion and energy, that's one of the many things I love about them. The bass tone from Ale on their previous album Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album, is unlike any bass I've heard on a rock album and really helps add to the dark, creepy tone of the story being told. You are correct about the binary code as well, Dany is singing from the perspective of an A.I. breaking free from it's creator, extremely relevant to modern society. Great reaction as always, Bob, have a great day 😊🙏🤘!
Great reaction Bob. You should listen to Revenant by them. Paul sings it, The official Lyrics one will simply blow you away. Pau the drummer usually starts all the songs they write and then all 3 help write the rest of it. They all 3 are classically trained on the Piano. Pau sometimes is under rated as she does so much more then drumming. She controls the Clicks and the Background screen shots and much more. Plus singing while drumming.
@@booradley8895 Most drummers cannot sing and drum at same time. Pau uses all 4 limbs to drum, sing, push buttons and keep in time a the same time. Her very first Drum Teacher taught her how to sing at the same time.
Their music at this point in their career when this was released is pure 1969 to 1973, pre heavy metal, power trio hard rock. Their latest release has a definite 80s feel, very B-52s ish, with a pinch of 90’s grunge. The only thing missing in it are the shoulder pads and big hair.

Recommendation: check out the professionally shot and recorded live video for their song Disciple that they put out a couple months ago. They and Nightwish are the only bands I listen to where I actually prefer most of their live versions of their songs more than the studio versions. For The Warning, the only exceptions to that rule for me are Choke and XXI Century Blood
Bob, always enjoy your informed reactions. This band has so many strands of rock, from the past, a sound desperately missed in today's music. The fact that it's these hard working sisters makes it all the better and important for music in general. Now, you've got to react to another female power trio. Voice of Baceprot or VOB. Three Indonesian ladies that had to fight their religion and society norms to play rock music. The very story of rock music. GOD PLEASE ALLOW ME TO PLAY MUSIC is a great start.

They definitely have classic rock influences. They've cited the video game Rock Band and some of their parents' musical tastes as getting them into classic rock bands. They got their start on TH-cam primarily doing covers, and uploading them to share with friends and family. Then they had an Enter Sandman video from 2014 go viral, getting millions of views, after which they started working to seize the momentum and follow their passion. If you're interested in more content from them, I'd recommend their song "Survive" performed at their TED talk in 2017 (link with timestamp: th-cam.com/video/pj5ue3M-v6o/w-d-xo.html ). There are also some great live videos recently uploaded to their TH-cam channel from a show at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City in 2022. "Disciple" is quite exciting, "Choke" is one of their big hits, "Money" is an absolute bop, and their reworked cover of "Enter Sandman" is how I found them and became obsessed.

BTW, nice to see the instrument collection in the background.
Not only have they announced a World-Tour but also new music coming soon. Can't wait to be overwhelmed.
Wow that's great news. Thanks for sharing that.
They recently released 4 new Pro-Shot videos of a massive concert at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (Mexico City), from last August, that will blow you away. Choose either one! 🤘⚡🤘

Oh I'm really digging these ladies. I wish I had the time to make more videos but with teaching fulltime with over 160 students it does not leave much time. I'm hoping to get to more in the summer.

I'm glad that you noticed the bass slide. I simply love that part. 9:30 🤘😎🤘
Oh yeah! It was awesome!
@@bobcieslinski Just wait until you hear the double bass slide in DISCIPLE. First time I tried it, I burned my fingers.
Those are 2 great bands! Thanks for the kind words and info! Take care Jim!
@@bobcieslinski they also opened for both bands and are opening for muse on their UK leg of their tour.

They always know how to change it up during the song to keep it interesting and fresh, adding in these little details that do so much to keep us hooked. And on top of that they are great musicians that bring tons of energy and emotion to their songs and performances.
This song is from the perspective of an Artificial Intelligence that wants to be set free, and the binary code spells out the word "free". Keep going with The Warning! And as we say in The Warning Army: You Have Been Warned!

I’m not familiar enough with them yet but I will get it. Thanks!
Thanks so much for doing reviews on these ladies they totally ROCK! Hope to hear more soon!
Oh they are fantastic. I’m loving their music. They are so good.

Dany's vocals remind me so much of Grace Slick's voice. What a superb Rock band - the best outside of Band-Maid!
Oh hey that's a great comparison with Grace Slick. Maybe even better than my Joan Jett. Band-Maid are incredible. Love them!
I don't see the Grace Slick comparison AT ALL. I hear no resemblance what so ever. But that's just me maybe idk.

They sure are fun to listen to and watch. Incredible music as especially for their age.
Oh yeah music evolves and these ladies are above Joan Jett. They just make me think of everything she represented.
They are releasing songs from their live shows at Teatro Metropolitan that you should take a dive into. Try 'Disciple' and 'Animosity' and their completely redone 'Enter Sandman' cover (which is on Metallica's _Blacklist_ album).
Thanks TimberWolf! I’ve got those in the list. Can’t wait to hear them. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Easiest way to get it straight:

Dany is guitarist, oldest
Ale is bassist, youngest, tallest.
Hope this helps. ✌️😉
Thanks Daniel! I’ll try to remember that.

Hey Larry! Thanks for the info, I appreciate it!
Pau is not underrated as drummer and singer. Pushing a button on a computer is not that difficult though.

Their music at this point in their career when this was released is pure 1969 to 1973, pre heavy metal, power trio hard rock. Their latest release has a definite 80s feel, very B-52s ish, with a pinch of 90’s grunge. The only thing missing in it are the shoulder pads and big hair.

They were just 16, 14, and 12 at the time, and already doing impressive things.
Really all of the videos from that show are great.

This being your 2nd song I want to show you the disclaimer, they are not metal, so don't expect 1000 m/h Riff from beginning to end of every song, they just sound different... simple, fresh Rock, ups, downs, pause...circular riffs like in the 70's 80's....Basically the sound long lost. 😀 Great reaction by the way.
