Pau's got just about the right level of crazy for a drummer. Best lyric she's written: "If karma doesn't hit you then I will." That's the kind of crazy I can get behind. 🤪
You are so right about Pau's craziness. She takes it right to the edge. They have so many "crazy" lyrics. "I'm not in danger, I'm the danger." "I found out dull knives cut better." Have you ever read the lyrics to Psychotic? Talk about crazy. lol
Spanish is their first language. They are all very proficient in English and most of their music is in English. They do have a couple of songs in Spanish, Narcisista and Martirio. Both great songs. Nice reaction/analysis. I appreciate when reactors actually have opinions and don't just sit and listen with no real feedback. Keep up the good work.
The Warning are masters of keeping their songs interesting. They often use modulation or key changes, shifting the tempo and changing to odd time signatures within their songs. If you listen you will notice that the instrumentation changes subtly from verse to verse. Their previous albums were recorded and released independently but this latest release under the label of Lava/Republic Records gave them the opportunity to work with legendary producer David Bendeth who forced the band to venture outside their comfort zone and embrace new techniques and strategies of song writing. They have also stated they wrote these new songs with performing live in mind specifically.
You can really hear that concept of writing for live performance in there. Some songs are just designed for a crowd. I guess that's one advantage of signing to a label is the connections it affords you. Good on them for taking advantage of that.
They attended English speaking private school, where all their classes were taught in English since Kindergarten. Spanish is their first language, but to hear them speak English, you would think they are American teenage girls. This video was shot at The Blast Furnace Museum in their hometown of Monterrey, MX, so much of the set is the museum. The extras are all fans of The Warning that showed up for the day. They have been pursued for years by many major labels, even Disney and America's got Talent. They turned them all down because every one of them wanted to change them. They have achieved so much independently using Kickstarter and Patreon. For this current album (which they were ready to record, before they were signed and before Covid started) they has a Kickstarter campaign where they asked for $30,000 USD in 30 days. They reached their goal in one hour. They went on to raise over $170,000. Then in July 2020 they were signed with Lava/Republic Records, after 7 months of negotiating full creative control and keeping their Patreon. BTW, Their Patreon has 1933 Patrons as of today, ranging from $1 to $200 per month. The Pandemic has slowed them a bit as far as exposure. They Finally are doing their 30+ date, North American tour that they have cancelled or postponed 3 times since the original spring 2020 dates. This week they opened for both the Foo Fighters in Mexico City, then for Sammy Hagar at SXSW in Austin, Texas. They are also scheduled to play half a dozen large festivals this summer and fall. I think they will really break as Radio play ramps up (already started on Satellite Radio) and some US TV appearances. Now is when the Labels are getting their bands out on tour again.
FYI- The Warning loves MUSE. They are Spanish language first, English second but extremely proficient in English. Dany (Guitar) singing lead and Ale' (Bass) sings low harmony and Pau (Drums has higher harmony). They switch leads because they are singing both sides of an issue (the sun is your enemy today/the sun is my enemy today). This is about the social and political crap going on in the world, and yes- they are amazing on their instruments.
You are by far the best reviewer I’ve heard to date. I appreciate the attention to their nuances and your interpretations are spot on. I’m a fairly new but loyal fan of The Warning thus far - looking forward to seeing where they go. I’m sure you have reviewed more of their songs beyond this one by now, I’ll be checking them out :)
Great reaction. I'm glad you pay attention to what they do. You are so right about the intricacies of their music. They are mad picky about every single millisecond of their songs. Until "Choke", the first release from their new album, which was actually released on a six song EP called "Mayday", they were 100% independent/crowd funded. They are still mainly crowd funded; that's how they eat, dress, etc.. Their Patreon account was kept as part of the contract they signed with Lava Records, a sub of Universal Music Group. I said all that to say this: You recognized there was money behind them by this video, but all along, the choices they have made, and the people who they have worked with, have produced material, shows, videos, etc., which belied there independent status, with their quality. That was half a brain-full from me, and I'm not certain it made sense. The Warning has been a very professional band from the word go, and they are absolute trailblazers in the 21st century way of using the internet to build a following and brand.
Guitar interlude is the best term I've heard for Danys' typical guitar pieces. Her solos are rare and cherished among the fans. You're crazy comment about Pau is spot on. Wait till you see Z (live session). The most amazing feat of Pau-ness has to be her singing with one hand and drummong with the rest of her soul during Narcissista. It's great. Thanks for your review man, I subbed.
We are, somehow, simultaneously at the best and worst time in history for rock and roll. I'm hearing some of the best music of my life, but I feel like it's just me hearing it. Sure, everyone here is aware of it, but who else is? This music doesn't get played on the radio (if anyone still listens to that), it's not on television, and it's not really on Tik Tok. I feel like this might be changing, though. Gaining in popularity through channels like this one. Slowly. Hopefully.
The most shocking thing to me since starting this channel is finding out exactly how many amazing bands I just didn't know existed! I give you my word that I'm doing my best to spread the word. On the one hand I only have 6.5k subs 😢... But on the other hand I have 6.5k subs. 😃
Great reaction to one of my favorite bands. They are releasing a new song "money" on mar. 25th. Great song. They played it opening for the foo fighters the other night. They all can sing lead but bassist doesnt like to. They can sing backup/harmony in any combination. See the drummer sing dust to dust live at lunario cdmx. All just had birthdays within the last few months. Ale-bass (17) "the thunder", dany-guitar (22) "the lightning" & pau-drums (20) "the storm".
People have already told you that they signed with Lava Records but I think Lava signed with them. They kept all rights to their old songs, they kept all or most of the rights to merchandise, they kept their rights to their image, 100% of their creativity and have final say on all songs. It is said that one label that wanted to sign and change them asked do you want to play in front of 12 people or 12000 Pau said 12 if it's our music. All of the extras was family and fans and did it for free.
That is wild. Unsigned bands just don't get deals like that. This is a perfect example of what's possible when the artist realises that they have all the power.
They are doing a US and Canadian tour right now. If MTV was still MTV they would be a house hold name. They have a 5 record deal with Lava Records. All there music before the MayDay EP was independent. Evolved is a killer song off of this EP. Great reaction!
Yeah. It's a different world out there right now in the music scene and I don't think anyone knows how to properly navigate it. I think you just have to dive in and figure out a way to go viral so you have some kind of leverage. Them the trick is to provide enough substance to grow organically beyond that.
Great reaction and even better review. All your points are spot on. You absolutely have to check out the official video for Evolve. Pau steals the show. They are all geniuses in their own way. They write all their songs together. The final product is always seamless. Because they are sisters and so close, they can read each other's mind. They complete each other's sentences. It's not just one. It's all 3 of them. A very unique band. I truly believe that the world is about to be "Warned!"
Nothing better than a breakdown by someone who knows what they’re talking about! Coincidently, this video just hit 1 million views a few hours before your upload!
Thanks Randy! Someone just described what I do as a reactionalysis and I think I'm gonna steal that. I love breaking things down to better understand what makes them tick.
As others have said, Spanish is their first language but they are very proficient in English. I have heard them explain that it's easier for them to write songs in English since most of their musical influences are in English. Also, it's probably been said already that they are fans of Muse.
I suppose that makes sense, the influences are more easily translated over to your own style if there isn't a language barrier to contend with. I suppose Spanish comes with its own set of cadences that could be tricky to navigate without tailoring the song to it.
@@PrymalChaos Yeah, they said it's harder for them to write in Spanish because the language is much trickier for that than English, even when they're native Spanish speakers.
Another great reaction. If you watch any of their behind the scene content you’ll realize that they’re on a lifelong journey. The ‘machine’ behind them aka a label is a recent development. They took their time choosing who to sign with and they seem equally comfortable playing a venue like The Whiskey as they are a stadium like they just did opening for the Foo Fighters. Are they late to the party back when rock was big or are they actually at the forefront of a new era of rock greatness? Judging by their broad appeal that is based not in their obvious physical appearance and dress but rather the quality of their work I think it’s the latter. Their lyrics are deep, sometimes dark, poetic and topical. They are humble, accessible and, above all, grateful. Bands come and go. They hit it big too soon with one hit and then they disappear into obscurity playing in small venues. I have a sense that these three will be around for some time.
They will be playing stadiums 30 years from now if they so choose to do so. I have said for several years now they will one day be recognized as not just one of, but the greatest power trio of all time! LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS aka THE WARNING!
Awesome reaction and analysis. Now you have to do the newest live version of this song from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX because it will completely blow you away because it's even better than the studio version! And yes, they swap lead vocals throughout this song. Pau the drummer sings about 50% of this song and is lead on several others. Also, they have opened for Muse and are part of Muse's European World Tour. Enjoy! ⚡🤘😁
Just to let you know that drummer Paulina is really one creative participant in composing music. Most of the songs start with her. In addition to being the strongest drummer I've seen in recent years, at live shows her drumming is very noticeable and you can hear how she destroys it, there are videos where she starts to lose control and tries to destroy it hahaha... Great reaction!
during their first seven years they were a totally independent band, today they are with Lava record but with a contract that gives them creative freedom. As for the budget I think it seems more than it is, the building is a museum and it seems to me that the manager of the museum is a fan or friend of the manager (something like that), and the one with the props something similar, as for the costumes, one of his fans makes those types of costumes and the ninjas in the video are fans
I Believe if they are not as big as they should by now, is because industry requirements and market goals and targeting. The warning have said that they were approached by networks and tv shows like the voice, AGT, glee and Disney and others and those people always wanted to make them to change the band's inimage to:super sexy and mainstream pop and they rejected all those offerts to a point they were asked: "what would you prefer: to play in front of 12000 people, or in front of twelve?" . You shall guest the answer by now
Any time a board of executives are involved art dies. They made the right choice. The exposure of those shows just doesn't seem worth driving your talent into the ground.
@@PrymalChaos They spent 7 months in negotiations before signing with Lava records. Before that they were crowd funded. During their career, over the years they have opened for Styper, Def Leopard, The Killers, Sammy Hagar, Foo Fighters, etc. Lzzy Hale wants them on tour with Halestorm. They are winning fans every time they open for someone. People start with who are they, and end with these girls rock.
As far as this old goat is concerned, They went more sexy but still classy on their recent MTV VMA performance. However I think/hope and mainly expect that they did it there on their own terms and in their own time. Also it did not detract from their performance there, they crushed that.
I've thought about it more and while b natural doesn't appear in the key of Dmin it does appear in variations of it like D melodic minor or D Dorian. That explains the spicy flavour without technically breaking the key centre. Very cool composition.
They've always been big Muse fans. Here they are play "Hysteria" back in 2013, when their ages were 13 (Dany on Gt), 11 (Pau on Dr) and 8 (Ale on Bs) - th-cam.com/video/P-IuRNVMsx0/w-d-xo.html - and here they are 2.5 years later playing a Foo Fighters song that got a lot of views - th-cam.com/video/yjDkAnaTVVY/w-d-xo.html - P.S. a couple of days ago they opened for FF in front of 50,000 fans - th-cam.com/video/DqkpZVgw54o/w-d-xo.html - ("Rudy CAM" shot taken by their manager)
Great song, fine thoughtful reaction. About the subject: back in the 1970s I recall a thick psychology book, I think it was "The True Believer" and was entirely on this subject: the true Believer, the true Disciple, is a specific psychology and mindset and usually has had specific conditioning. The exact focus of that, whether religion or some other ideology, is almost interchangeable according to that conditioning. That is what I'm hearing here. These young ladies write deep.
Thank you for commenting on their lyrics, something most reviewers gloss over or simply ignore. I still can't believe that Pau wrote some of these songs when she was as young as 14, I simply have no words.
Congratulations sir, you win the prize for the most detailed analysis of songs from The Warning. Given your "Just the right amount of crazy" comment, I think you should review their first Spanish language song Narcisista next.
@@PrymalChaos That's a big commitment. They have 40 original songs so far, you've covered just two. And they'll be officially releasing #41 this Friday. And they have 5 more in reserve that have already been recorded as part of their first album for Lava Records.
BY FORCE, THE PASSION AND THE POWER OF THE MUSIC OF THE WARNING ARE APPRECIATED IN THIS ISSUE, A BEAUTIFUL RIFF, GOOD CONTENT, AN EXCELLENT INTERPRETATION, DISCIPLE
14:57 oh boy, you nailed it. If you want to see Pau going crazy watch Dust to dust live. And Danny's Crimson queen live. And maybe a song 13 years old girl (Pau) should newer write, Black holes, also live. I almost dare to say they don't play their songs, they live them on stage.
I appreciate your informative observations! The girls remained fiercely independent for years, turning down offers from people in the business who, in the end, wanted to change something about the band or their music or even how they dress. When they finally signed to a label, they made sure to retain creative control over what they do and even to retain their Patreon account with those fans who have supported them all along. Negotiations that generally are completed in around seven weeks took seven months. Lava Records CEO Jason Flom mentioned the fact that artists generally have their attorneys or their managers look over the contract and sign on their behalf. Not so with these three. They made sure they read and understood the contract before they signed it. The contract is for five albums, the first of which comprises the _Mayday_ EP and six more songs yet to be released, one of which ("Money") is due out Thursday night. I will be in their hometown seeing them present it live! The school the girls attended, Liceo de Monterrey, teaches all classes, except Spanish, in English. So yes, they are all fairly fluent in English. Thank you for reacting to The Warning!!
I don´t know if said in other comments here or in your last Warning reaction. The EP " Mayday" from which both tracks come from, were produced by David Bendeth. You can expect, that one of the most profineced rock music producers of the world adds the subtleties you notice. But Bendeth also notes in some interview, that the girls work also hard and extremly creative in the production.

They have been touring in the US and Canada since February. They are with Lava/Republic record now, but before they signed they were independent and produced two albums and one EP. In June they released the balance of their recording session from which the Mayday EP was produced. It's called Error and it includes 8 other tracks (one is a short intro to the album and one is a shorter track that is a bonus, which Pau sings and plays the piano. Yes, they opened for Foo Fighters in Mexico City before 55-60,000 people. Since then, they toured smaller venues across the US and did some concerts in Canada, selling out their concerts in several cities. They opened at one venue for Stone Temple Pilots. During the summer they toured with Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, and Lilith Czar and received a lot of attention and gained audience. They are going back on tour in the fall with Halestorm and then later on touring Canada with Three Days Grace. I think you're right. They are still in the building audience phase, transitioning from an indie band to a signed band with some backing from the label for producing videos and gaining airplay for their songs. They've been featured and interviewed on both Sirius/XM and MTV and numerous stations in cities where they were performing. While on tour they released singles for Money and Error. They continue to do what gained them success as an indie band, engaging with their fans on Patreon, Instagram and other social media. So the groundswell is still building for them. I expect they to be filling large venues as headliner sometime next year.
Enjoyed your reaction and analysis! Pau has said it’s easier to write lyrics in English because Spanish is apparently more wordy, and doesn’t lend itself easily to rock lyrics. That said, both of their Spanish songs are great, both lyrically and musically. The extras in this video were friends and fans in Monterrey. Subbing for more of The Warning. 👍 ☕️ 😎
I love their original sound that took years for them to develop. Looking forward to what they come up with next. This album will be hard to top but I have no doubt they can. The Warning have intelligent lyrics, catchy melodies and inventive song structures, which are all hard to find traits in a hard rock band these days. These young women are true professionals and already industry veterans.
The video looks like a big production but in fact The place is a museum so They just get this smoke machines and They asked their fans to help Them out and also their manager was involved in the movies industry so he produced The video and you know They get the screen and a template and it looks more expensive than really was. Told by Dany in an interview. Cool reaction!
I think COVID19 has slowed them down. They had to cancel their USA tour. They are starting to tour now and hopefully that will help them to get more publicity. They do deserve to be much more popular.
Well they're already in the machine, so they're signed to a label and you're right you can tell there's money behind them now, so they aren't anything like Mr Beast in that independece sense anymore, funny as to how I just listened to that guy on the JRE podcast yesterday, his story is amazing!, how he started and how he basically built his youtube empire from nothing, but TW will do fine, their team is just too business savvy to know and understand a great deal for them and the most important thing which is keeping their artistic integrity which is key.
They received many offers from record labels and turned them down because of how the labels wanted to handle them, Lave Records had what they wanted. Also, they speak English better than a lot of native English speakers 😀 “Narcisista”, if you want to see Pau really performing th-cam.com/video/O7IAEhN4RMM/w-d-xo.html
Sorry I didnt saw all your comments until now , your right about their progress, is a hard battle the talent and keeping their identity with what music industry in some places demands
16:46 - and they just *DID* rock 50,000+ fans as an opener for the Foo Fighters at Foro Sol in Mexico City several days ago. This was the moment that all the Warning Fans were waiting for and they absolutely KILLED it! They stuck around for the Foo Fighters and actually had a short meet up with Dave Grohl afterwards, and humble as they are in real life, the looks on their faces afterwards was pure fan girl!😍🤣 Paulina writes most of the lyrics and then they all work out how to present it to get the most out of them. They're always throwing a new curve or key change, or full stop, or whatever into each new song they write, and as a result, it's ALWAYS fresh. Good example would be their re-imagining of Enter Sandman for the new Metallica Blacklist album. They collaborated with Alessia Cara, a grammy-winning Canadian pop singer and in about 8 days or so, produced one of the most interesting 'covers' of that song I've ever heard. When they came up with the idea for the album, James and Lars both said, 'we don't want carbon copies of these songs.. turn them inside out, backwards, forwards, whatever fits YOUR style!' ...and that's exactly what The Warning and Alessia Cara did, and it was amazing!😁 (and I literally despise that song after hearing it a thousand times or so, since it was released). That said, these young ladies are going to be the ones to watch in the next few years as they mature and hone their craft to a razor edge!😉
Very good reaction. It's only a matter of time before The Warning become huge. They'll easily win over fans at festivals in the US and Europe, but their ability to appeal to a young female audience is a gamechanger.
Loved your reaction. Nice to see someone willing to go back and replay sections and offer a breakdown of the song. subscribed. I've only been in TWA for a couple of months but my suggestions are: - Mayday live sessions - these are all excellent and shouldn't be blocked - Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara - official video but shouldn't be blocked - Narcisista - you want the Foro Didi version because it was the first time they performed this song in public and it has a little extra attitude. They were being called cultural traitors because all their songs were in english. this is their first spanish song and its basically a big middle finger to those critics. and they display the lyrics behind them so everyone knows exactly what they're saying. th-cam.com/video/O7IAEhN4RMM/w-d-xo.html - Survive - this song/video is what hooked me and a lot of other TWA members. They were invited to play a 3 song set at TEDx and this is the last song of the set. I believe they were 16, 14, and 12 at the time. th-cam.com/video/eWg1Wwrm99o/w-d-xo.html - Dust to Dust - Pau singing. This is the prologue song for their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. Any version is fine.
"Dust to Dust - Pau singing. This is the prologue song for their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. Any version is fine." I highly recommend Foro Didi for most of their Queen of the Murder Scene album. Lunario concert for Crimson Queen, though; that song is very powerful at Lunario!
This is arguably their best song showing their maturity and different levels during the song. Traditional verse and chorus with a great breakdown then gradual build up to the final chorus. Very good song writing. They have quite a way to reaching major star status but it has to be seen in context in that the sisters are only 17,20 and 22. They really need other players as most great bands have more than 3 instruments. Yes sure U2 made it with only 3 but there's a lot of layering required in live performances. Whether that's an acceptable thing, only fans on the world stage will determine that. They have a real niche following now but to take it to the next stage, I believe will require extra help. Massive kudos to them now and they've shown their talent from a young age. I can see ways to improve. Ale varying her range and producing 'fills' like Misa in Band Maid but that's a learnt skill and she's only 17. That's the brilliant thing. So much time to learn and expand her repertoire. Pau's drumming is superb and there's nothing wrong with Dani's sound. Getting professional advice re further creativity won't go astray in their development. They still have plenty of that creativity now so treat that comment as constructive rather than criticism. Always looking forward to their next release. They deserve every success that comes their way.
They do live what you see on the video or what you hear on the album, other than 2021 "Enter Sandman". Watch it in the studio session they have that shouldn't be blocked. They have a 5 album deal with Lava, on The Warning's terms. So they won't have to compromise their music or fans.
They opened for Muse in England and France and for Guns and Roses in Mexico and the US as well as opeing for Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless in the US for several dates. They shot the video in their hometown and used local fans for all the extras. They have the whole concert from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX released on thier channel and any song on it is really good, Discople is my faovarite from the concert along with Revenant.
They are currently on a north american tour. They still have 6 songs not yet released. They recently signed to lava records. They released an EP & 2 albums via crowd funding before finally signing with anybody. About that live, telling u, dust to dust at lunario. They also have "live sessions" of Z, evolve, animosity & choke recorded in a studio. No blocks on those but no crowd either. Any live clips from lunario, foro didi, whiskey a-go go, & dakota bar have good audio. Dont forget a collab w/ alessia cara ,"enter sandman" (not live-MV)
Of all the reviews I’ve ever seen about The Warning, you touched something I’ve always known but no one else has said it. That hint of crazy in Pau’s eyes. I believe that that’s one of the things that makes her really good. She actually does lead vocals in a few songs. Dust to Dust here a few years ago live th-cam.com/video/TeIbG8nkOiU/w-d-xo.html How she keeps the rhythm going perfectly and singing at the same time is phenomenal! Playing drums you use all your five limbs. The fifth being your head, then using your mouth to sing. Leads and harmonies. All three are exceptional players of their instruments and all thee sing leads and harmonies. I’m 49 and I am super stoked that these girls of their generation are carrying the rock/metal torch! Rock on 🤘
You have no idea how many of us there are . I got hooked 3 years ago and quite honestly I don't listen to much else. I won't bore you about any of the facts about the band because I know you've already been bombarded 🤣🤣🤣
Easy-peasy name aid : Dany oldest on guitar, lead vocals Pau (POW!) on drums Ale (Al-leh) youngest, tallest on bass (but not Bass Ale) another first rate reactionalysis 🎯👍 ✌💖🎼
Here in latin america, most of people who speak english, learned at school, we have bilingual (spanish-english) schools. they studied in one of those. contrary to what happens in the United States where they only teach English.
Can’t wait for you to check out Evolve if you want see the right amount of crazy from Pau 😛 Not the 1st reactor to go on a scale search and getting surprised with the result. Great writing, and I always maintain, best heard live 👌
As mentioned below, "Narcisista" is one of (now three) songs in Spanish. In an interview Pau says she wrote the lyrics in English then translated into Spanish, but for one reason or another went to Mama for help. She corrected some grammar and made a few other changes to smooth out the flow of the words. I find it so interesting that the girls apparently are better at writing in English than in their native tongue. (If anyone is interested, I can track down that interview.)
That lower harmony you heard might be Alejandra (Ale) who often sings and harmonizes in a lower register. Yeah, they switched vocalists in the second verse. Dany sings the part of the idol hero while Pau sings the part of the "disciple in the making".
I'm seeing them live in a couple months in a venue that holds 380 people... I don't think that will happen again until they're doing a third farewell tour in their 70s, but not likely then either. Stadiums or arenas only from next year
Nice analysis -- this is the kind of review I like, because I learn something. Their manager Rudy Joffroy knows a lot of people around Monterrey and gets some really interesting locations.
Pau isn't crazy. She's an empath and a natural actress. One of those people who always know when there's a camera on them. As far as live performances go, anything from Foro Didi or The Whisky a Go Go will be good. They also have a lot of pro shot videos on their TH-cam page.
They have recently signed with lava records and this Mayday album is the first produced by Lava. However The Warning turned away record companies for years because they wanted to change their music, looks and take control away from them. The Warning finally signed an agreement with Lava that allows them to keep creative control, all of their patreon, youtube and other social media and they get to keep all the rights to their music past, present and future, they held true to their nature and refused to allow the recording industry to change their look and style or their sound. Most of their newer songs from the Mayday album are sometimes getting blocked by UMG despite being told not to. However, The Warning have Live studio versions of those songs which are just as good if not better, except for Disciple and Martirio which still haven't been release yet. You won't get blocked on any of their work prior to Mayday, so anything from the Queen of the Murder Scene album or XXI Century Blood or their covers will be fine to react to without worrying about being blocked. The Queen of the Murder Scene is a concept album that should be followed track by track in order to fully embrace the rock novel story that is being told, however each song still stands on it's own as a great one to listen to. Looking into their live stuff anything From Lunario CDMX or Foro Didi concerts are great, both were professionally filmed. Lunario was at a very high altitude so they struggled occasionally with getting enough air but still manged to put on one hell of a show, this is my favorite recorded concert. Foro Didi was also good but the production team embellished the audio with some studio recording and then, and there were also a couple of technical issues, like Danny's guitar not working for Crimson Queen, but she performed the song even better without it. At Lunario, Dany was 18, Pau was 16 and Ale was only 13.
What a great analysis... The Warning are taking the long route route to stardom, (with great direction from their parents and people around them) and will explode into mass appeal with the "Maday" EP and the next single "Money" dropping tonight at midnight tonight. My next pick for a reaction is "Evolve" which is a throwback to heavy metal/punk. The other thing is that their lyrics are so relevant "Your eyes will bleed as you stare at the screen". A lot of their insight is fresh and relevant and most of all the in your face truth. I have been following them since they dropped the Foo Fighters "The Pretender" cover and I have to say that most of their output is of high quality. I will be looking forward to your next reaction...
Last Year when Metallica Celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Black Album they asked 53 Artist to record covers of the song from the Black Albums, and they took all those covers and made The Blacklist Album, The Warning are one of those Artists, they Teamed up with Canadian Pop singer Alessia Cara and recorded a cover of "Enter Sandman" well it's not a cover but a reimagining of the Song, the Song and the Video are Awesome.
This one rocks, Ale's bass really shines, Pau's drums are hard-hitting as always, and the shared lead by Dany & Pau was the high point for me, it's a great and energetic song. 🤘
The Warning were Signed by Lava/Republic records in 2020, The Rock Radio Station in my Hometown they tell me they don't have any of their Music when I request they play them.
Check out their recent cover of Enter Sandman. 21st Century Blood is absolute gold... check that too. Love these girls. Oh and Martirio Cheers brother 🤘😎
*Fun Fact:* The Warning are Mexicans. Spanish is their first language but are fluent in English as well. With that said. The critics in Mexico claim these sisters were ashamed of their heritage. Calling them a malinchista. Well, in turn. They wrote an all Spanish song called *Narcisista.* A big F.U. to those critics. Narcisista (lyric video w/Espanol & English): th-cam.com/video/ZueriCDqW7g/w-d-xo.html Narcisista (first time playing song live): th-cam.com/video/O7IAEhN4RMM/w-d-xo.html Their 2nd all Spanish song is called *Martirio* for Martyrdom. They debuted this song during their Argentina tour of 2019. Here is a video from one of those shows (w/ English subtitles) performing their earlier version. Martirio: (2019) th-cam.com/video/e4ZdrPZN_GE/w-d-xo.html Martirio: (official music video 2021) th-cam.com/video/KRA3nMzF31M/w-d-xo.html *Fun Fact II:* The Warning has yet to perform Martirio live in any country except Argentina & Mexico. That will change when The Warning really begins their 2022 Mayday tour in April.
Hi Chaos, enjoyed your reaction. The Warning signed for Lava records about 18 months ago and the two songs you have reacted to are from their last EP, Mayday. Prior to signing with Lava records they were fan funded whether it was through Patreon or kick starter, they still managed to release another EP and two albums independently. To this day The Warning has an interaction and affinity with their loyal fan base like no other. They are humble and almost regard their fans as family or close friends. If you want to see Pau the drummer go crazy then performances from Lunario or Foro did are professionally shot and audio great. Songs like Dust to Dust and Narcisista will showcase Pau more whilst Dull knives is another great rock song. Always giving 100% with their performances these 3 sisters will eventually be a household name. I am from England, no connections with the music industry and I have been a avid fan since the first time I heard Dust to Dust. Hope to see you discover mote about this amazing band and I am very interested to hear more of your music breakdowns and share them with us at a greater frequency. Can't wait till the next one. 🤟
Great reaction and breakdown. I always enjoy reactors that take the time to really listen, and explain what they just heard. Also I was watching some of your other reacts to JMetal and that made me sub. Looking forward to more content.Peace from NYC
Then you'll enjoy Evolve and Pau's craziness and just to check out her talent, you should also check out Black Holes with her on piano and singing lead.
Pau's got just about the right level of crazy for a drummer. Best lyric she's written: "If karma doesn't hit you then I will." That's the kind of crazy I can get behind. 🤪
Lyric she's used. It is a fairly common phrase that's been around a while. Also paraphrased to make it more "punchy", imo.
Oh, and that whole Queen of the Murder Scene is slightly kinda crazy of sorts. 😂
You are so right about Pau's craziness. She takes it right to the edge. They have so many "crazy" lyrics. "I'm not in danger, I'm the danger." "I found out dull knives cut better." Have you ever read the lyrics to Psychotic? Talk about crazy. lol
@@btheaztec We mean it in a lovingly caring positive admirable way. LOVE IT!
@@andgar923 Exactly!
Yeah the reactors that listen then just say, hey that was pretty good, are a bit of a waste of time.
Yep
Thanks for the info! Man I feel like this festival season is gonna be one for the ages.
Liceo de monterrey is an international school
Yeah this is what I'm seeing in the comments. They are a force to be reckoned with.
They actually switch vocals on 2 other songs, "Survive" from their 1st album and "Sinister Smiles" from their 2nd.😁
They've been played on Sirius Octane
They've been played on Sirius Octane
The girls are HUGE!!!! Muse fans. They've actually admit it and it's one of their influences.
So I want just imagining it. 😆 It's a great bass sound so I'm totally on board.
Their writing is so beyond their years. 21st Century Blood Video is what sold me on them.
I'm hoping that they are at the forefront of a new generation of rock. It's about time.
An update, The Warning are going to tour with Halestorm, and The Pretty Reckless for a couple of months.
As far as this old goat is concerned, They went more sexy but still classy on their recent MTV VMA performance. However I think/hope and mainly expect that they did it there on their own terms and in their own time. Also it did not detract from their performance there, they crushed that.
Nice reaction/analisys.
Low harmony = Alejandra
High/? harmony = Paulina
I love that note was unexpected..it's kinda melancholic n dramatic but def connects the part that follows to the rest of the song... 😊💕
I've thought about it more and while b natural doesn't appear in the key of Dmin it does appear in variations of it like D melodic minor or D Dorian. That explains the spicy flavour without technically breaking the key centre. Very cool composition.
@@PrymalChaos now in English: ..it fits 🤪
Thanks for the links! I swear you guys make it way too easy to fall down the rabbit hole. 😜🤘
Yeah I tend to agree. Disciple is a powerful word when you consider it's meaning.
Wow! Thank you! Also I'm sure I'll get to all of their material at some point. 😎
@@PrymalChaos That's a big commitment. They have 40 original songs so far, you've covered just two. And they'll be officially releasing #41 this Friday. And they have 5 more in reserve that have already been recorded as part of their first album for Lava Records.
You want to see Pau go crazy watch the offical video of Evolve!
Black Holes is my favorite song.
"Just the right amount of crazy"
"Pau's got the right amount of crazy" 🤔yeah that's correct.🤣😂 💯
They are on top of the game for sure. They are hitting it big time now. They started out as little kids now they are playing stadiums.
Wow! Thank you for the background info. I really appreciate you taking the time.
He truly is a legendary producer / mix engineer. I think what he did is take great material and just add that level of "world class" polish.

Thanks mate! For the info and the sub!
They’re the full package.
This is why the Jewels of Monterrey are the future of Rock.
I think COVID19 has slowed them down. They had to cancel their USA tour. They are starting to tour now and hopefully that will help them to get more publicity. They do deserve to be much more popular.
Really hope EVOLVE is next. That one and this one are my favorites, currently.
They are not independent. They signed with Jason Flom of Lava / Republic Records June 23, 2020.
Badass bass play from a badass bass player!!!
It sounds like they have the confidence to keep their label in check.
These girls are fire!. Good review, very interesting.
live performance will blow your mind, greetings from Panama
I think I got on board at just the right time to watch them explode.
Very good reaction. It's only a matter of time before The Warning become huge. They'll easily win over fans at festivals in the US and Europe, but their ability to appeal to a young female audience is a gamechanger.
Loved your reaction. Nice to see someone willing to go back and replay sections and offer a breakdown of the song. subscribed.
I've only been in TWA for a couple of months but my suggestions are:
- Mayday live sessions - these are all excellent and shouldn't be blocked
- Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara - official video but shouldn't be blocked
- Narcisista - you want the Foro Didi version because it was the first time they performed this song in public and it has a little extra attitude. They were being called cultural traitors because all their songs were in english. this is their first spanish song and its basically a big middle finger to those critics. and they display the lyrics behind them so everyone knows exactly what they're saying.
th-cam.com/video/O7IAEhN4RMM/w-d-xo.html
- Survive - this song/video is what hooked me and a lot of other TWA members. They were invited to play a 3 song set at TEDx and this is the last song of the set. I believe they were 16, 14, and 12 at the time.
th-cam.com/video/eWg1Wwrm99o/w-d-xo.html
- Dust to Dust - Pau singing. This is the prologue song for their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. Any version is fine.
Thanks for the suggestions! The whole cultural traitors thing is just sad. I wish people would just let others express themselves.
"Dust to Dust - Pau singing. This is the prologue song for their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. Any version is fine."
I highly recommend Foro Didi for most of their Queen of the Murder Scene album. Lunario concert for Crimson Queen, though; that song is very powerful at Lunario!
Figuring out that *they* wrote "Survive" and watching that in concert did it for me. Awesome performance.
@@Edcognito watch pau break a stick and casually pick up another one without missing a beat
Great reaction. GREAT band! I can’t wait for the next one.
Imagine these guys I'm 10 more years. 🤯
They do live what you see on the video or what you hear on the album, other than 2021 "Enter Sandman". Watch it in the studio session they have that shouldn't be blocked. They have a 5 album deal with Lava, on The Warning's terms. So they won't have to compromise their music or fans.
It is eefreshing to hear an intelligent, knowledgeable analysis as opposed to a mindless, "Wow! That was really great. See you next week."
Good detailed reaction!
Love the video. You cannot go wrong with anything by The Warning. Their youtube has a lot of live performances.
They shot this video in a city park a very short distance from their home. The park is built around an old steel mill that ceased operating long ago.
Great reaction with some really interesting points you make. "Just the right amount of crazy.." for description of Pau. Yep!
I’ll keep working in the salt mines if you keep rocking. Nice line.
One of those six is coming in 3 days, MONEY ⚡️
"Does the drummer sing these live?" - Mwahahahaaaa! Oh, you have NO idea!
Of all the reviews I’ve ever seen about The Warning, you touched something I’ve always known but no one else has said it. That hint of crazy in Pau’s eyes. I believe that that’s one of the things that makes her really good. She actually does lead vocals in a few songs. Dust to Dust here a few years ago live th-cam.com/video/TeIbG8nkOiU/w-d-xo.html
How she keeps the rhythm going perfectly and singing at the same time is phenomenal! Rock on 🤘
Can't wait to hear more stuff from them.
They are incredible
You have no idea how many of us there are . I got hooked 3 years ago and quite honestly I don't listen to much else. I won't bore you about any of the facts about the band because I know you've already been bombarded 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Michael. 🤘
Pau is the main writer. She is the captain. As well as drumming and sing she controls stage lighting screens and effects.
"Why can't the warlord dictators be as cool as these chicks?" Hahaha. You've got my sub!
😃 thank you.
Great reaction. The Warning is addictive. Subscribed!!!
Yep. There will be more to come.
Great reaction. I learned a lot from your reaction. If you want to see Pau drumming and singing at the same time, check Dust to Dust live.
Easy-peasy name aid :
Dany oldest on guitar, lead vocals
Pau (POW!) on drums
Ale (Al-leh) youngest, tallest on bass
(but not Bass Ale)
another first rate reactionalysis 🎯👍
✌💖🎼
"reactionalysis" I like that!! 🤘😆 Is that something you came up with or is that a thing?
@@PrymalChaos I think I may have seen it once. I've been using it a while.
Here in latin america, most of people who speak english, learned at school, we have bilingual (spanish-english) schools. they studied in one of those.
contrary to what happens in the United States where they only teach English.
Good to know! Thank you!
Stadiums or arenas only from next year
Awesome!
They are beyond amazing!
Nice analysis -- this is the kind of review I like, because I learn something.
Their manager Rudy Joffroy knows a lot of people around Monterrey and gets some really interesting locations.
Thanks Robert!
Latest album is out now (July 2022) and it is the only music I am listening. They currently are on a North American tour which ends on November.
On a couple of ocassion during current tour Pau has taken over lead vocals when Dany had throat problems.
Pau isn't crazy. She's an empath and a natural actress. One of those people who always know when there's a camera on them.
As far as live performances go, anything from Foro Didi or The Whisky a Go Go will be good. They also have a lot of pro shot videos on their TH-cam page.
Nice. Thank you!
I can't imagine why a label would want to mess with what they already have. It's crazy! Let artists be artists!
I will just recommend "Survive at TEDx 2017" and leave... I'll look forward to it. Great reaction btw :)
Thank you!
I had a look but stopped because I may have to react to it. It sounds great!
In northen Mexico, English is our second language.
This one rocks, Ale's bass really shines, Pau's drums are hard-hitting as always, and the shared lead by Dany & Pau was the high point for me, it's a great and energetic song. 🤘
🗣Thank you for sharing your reaction with us!
🤘🤠💯🔥
The Warning were Signed by Lava/Republic records in 2020, The Rock Radio Station in my Hometown they tell me they don't have any of their Music when I request they play them.
... for now. I'd imagine they'll be playing the heck out of them in 12 months.
Check out their recent cover of Enter Sandman. 21st Century Blood is absolute gold... check that too. Love these girls. Oh and Martirio
Cheers brother 🤘😎
Excelente! Great reaction! More The Warning
Oh, almost forgot, they make their own music
*Fun Fact:* The Warning are Mexicans. Spanish is their first language but are fluent in English as well. With that said. The critics in Mexico claim these sisters were ashamed of their heritage. Calling them a malinchista. Well, in turn. They wrote an all Spanish song called *Narcisista.* A big F.U. to those critics.
Narcisista (lyric video w/Espanol & English):

Their 2nd all Spanish song is called *Martirio* for Martyrdom. They debuted this song during their Argentina tour of 2019. Here is a video from one of those shows (w/ English subtitles) performing their earlier version.
Martirio: (2019)

Martirio: (official music video 2021)

*Fun Fact II:* The Warning has yet to perform Martirio live in any country except Argentina & Mexico. That will change when The Warning really begins their 2022 Mayday tour in April.
That's awesome!
I'm all in on this one. Can't wait to do more. Thanks for the recommendations.
Great reaction and breakdown. I always enjoy reactors that take the time to really listen, and explain what they just heard. Also I was watching some of your other reacts to JMetal and that made me sub. Looking forward to more content.Peace from NYC
Thanks Joe!
That bass intro tho!!!!! 🤘😍🤘
Then you'll enjoy Evolve and Pau's craziness and just to check out her talent, you should also check out Black Holes with her on piano and singing lead.
