    Please note in question #15 there the correct answer is A since the Project Manager would not meet with individual team members but rather consult or talk to stakeholders before suggesting or making changes to the project variables.
    Option D says individual team members and not stakeholders.
    A PM must perform an impact assessment/analysis of all changes before incorporating them.
    Also, changes must always be analyzed for impact on various project variables before a decision is taken on them (this a key PMI mindset or a proper PM mindset).
    Sincerely,
    Rohit from CareerSprints.com

    I have been studying, but I still get some questions that I think should be easy wrong. I will come across a similar question, apply the logic given to the other question, and get blindsided when it’s wrong. Example, changes to scope. There are a number of questions where the answer involves issuing change request and the reasoning provided is that a change to scope MUST go through a change request. Then you see questions like the one in the video about the senior company executive who comes by occasionally to give instruction about urgent feature work. One answer is require issuing of change request. The correct answer is meet with the executive and product owner to agree on a workflow. With the executive occasionally coming by, wouldn’t this only fix it this time vs requiring change request for new items fixing it all the time? Also, how do you differentiate when a question is looking through a lens that wants can you pick change request vs other answers?

    For Question 15, the option selected and the answer provided are a mismatch. Also for the " stem " or the ending line of questions how is the following different . For instance what is the difference between the 2 questions : How should the project manager RESPOND or what should the project manager DO NEXT ? are both questions same or different as depending on that the mechanism adopted for option selection could vary..

    Q4. A) The fact that end users did not complete their training is no more a risk. It is an issue. Updating the risk register could not, therefore, be the best choice.

    • @careersprints9681
      @careersprints9681  ปีที่แล้ว

      The correct answer for the question is A, you will not wait until the next project status meeting to raise a risk, by then it might be too late which makes B wrong. The risk if raised can be mitigated so that it doesn't become an issue later on. Unresolved risks can turn into issues.

    I would strongly disagree with this answer. This impacts so many people who are also stakeholders (other Teams), perhaps they already have the requested time and resources scheduled for something else. A PM should instinctively, have already completed an impact statement. He should work with stakeholders and project teams to discuss whether this is a viable option, and also get buy-in from all who are involved. Hey, I will give them what they want in order to get certified.

    Differemnce between Agile Aliance and PMI?

    • @careersprints9681
      @careersprints9681  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gopal,
      PMI is the project management institute, the body that governs PMP certifications and the Agile alliance is another company which promotes agile values, principles and practices globally. The Agile practice guide, one of the recommended books for the PMP exam is written collaboratively by the Agile Alliance and PMI.

    Very interesting scenarios built for these questions. The explanation presented on the slide for question 15 did not go in line with the choice selected. Also for evaluating any change request, it should be submitted to change control board, not a senior person.

    • @careersprints9681
      @careersprints9681  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jagan. Thanks for your comment. For question #15, the primary thing to factor in for the explanation is that since the sponsor is requesting the project length to be shortened this is a change request and the PM will need to check with stakeholders if there is a possibility to reduce the scope of the project to deliver within the timelines (reducing project scope does help with delivering the project faster).
      The correct answer is A because the PM would need to analyze the impact of this schedule change before incorporating the change.
      Changes must always be analyzed for impact on various project variables before a decision is taken on them.
      Also, a change control board is a role that can be taken on by anyone who has the authority to approve or reject a change. This could also be a senior person in an organization, think of small organizations where one person might wear many hats. This means a change control board can be one person too, also called a change authority in some organizations. The term doesn't matter as much as having a person or a committee to take decisions on changes.
      Hope this clarifies your question.

    For Question 13 , the most suitable appears to be Option C . Instead of D. The items from the Prioritized backlog are SELECTED OR PICKED by the TEAM. They are NOT prioritizing the items , they are just "selecting "the items from the prioritized list basis their own bandwidth and team capacity/ resources at that point of time. The Product owner autonomously could be do product grooming/ Refinement / prioritization as per the business needs , but POST THAT selection of the items from that prioritized list ( which technically is called the SPRINT BACKLOG )is at the sole discretion of the development team . Or the product owner decides which items will be picked and which will BE LEFT in the upcoming iteration? Request you to shed some light on this nuance.

    • @careersprints9681
      @careersprints9681  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Sumit,
      The reason why 'C' is wrong is because the option says 'Select prioritized items from the Sprint backlog'. The team would select items from the Product backlog to include in the sprint backlog. Had it been 'Select items from the product backlog' instead of 'sprint backlog', C would be the correct answer.
      Hence, the correct answer is 'D' because the team can always add items to the product backlog for the product owner to prioritize.

    • @stayreal9140

      I still disagree with Q13. I don’t believe a team member can add to product backlog. Only the product owner can. Option C still seems correct. Since it talks about selecting ‘for’ the sprint backlog

    • @careersprints9681
      @careersprints9681  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@stayreal9140 A Product Backlog is a wish list of what stakeholders want to see in a product/service. It isn't necessary that the Product Owner would choose everything that's put in the backlog to be built. For option C on why it's wrong, kindly read the explanation given at the top and you'll understand why it's wrong.
      --Rohit from CareerSprints.com

    • @Relaxingsounds647
      @Relaxingsounds647 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason C is wrong is because Product owner does not work on the sprint backlog that's reserved only for the developers. Developers generate the sprint backlog from the already priorized project backlog

    Shouldnt be the answer for Question 2 be : Performing instead of Norming... Since they are working " COHESIVELY " ... ( Key Word in Performing stage)

    • @careersprints9681
      @careersprints9681  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Sumit,
      For question 2, it is stated in the scenario that the team has just moved from arguments and contradictions to healthier and better ways of communication. Also, the team has recently developed team norms and procedures for working cohesively. They've not been consistently cohesive which is a characteristic of 'performing'. Hence, the answer is 'norming'.
