Hi Lucy, just watched your toy museum video, I thought I'd tell you about the spectacular museum of childhood in the royal mile Edinburgh, I think you would love it, I lived many years in Scotland and visited it many times it's well worth the trip, keep up the great work you are a lovely lady with a sense of the past and interests that mirror my own, regards Lynne.
@@throughlucyslens you're more than welcome I know you'll enjoy it, can't wait to see your video on it, I'm in Derbyshire now so I don't get up there very often
Absolutely wonderful. I love old museums. After I left the Army in the early 1980s I decided to find my Great Uncle's Wargrave from WWI. I knew where he had been interred in 1917, so I started there. This turned out to be a challenging endeavour. His body had been moved in 1964. From the Hospital where he was originally buried I travelled across France following various leads. This meant staying in towns and villages gathering more details. During this time I discovered lots of little museums. Many Toy museums as well as memorials and tributes to the fallen. The toy museums were an entirely new experience for me and helped fill my time after long journeys. Thank you for this excellent trip down memory lane. I love your work. Cheers
Wow what an adventure. I am currently also on the hunt for a WW1 monument, there's no body as he went down with his ship. Small museums have such heart and are often so unexpected. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Sounds amazing!
@@throughlucyslens I can assure you I am not at all adventurous. It was a time of small towns and villages, interspersed with overnight train rides. My Great Uncle now rests at Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille. He was only 17 years old. Best of Luck to you in completing your quest. Warmest Regards.
You visit places I love and this is no exception. We are so like minded.. I have two dolls houses and collect bears and a few dolls. I must check out your dolls house vlog. Loved the museum and recognised so many of the toys on display. I had a few of them. Glad the staff were welcoming. Yes, it is important that these exhibits are retained for posterity. Thanks again Lucy.😊
Very welcome, the dolls houses in one of my early videos actually belong to my Mom - I am very lucky to be able to go and see them whenever I want. I love dolls houses because you can just imagine you are in another world can't you?
Wow what a place, the toys that intrest me the most are the cute little bits and bats in the old dolls houses the furniture is gorgeous, all hand carved and real fabric unlike the ones of today where is all flimsy plastic and stickers, thanks for sharing i really did enjoy it stay safe out there ❤
I follow you on your videos from New Zealand having lived here for 17 years since moving from the UK anything from the past intrigues me and I enjoy watching you every week please keep the visits to museums etc coming for us to enjoy
I promise I will!! I am having a bit of an "enforced break" at the moment as lots of places are closed over the height of winter so there isn't too much to explore but I am looking forward to the spring so much to get back out and about again :)
They are lovely aren't they? I was a very little girl and I had a replica silver cross, my Nan brought it me for my 3rd birthday - I wish I had kept it, it was a work of art really! Not a toy.
You are very good cleaning on a Saturday night! I'm editing tomorrow's video but it seems both our neighbours are having parties ... gotta wait for some quiet to do the voiceover 😅
@@throughlucyslens- Lol 🤣 and thanks. It's just my generic after dinner 🍽️ kitchen clean 🪥 so nothing out of the ordinary. Hopefully the music 🎶🎵 was decent 😊 Were you able to do your voice over?
Brilliant video especially as I’m taking my 11 year old son for the first time tomorrow. He has autism and he is non verbal but I think this is going to be right up his alley 😄🥰
If I go somewhere else like this I'll be sure to get the prams in for you. I had a mini silver cross when I was a child, very lucky indeed, my great Nan got it for me.
I would love to see that Toy Museum. Underneath Brighton Rail station. I'll tell my sister she is going to Brighton soon. Its a shame it isn't in one of the Arches near the pier. I would have to go by train, as hardly any walking involved when your off the train. Thank you for posting this video. I would also love to see your Mum's Dolls Houses.
Hi, Lucy. I´m a fan of toy museums, and this one is great. And I remember you first video, the one where you showed the collection of doll houses. Thank you, best wishes from Buenos Aires
Yes, so tucked away and barely advertised unless you happen to look up at the bridge outside the train station. Maybe one day you will visit again and put that right :)
Star wars, action figures,he man lots more, and collecting stamps, beer mats stickers, football, glad i kept the vinyls all these years, and still buy new and re issues to this day, i buy back things if i see them again poster magazines, vinyls, and have an excellent book that has 1978-1985 football stickers all in glossy pictures when i used to collect them thanks again.
I loved Panini sticker books .. although I was more Care Bears and My Little Pony .. I don't think I ever finished one though! There was always that illusive sticker that you never managed to get! We have a complete Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles one upstairs .. :)
@@throughlucyslens get the panni book, league and international one,1978-1985 shows the original sticker and player information, they are not stickers, but the photo but look amazing well worth thanks lucy.
Wow what a treasure trove of toys! I love the Pelham puppets, my dad has a couple, he used to get them out when we were young, but like you, it was very much 'look but don't touch'. I'd love to look around the museum next time I'm in Brighton x
Honestly you could spend many many happy hours in there. It’s so chilled out and they make the visit really comfortable. I bet if I went back I would see totally different things.
As a Sussex girl (now living in the Midlands) I thought West Hill lift from my home town of Hastings and the Long Man of Wilmington on the model railway was a lovely nod to the County! Plus Harveys is much nicer than Bass.
Such a fab find! You could lose an entire day in there exploring everything. As someone who is too sentimental to part with any of the soft toys I was gifted as a baby the vintage teddy bears would always be the highlight for me. My grandad would’ve loved the Dinky collection and the micro models though
So true! I would have stayed longer but I arrived pretty late. It was amazing, I loved how chill they were and it felt like a real explore rather than a museum.
@@throughlucyslens Oh that's a real shame. As a doll collector, that would have been what I'd be looking for. Lovely museum though, my husband would love all those trains and the meccano.

What a truly wonderful place. Thanks for filming Lucy and sharing with us 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! I was so happy on reflection it was raining otherwise I would never found it! X
Such a magical place! I loved my tea set when I was a child. And wooden puzzles and blocks and my husband enjoyed viewing the trains. Thank you!❤️
Very welcome! Thank you for spending your time coming with me :)
Looks a cool place 👍🌟

My grandparents had a bagatelle game like that. Don't know what happened to it?
My Grandad had one too - we all loved it!! One of my cousins has it now. It has all our names written all over it - we all wanted to play with it :)
