Breathing protection is never a bad idea but lead does not vapourise until > 1700c basically never going to happen with this setup. He is in well ventilated area so that helps also. Biggest risk is the molten metal before he moved to ground level. As for the lead, handling it gives more exposure than fumes. The dust when it oxidises is the worst. Important to wash hands after of course

Erm you should definitely wear some quality breathing equipment. Lead fumes are odourless and very dangerous. Don’t do what this guys done !
