The weights on this event were light for the athletes, like kaz said, it was a race at that point
Yes, Im pretty sure the reason is Worlds in just 2 weeks. To prevent injuries
a race like this is ztill a challenge.
@@volodymyrmoskalenko exactly, imagine the criticism they'd get for injuring half the competing athletes a couple of weeks before WSM. Plus many athletes just wouldn't have competed at ESM, as it is already some (understandably) save themselves.

@@simenandersen3262 Ha! there were a number of injuries this year but not sure ESM or Giants Live can be blamed for all. Just the way it goes sometimes.
Who withdrew before WSM? Novikov, Flowers, Licis (although isnt that a long standing nerve issue?) and Mateusz (again long standing issue i believe?). Harraldsen from Iceland (has he been at a giants live show ever?)
There was also a few at worlds itself Thompson, Bish and Big Gav. Both Thompson and Bish i feel like had recently injured themselves during either training or other comps too?
The truth is its a brutal sport and worlds is a long slog for the guys (as it should be). This is testing the world strongest so it needs to be tough!

My friend one time told me.
This new events isnt about strenght but you have to be fast and run like kids from school. But this atlets have 10x more strenght like me a cant say nothing. Great sport with great people which ate extreme strong.

Dennis hat sowas glaub nie im Plan drinn oder? Was ich aus Dennis seinen Storys rausgehört hab. Muss er mit weniger Pause zwischen den Übungen trainieren, hit/Cardio fehlt bestimmt auch

@@Julian-mk7hd nein, kohlruss hätte von der Kraft her locker in die Top 5 kommen können. Lag viel am Tempo des Wettkampfes und an ungewohntem Equipment. Er wird darauf trainieren und nächstes Jahr deutlich besser abschneiden
@Dario Hoss also hasn't done much comps for while I think at least he has experience in these shows now
Er hatte ja mal vor einiger Zeit angekündigt, dass er abnehmen wolle. Davon ist er dann aber wieder abgekommen und setzt wieder auf Masse, damit er beim Log stark ist. Er wiegt ja jetzt wieder 175/180 KG
