      Quick question what picture profile settings are you using for hlg? I assume hlg 3? Are you changing values in camera to get that great picture straight away?

      Same here, thanks Sidney! If you have the time to answer (no problem if not, I know how much work it is), do you have tips for exposing Slog / Cine4 for snow? I underexposed by around 1 to 2 stops with cine 4 and the a6500. Still, the snow clips hard at many scenes.

      For snow, I would look at your histogram and OVER expose by 1 stop or so

    I think you should convert slog to rec 709 first before starting to the correction.

    Hey Sidney, just wanted to point out a mistake that might be confusing to others. In the curves panel, you were actually adjusting Sat vs Sat, but you were talking about Luma vs Sat. What Sat vs Sat does is anything on the left side is what is not saturated and things on the right side as the most saturated. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone wondering.

    Awesome work, skin tone isolation my favourite technique because you can also control the color of any object in the frame. Combine that with a mask and it's give you lots of ability to control your look.

    Very useful video thank you. By the way HLG is HYBRID log gamma and not High log gamma. The thing that fascinates me with these videos is one frame is corrected as if it was a photo where as we know the video consists of many frames. So when you are grading skin tones via a mask does the mask move with the people or does PP simply treat that colour in the same way wherever it finds it.

Just a question: I'm working on Premiere Pro 2018 and the Hue Saturation Curves on this version seem different from yours, there are no linear quadrants with "beautiful lines" there but only a single circular scheme. How to adapt correction on this new HSC scheme? Thanks again!

    Yo...nice vid...anyway I don't understand why you close the mask while changing the skintone. You have the isolated color and the skin tone line...make the adjustment there to be more precise. Am i right or not?

      You have to select them with the wrench icon at the bottom of that panel

    Hey i have a big doubt about HLG, don't you have to convert bt2020 to rec709 before? I ve seen this step in final cut, but you didn't do it in premiere. Is this step necessary?

      He selected 709 in the camera hlg settings in the picture profile. you only convert to 709 if you selected bt2020 in camera

    Sat vs sat is increasing/decreasing the most/least saturated parts of the image, has nothing to do with shadows/highlights. To do what you are talking about use luma vs sat.
