    That works great, what a difference with the cable. Great job

      It definitely makes it useable, I’ll be revisiting this soon when I get out on the lake for some fishing.
      Cheers Buddy 🍻

    This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
    Side note, you have THE most Canadian accent I’ve ever heard, and I mean that in a good way

    you have to cut the end at a certain length.
    2.4 inches I believe.
    it has to do with how antennas work and
    how radio waves transmit

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Works fine for me the way I have it. Haven’t used it in sometime though

    Have you tried it in sea water? Am wondering if the conductivity of sea water reduces the signal transfer from the camera to the cable.....

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I have never actually thought about trying it in sea water. I’ll see about giving it a try and film a video.
      Have a great day 👍💯

    Does it work only for the go pro or any action camera

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve only tried it with the GoPro, but I do plan on trying it with a couple other brands that I own and I’m optimistic. It’s going to work.

    Loved that idea, will use it to explore hidden depths😊, I have a question you may be able to help with, I use a Hero 7 and 8 Black and woul d like to know if I can control my cameras with a remote, without WiFi,I have two of the older two button remotes which will control my two remotes via WiFi, what I would like is not to use wifi(as this creates crackling on my audio), is there another way? Voice is not consistent enough? Thanks and hope you can help, stay safe🍻

      I believe you are able to use a remote over Bluetooth if I’m not mistaken.
      I’ll look into it see if I can come up with anything and let you know if I do

      The GoPro smart remote will work with the Hero 7 Black and Hero 8 Black. It connects via Bluetooth.

    Neat hack. 👍🏻👍🏻 I bet if you soldered a full wave cubicle quad driven element to each end of your coax you wouldn’t have any drop out or lag at all.

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, I’m sure it can definitely be better, for now it does the job but I may have to upgrade at some point 😁
      Cheers 🍻

      @RCModSquad 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      VAN CITY RC it’s an easy upgrade. 4.8” of wire formed into a square and soldered to the shield and center conductor at each end. 😃

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will definitely give it a try.

    Do you make these set ups and sell them?

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don’t, very easy to make just need some coaxial cable a waterproof case, zip ties and some mounting pads.
      Probably cost less than $20 including the waterproof case

  • @dirtfishingnewfoundland4353

    Would it work with 20 ft of cable?

    • @Van_City
      @Van_City  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it would. I’ve used it 10’ with no issues
