    This is hands down the best video out there for pulling a dash. I pulled mine in 35-40 min watching this video. Everyone else makes it look so hard. Absolutely fantastic video.

    I watched the video many times and I did the same thing in my 99 Mustang and I replaced the heater core and everything was fine. The only difference is that I did not remove the steering wheel alone, but rather from the steering column with only one bolt. I thank you very much for this wonderful effort. I benefited from you and saved money instead of... Going to the maintenance shop, keep going, you are truly amazing 👍🏻

    This is a great video for pulling dash. If you don't want to break your hands getting the heater core out of the box, disconnect the evaporator coils that are right next to the heater core and pull out the entire heater box. Now you have easy access to all the screws.

    Really enjoyed this video! This is confirmation that I can tackle this job. I'm swapping out the tan interior for charcoal gray along with replacing the heater core. It's obvious you've put in a serious amount of time to produce your content. Much respect. One thing I've noticed is that I saw your grandfather in there with you. I love this man. I know you can appreciate his time and guidance. That's golden! Enjoy those times with him

    Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Every time I turn the heat on in my '01 I smell coolant for the first 30 secs. I know it's just going to get progressively worse at this point so this is definitely on my to-do list. Probably not a bad idea to replace my evap core while I have the dash out too.

    Great video! Your very lucky to have family who encourage and helps. Let me tell you some tricks about mustang heater cores, and hopefully this will save you some heartache and headache lol. As you've no doubt noticed, the heater core inlet tube had a restrictor, since ford didnt have the sense to use a heater core valve. This restrictor IS NOT ENOUGH of a reduction in the water pressure for someone to really rev out a 4.6 on. Replace it with F1UZ-18D406-A. This is a revised restrictor for 4.6's that have had multiple heater core failures. Also your going to want to add a ground strap to one of the heater core tubes with a clamp and ground that out to the chassis. I blew out 3 heater cores before doing these things and havent had to replace the last one yet.

I noticed the blend door opens and closes but don’t know what position it was in when I took the dash out, do you know whether I should put it in the open or closed position when I plug the connector back in to reinstall the dash? It would suck to put everything back together and not have the hvac work properly. Thanks!

      Twas my first time ever doing this too so I appreciate it & thank you!

    So question. I have had the left side apart many times. I can’t see any reason why the seats had to be removed. I know it sucks for space and would be necessary for a bigger guy. Do you actually need to remove the seats?

    • @Thatlowdsg

      Nah you don't actually have to, I just did it for more room personally and for the camera. Its only an extra 8 bolts and some weight to remove them but for the extra room it was worth it to me!

      Check your battery terminals are tight or maybe the battery needs a little charge. Check the PCM connections are all plugged back in.
      If the anti theft light is flashing but won’t starting there’s a online forum on how to reset it.
      If you messed with the coil packs, injectors, or clean the MAF.
      Fuel pump priming? If not check the interia switch in the trunk is in the correct position.

      Check all the wires for the ground on the negative battery terminal, also look up an anti theft lock out vid on yt they explain it well. I had this issue out of the blue recently but one of the wires was loose leading to the battery terminal. Hope this helps

    I'm pretty sure that what wrong with mine.
    Idk
    Would it leak threw the firewall
    That what mine doing
    Can I still drive it even though it does that
    Is there way to by pass it
    I miss driving

    • @Thatlowdsg
      @Thatlowdsg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sure did miss driving too in this period..
      If its leaking thru the firewall then it must be one of the hoses going in or out of the Heater core (HC). I wouldn’t drive it as you’ll be spilling engine coolant everywhere, there’s a bypass I showed it a little in this video. You connect the connection from the back left top of the intake to the bottom connection. With those two going into each other you can drive it as a bypass.

    • @dustinwestphalen3912
      @dustinwestphalen3912 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I do the bypass how long can I drive like that
      Bc I'm doing it right now

    • @Thatlowdsg
      @Thatlowdsg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the bypass you can drive it daily. Just keep an eye on your coolant levels and the connections are tight. You can drive until you replace the HC. I used the bypass for months and didnt have issues over heating or coolant issues.

    I got the dash out but theres a cable from shifter to dash. How do i get that off. 02 gt vert

    • @Thatlowdsg
      @Thatlowdsg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is it an automatic? I figure if its like the manual trans shifter cable you take off the dust cover and remove the cable underneath, the other end goes up thru the firewall to the clutch pedal where it connects.
      Im not sure if the automatic is routed similar I didnt know they may of ran it to the dash on automatics.

    • @nekesrub5327
      @nekesrub5327 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thatlowdsg yea it's an auto and the cable runs from the shifter to under the steering wheel

    • @Thatlowdsg
      @Thatlowdsg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay, I know to disconnect mine from the pedal connection it slips up and over out of the grooves and underneath the trans there’s a clip and cover and it slides out too. For the automatic I’m honestly not sure I’ve never had experience working on one.
      Best i could say is looking up a tutorial on how to remove the shifter cable or a Mustang forum probably has details.
      Sorry man hope this may help.
