It's the small attention-to-details that make diorama building wonderful. From the non-skid on the well deck to the seagulls on the mooring lines. Brings back old memories of my Navy days. Well done!
You could compose a photo of this diorama over a photo of a real harbor and people would be hard pressed to realize the diorama isn't the real thing. What a beautiful piece of work, again!
Was just watching this video, and thinking the same thing. According to the caption it's supposed the be a SAN DIEGO DIORAMA. The way the display is done is cool, but I have to agree, if it's supposed to be San Diego there should be a photo or some kind displaying the Embarcadero, the ships being tied up at North Island, or the 32nd St Naval Base, something that says San Diego, because the display as it sits, could be anywhere
Why not, just make sure you can switch the ships from side to side. The only thing the Independence does is switch sides on the pier every few months. Pass it everyday - she don't go nowhere
Those are not ordinary ropes, those cables are wide as heck. I would agree if it was a small boat, but I’m pretty sure a seagull could plop down on those cables.
110% underrated! From the details on the steel fabrications on the hull to the electronics to the interior designs... This is what I inspire to do as a hobbyist! On a side note I was just doing a tour of San Diego harbor in the summer, I can't tell the difference! This is amazing! Excellent work could be for commissions and official uses!
The seagulls were an especially nice touch. I have been building scale models since 1965 but nothing approaching this level of realism--I've done just enough to appreciate the results shown in this video. Better still, I served aboard a warship, USS Tripoli/LPH-10 for eight months--the level of detail going into the docks and two ships is impressive. Thank you for sharing your work.
This is probably the best navy modelling page on TH-cam and with every video I learn something new. Every work is a masterpiece, like the graf zeppelin that you just built, absolutely wonderful. I build model planes but with every video I'm more teased to build a ship and all this is because of your amazing skills. Keep it up, because your stuff is always better and better.
Simply superb from the modeling to the detailing and the weathering. The lighting and the diorama's presentation add all the more and put everything into context. I cringe every time I think of placing each of the tiny etched-metal parts but the end results pay off handsomely!
Nice detailing on that, There ought be some "rainbow" swirls inside the POL boom (which ought be on both sides). Mooring lines ought to have rat guards on them. But many bonus points for not showing red rust on aluminum ships.
Great video and assembly with all the fantastic details, I just built the 1/700 hobby boss USS Essex LHD ship and practically had to use a microscope. The trickiest part was attaching the photoetch guard rails around the perimeter of the ship. I want to build a water diorama with the Essex parked next to a 1/700 scale model of the Sea Shadow or a USS Zumwalt ship. I work with the 2 part clear epoxy resin all the time making bar tops and other furniture surfaces so it should be fairly easy with blue dye and I have gallons of epoxy.
I work on 32nd Street Naval Base in San Diego as a private contractor and it is crazy how accurate you are with the amount of detail you put into this diorama! Well done!
Love the model really makes me realize how much the NAVY means to you guys in the hobbyist community. I feel like I could step into the model on pier 5. Only thing I noticed was no rat guards on the ropes. Amazing work!
Wow! That is an absolutely amazing build! I was fortunate enough to see the USS Independence from the pier in Norfolk back in 2009 I believe, or it could have been 2010.
Dude applied some Bob Ross techniques here. Absolutely amazing. I'm 42 years old and still have my planes I built when I was a kid hanging in my office. I thought I was good with just brushes and rattle cans.
Great job. This makes me want to build another model or two. If i had to critique this, I would add a few pallets of supplies on the pier and the flight deck of both ships for a touch of more realism. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I am blown away. 1st question that comes to mind is how long did this take? I can not even count how many individual models there are here. The lighting effects took this to the stratosphere. Bravo!
Could you narrate some of the techniques you are using and colors being applied. I personally learn so much from all of that and apply it to my kits. Ive been testing my weathering and panel accents on submarines and ready to move onto larger boats, but am nowhere near this level. This is gorgeous
looks Great!!!! i would have loved to see the "roach coach" pierside as well as rubbish dumpsters, also the ensigns on the forecastle's should be the Jack
Another award winning diorama, I like both class of LCS classes, again great. Will you ever build a underway replenishment diorama? Take care, and all the best.
Superb! I'm usually not a fan of modern warship models, because they look so boring. But mooring two of them at a busy dock the way you did, well, mind...blown. This ranks up there with your Missouri and the F/A-18e Super Hornet on deck dioramas. Really excellent work!

Probably studied photos of the harbor and individual ships to get this level of detail.
very life like indeed!

The Seagulls!!! such a great touch. :) The lights really bring this to life. Fantastic work as usual.
Seagulls can't sit on a rope

Thank you for sharing your work.
You people are absolute artists. Would love to do a gallery of just models. Worth more then any modern art.
I have said that for years. An art gallery on model dioramas.
Exceptional work, both the ships and the harbor scene. Weathering, details, lighting, it all comes together. Thank you!

Such a beautiful work of art. It is so detailed I could look at it for hours
Every video is a masterpiece. Truly the best ship diorama modeler on TH-cam. Thank you for sharing
still an inspiration since the Missouri diorama. the thumbnail is very high in quality. Very nice.

Absolutely fantastic - Great details, it's the reflections of the lights that are magic to me plus the weathering
Simply superb from the modeling to the detailing and the weathering. The lighting and the diorama's presentation add all the more and put everything into context. I cringe every time I think of placing each of the tiny etched-metal parts but the end results pay off handsomely!
You have once again taken modelling to a whole new level. Truly stunning work.

The Art of building a hyperrealistic Modelscene !! Beautiful !! Hello from Germany !🇺🇲🇩🇪

your one of the best ship modelers ive seen, this looks excellent
Impeccable job bud. The way the lights reflect off the water, the amount of details and craftsmanship.. phenomenal work
beautiful build..awesome details..love it a lot. thanx for sharing this unique piece of work.
Impressive. This is the best those two ships have ever looked. Very impressive work.
Wow, most impressive modeling skills and patience. I couldn't even flow the water resin without bubbles.
Love the model really makes me realize how much the NAVY means to you guys in the hobbyist community. I feel like I could step into the model on pier 5. Only thing I noticed was no rat guards on the ropes. Amazing work!
The amount of tiny details that went into this is amazing.
Beautiful work. Just the ship models themselves are great but together with the lighting and diorama it's incredible.
Great job with the lights and people. Making a dock with resin water was genius idea 💡 indeed.
Astonishing! My favorite detail is the birds, really brings life. I hope to be able to make content on my ship building one day like you.
no idea how these are even possible I could never but they are so beautiful I love models and dioramas!

So many little details in this make it really outstanding.
U did a great job I love the light detail. And the water effects.
Brilliant work. So much time dedicated to this masterpiece. Love all the lighting. And as usual, superb water effects. Well done my friend 🙌🫡🤗
I Love it! Amazing job! & Makes me want to get a 3D Printer
Kick ass video man!, really great work and a beautiful job

One of your best dioramas yet, i showed my wife the picture at 20:30 and she thought it was a photo of the real ships, so well done 👍
Great the detail, love the seagulls and weathering.
One of the most talent man I ever seen. Its so amazing and so beautiful models. Great work sir❤❤

Absolutely fantastic and amazing! Next best to real stuff! I feel like reigniting my passion for model making!💐🌹🌼🌻🌺🌷
Absolutely stunning so lifelike!
Beautiful work as always. I'd love to see you do more harbor scenes.
That's incredible... Fantastic work.....🦅🇺🇸🦅
Holy moly. That is awesome! Well done!
Love the mangled inclusion of the shore power wires. Very well done
My home city and now I got to up my game when I build these boats. Great job.
Love the music choice, it gives the video such an interesting vibe
Thanks for filming this. Great to watch. Filming is more tedious than building IMO. Nice work
I think we've all just witnessed the next level in scale modelling, absolutely insane skills.
Absolutely stunning work
Fabulous work with superb details (nice touch with the seagulls), congrats!👍👍
I am blown away. 1st question that comes to mind is how long did this take? I can not even count how many individual models there are here. The lighting effects took this to the stratosphere. Bravo!
I sat there... like a 6 year old...stuned. Amazing Work!
정말 감탄 밖에 안나오네요 밀리터리 프라모델하는 사람인 저도 감탄이 절로 나옴니다 정말 존경합니다
Очень крутая работа! Чайки- огонь! Снимаю шляпу.

Excellent work, I have tried a bit of scratch build myself but nothing as detailed or complex. 10/10 cheers.
Cara, você é fera! Ficou muito bom! Parabéns!!!
Look so real, amazing details
Wow!!! a stunning build Sir 💞
Mind blowing good & Amazing attention to detail 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
All your works are wonderful.
Amazing detail - what a pleasure to see.
looks Great!!!! i would have loved to see the "roach coach" pierside as well as rubbish dumpsters, also the ensigns on the forecastle's should be the Jack
Love the internal lights and detail. Looking forward to the next one.
Type 45 Destroyer next in Western Approaches or Dazzle scheme?
This took me back to pier 6. Well done 👍
Absolutly a awsome build.
Man, you do the best sea dioramas on youtube, plus you're almost a 100k subscribers, keep up the good work !!!!!!!
Fine art to be sure. Thank you sir! Go Navy!!
Nice work, great detail for 1/350 scale. I haven't seen an LCS in real life, they didn't exist when I was home ported in San Diego.
Another award winning diorama, I like both class of LCS classes, again great.
Will you ever build a underway replenishment diorama?
Take care, and all the best.
Hello friend, I really like your perfect work, attention to detail, I subscribed quickly, I congratulate you, good work.
Some how missed this video, but wow it is incredible work!

This is one great way to start my morning thank you!!!!!!
Excellent as always, Maestro!
I love this. I been to naval base SD many times as I’m a local this is amazing ❤😮

Great work of art. Love the detail. What music is that?
Amazing work as always, Sir!
Wow is to amazing! 0:13
You assembled those models way better than the trash the shipyards delivered.
BRAVO ZULU
Amazing work. All you need is the rodent shields on the mooring lines.
Impresed! Perhaps add ship name on the brow and quarterdeck using pop up tent.
Like this, good job even got the grinder birds around there
like watching a micro-surgeon at work ! just wonderful model building , right down to the seagulls ! ( Thers always seaguls right ??)
