Thank you for the video! I watched it right away without delay. I could listen to George talk all night. If possible, please feature George in your videos from time to time. I’m not sure if George reads the comments, but if he does, please let him know that we genuinely love and want to listen to him. If he’s available, it would be great to see him appear in the videos every now and then. Also, I’d like to thank the young friend who runs the channel. The videos are great! We’d love to hear more detailed stories about Cus D’Amato. Specifically, I remember when Mike mentioned that after Cus passed away, he found many books on psychology while cleaning his room. If you know of similar books that could help us with self-improvement, any recommendations would be amazing!
Great interview. You need to let him know you can now return to amateurs after being a pro. That’s an iba rule and USA boxing is no longer with iba. Get this man back in the ring!
Carter could you elaborate on the actual training routine of a prime Mike Tyson how did he train aside from drills and boxing and training any weights ? Or just calisthenics pushups sit-ups squats any pull ups ?
A great interview which definitely deserves at least a 10/10. Georg is a living legend who has experienced a lot from that time and who can definitely tell a lot about that time. It was a great honor to have met Georg and you too Carter. Thank you for the great video!👍🫵
1:26:36 Thanks for this video Carter and george, very much appreciated👍👍 and thanks for telling the story about Fei Faiva and Geroge as her trainer very nice insights and journey 👏👍
Amazing video but I have a question When it comes to the stance I know there’s an official tutorial but I wonder when it comes to the front foot are we supposed to be on the ball of our feet or flat footed compared to the back
I watch your content at Cus’s gym since i started boxing for like 4 months and a half now and i love your content about teaching the roots of the peekaboo style or cus style alot! And i tried to learn the more i could by myself and applied it to my training and sparring sessions, unfortunately there’s no coaches that teach this style in quebec (canada) and i really want to go train at cus’s gym for like a month or two to train as hard as possible and learn the more i can to get better with this style. I wanted to know if was a good idea in your perspective and your experience. Let me know what you think and wish you the best man continue your content your killing it🤝
Appreciate that! If you want to come down I’d schedule out a week to do it to see if you like it before making any longer commitments. Gym is usually open Monday-Fridays, 5:30-7:30. Currently I’m not doing one on one, just working with my new fighters. But I’ll be doing one on one in the future.
@@DaDominicanDawg I train anyone that walks in the doors who’s serious, but I do have limited time to train during the week at the moment, so that also has to be taken into consideration 🥊

Carter you should stick to training like cus and teddy, the way cus wanted it taught and focus on mental part aswell as that. No hate to George but he keeps saying he switches the style but clearly it hasn’t produced any top fighter, unlike cus and teddy who made champions. Did you see Tyson’s video when he went back to the gym it was recently uploaded on his channel, there’s a part where George is fighting and Tyson says ‘George still doesn’t move his head man’. It seems like he also doesn’t emphasise and really teach/care about the mental side aswell (which is the most important), he seems a bit stuck in the past. From what I see carter I feel like your the teddy of that gym at the moment, to the best of your ability - obviously you never knew cus but you seem to get as much info about his methods which is really good. You know you have to basically try stuff like he did and see what works, you’ve read Tyson’s book and seen what cus based stuff on. It’s the trainer that makes the fighter. Man it feels crazy watching these videos from that gym, it’s surreal seeing the gym and all these videos coming from there where I want to train. It’s crazy man I read every book I can, see every interview I can to try and get info. I’ve drawn the numbers on my wall and train listening to the audio whenever I have time when I’m not in college, damn it takes up so much of my day college. I wish I could just train all day. it’s so upsetting though, there is no good gyms where I am, the trainers are just there for the bullshit of it, no passion for boxing. When i come America im going to come and train there. Keep it up man 💪 your a great trainer, keep the vids coming. ps. you never asked if they aswell as Tyson actually used to do 500 push-ups aswell as sit ups. Did cus really not use weights for his fighters. I’m trying to get a body like Tyson to be more intimidating, I know it doesn’t mean strong but looking big n strong would help in fights. I just wonder maybe cus said weights would hinder speed or fighting ability that’s why he didn’t use them or something like that maybe? so I want to replicate exactly what he made his fighters do
Mike was a Muscular 190lbs at 13 years old. As said by teddy atlas, Mike didn't need to lift he was naturally big. My advice to you is to lift moderate weights 3x a week and eat plenty. As far as speed goes, look at bruce lee he lifted weights didn't slow him down.
@themcnugget7624 go check the facts. If you want to hear it from his own mouth, he states he only did strength conditioning after jail when it became popular. In his first fight against bruno in an interview where bruno is seen lifting weights. Mike says he doesn't do that kind of training, only callisthenics floor work.
@@themcnugget7624 He only did Barbell shrugs for his Traps with High reps.. Everything else was bodyweight exercises. Cus wouldn't let Mike touch weights because that would make him stiff and lose speed in his snap.. Cus wanted Mike to be as fast as lightning! the weight training started after prison.
