Going to the farm tomorrow to get fresh fresh fresh milk. Thanks for the recipe! Will make it this week with suya and keep some for stew this weekend! Thanks again
Hello Lami, how do you mean with one cup vinegar? Is 100 ml or more ? Thanks for this video because I love wagashi but I don't have any clue of how it's been prepared. ❤
You can use both. It is best to add them in little bits so as not to overdo it But I think the vinegar is more potent than the lemon and gives a quicker result
Hi Lami, thanks for this amazing recipe. Could you show us some other recipe we could use the water from the cuddled milk for? Or do you discard afterwards? Thanks☺️
I find that very hard to believe. Pasteurising is raising the temperatire of milk and then quickly cooling it to just above freezing. Gets rid of the buggs. Millions of native in 3rd world countries all over the world use similar proceesing methods to create cream cheese, then modify it to sell as mature cheese, a bit like icecream for them. Been around a long time????
You can dry it as well, but it's a long process with that. So the quick and easy way is to fry it. The fried one can be eaten as it is, whiles the dried one is usually used in soups and sources.
Wagashi is usually made out of fresh milk straight from the cow and since the process involves boiling (pasteurization) fresh full fat milk is the best however, if you don't have that, you can used the pasteurized milk
@@Lamicooks I am a Zongo boy and your channel is giving me the hope to cook these meals I used to enjoy. I am not getting the full fat/whole milk where I live. I will try it with the pasteurized milk and see the result. Thanks very much.
I usually just wrap and freeze it for about 8hours flight if I want it fresh however, in the villages they dry it after steaming for days until there is no more moisture but this changes the taste to another different level. I love it.😋😋😋

This is wara na, Fulani women always carry out with nunu and fura.
Please the lemon juice and the white vinegar which is best in forming the cheese?
You can use both. It is best to add them in little bits so as not to overdo it
But I think the vinegar is more potent than the lemon and gives a quicker result
I just find your channel and love it.
Thank you Rhoda, you are welcome ❤
Can you do a recipe on how to make fried Soya. I used to live in the northern region and would it eat it all the time
Wow this came out perfect! I like my wagashi a little sour, how can I achieve that pls?
Thank you dear, yes you can achieve that, just keep it overnight before you fry it. 🥰
Thank you so much Lami!
U can use lemon juice
Good evening, ma'am. Please, my wagashi is always melting in the oil. What should I do, please if there's any advice. Thanks
You probably need to weigh it down a bit longer
And allow to cool completely
Hi sis I have just subscribed as promise on Facebook with Saud. I'm waiting to see your salla rice vlog

Is there any kind of milk substitutes that can be used for those of us who can't drink milk? 😩🥺

Sure. Welcome 😉
Wow....this looks good 👍
Thank you dear 🥰
Please any white vinegar or only distilled vinegar should be used???
Wauw delicious
Thank you Edith😊
Hey! You mentioned we can use lemon juice as well. But I want to know which you recommend? The lemon or the vinegar?
I recommend vinegar
Hi Lami, thanks for this amazing recipe. Could you show us some other recipe we could use the water from the cuddled milk for? Or do you discard afterwards? Thanks☺️
Wow I love wagashi very much
I love it too 🥰🥰🥰
What temperature do I heat the oil to? Last time I did this, I heated the oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The cheese fell apart :(.
About 250 , and maybe your cheese was not firm enough, make sure you drain the water properly before frying
Can I use fresh milk stell in supermarket or the one they took from the cow directly
Either of them can work ok. I used the regular one from the supermarket
@@Lamicooks which supermarket please. I don't see it in the mall.
Just go to your regular milk section and get full milk
@@larabachamelion thanks its just that when I used the full cream it didn't work. Lol
Well... you may want to walk us through your process
Wow I love it😜😋😋😋😋 so delicious💯🇬🇭🇬🇭
Nice job sis
Thank you dear
Nice video. I will do my too.
I'll try this
Thanks
That's awesome 🌺
Welcome dear😍
Fulani in Ghana? Wow. I thought only Nigeria 🇳🇬 had them. And your foods are identical to Nigerian foods, only different names.
True, most Ghanaian food is similar to that of Nigeria, the names are different.
NazzQueenBee Togo and Benin as well 😊 hi sisters 🥰
@@Beyonce2410 hi sis
If you’re abroad like in Europe, make sure your milk is not pasteurised or it won’t curdle
I used pasteurized milk and it did curdle. I think as long as it's not too pasteurized it should be fine..
Make sure it’s whole milk
This is helpful
@@portiasetsoafia7347 Yes. You can use the fresh full cream milk from Nana milk. Gives a great result
Please what size of cup do you use for the measurement of the vinegar. Thanks
The standard measuring cup
Can you use the pasteurized whole milk. Thanks
Yes please, you can use it.
Aside frying it, what can you use it for please? Thanks

Please do u use low fat milk or what tnx
Pls can u add the salt in the milk when boiling it the first time
Please can you also use skimmed milk or only full cream milk
Skimmed milk doesn't have fat, the milk fat and solid is what makes the wagashi which skimmed milk cannot give you. So full fat milk is the best.
I have never heard of this but will try it
Can I use any milk like this Even milk in making a wagashi please
What type of milk can i use in Nigeria? I love wagashi
Fresh cow milk
Yummy
Very detailed video
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Yummy i nearly bite my phone lol😁
What quantity of lemon juice can be used please?
Can I also use this for pizza?
Place am new here, pls the quantity of the lemon juice to be used? Tnx
I cup of lemon juice please
Tnx dear
why is a full fat milk preferred over pasteurized milk?
Wagashi is usually made out of fresh milk straight from the cow and since the process involves boiling (pasteurization) fresh full fat milk is the best however, if you don't have that, you can used the pasteurized milk

Is it the same as tofu for vegetarians?
Similar, but this is cow's milk so if you are vegetarian and you drink milk, you can have it.
Can soymilk be use instead
@@olatokunbohashiru7836 lol probably not
@@olatokunbohashiru7836 probably not but you can try and let me know how it turns out
Please can use milk powder for that or it’s only fresh milk
Only fresh milk please. But you can give it a try to see.
So please what's the difference between cheese and wagashie
It depends of which cheese you are talking about. But I believe is the texture, which makes it easy for you to deep fry the wagashi without melting.
@@Lamicooks Talking of mozzarella cheese.
Please how do you store wagashi when it is not fried?
Where can I get the whole milk
Pls can i make mozzarella cheese with nono
So wagashie is basically fried cheese?
Yes, its cheese 😃
@@Lamicooks thanks
Do you keep the heat on while the vinegar is in?
No please, I switch it off.
Got it. Thank you
Can I use milk powder?
no
Can I use this in making pizza please?
yes we do it all the time just crumble it up
Is it the same as mozzarella cheese??? Jux asking ,coz it seems this is the same procedure used in making mozzarella cheese
It is not the same as mozzarella but its a similar method.
I really want to know how to preserve it fresh and transport it long distance

Can I make burger with this wagashi?
Yes you can why not
Lovely the is awesome 👏
Thank you👍🏽
👏🏽👏🏽😍

Hi Lami, nice video, I’m your new friend and I hope we support each other.
Is wagashi not mozzarella?
I have a lot of low fat milk in the fridge can I use that too?
You can, but may not get the richness as the fat content is less.
Please can it be frozen?
Not the fried one, the fresh one
I guess this is not the same as Tofu?
I made some, but mine melted frying them
Did you drain it well ? If you didn't, that may be the cause as there may still be a lot of water in it.
Lami cooks I did and even left it for overnight.
جيد
When i fry my own it melts can you please explain why thanx
Maybe you did not drain the water well. Pls make sure you drain the water really well
Lami cooks thank you 🙏🏽
Which vinegar should I take? 25%, 10%, 5%? 😅✌🏽
5% please
can you use it for pizza🙈 please don't laugh 😀
Just because you said not to laugh, let me laugh first 🤣🤣🤣, you can but it will feel like feta cheese, not like mozzarella cheese
