The SHXC is the latest flagship model of the Scream Honey family in 2023, carrying the finest level of the family so far, It is the culmination of a decade of research. The creation process of SHXC mainly contains two steps.
First, we made the tone to get 99% similarity with the original Centaur, and then, improving and perfecting the tone to a new level based on this. The SHXC is the first product in our Scream Honey Renassians Overdrive Project (R.O.P.). The purpose of the R.O.P. is to redesign the two most popular overdrive pedals in history and make improvements to make them even better than the original one.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

Nice! I still prefer the Tumnus Deluxe though because it has a 3 band EQ, a hard/soft clipping toggle, and a buffer/true bypass toggle, which makes it more versatile. It’s a Klon pedal, but w/ the EQ and a wide gain sweep, you can get it to sound like a TS, ODR1, Blues Breaker, OCD, treble boost, warm boost, mid boost, etc all in one. And it has a low noise floor and lots of clarity. Other than the insane Automotone, it’s the most versatile drive pedal I’ve ever used. But I love having variety, so this is a very cool pedal as well. Thanks for sharing.

I just received an Origin Effects Halcyon Gold (Klon). With the new SHXC and Halcyon Gold pedals, it seems the classic Klon is evolving.
how would you compare the two?
@@Banoffeeee Unfortunately I don't have access to a SXHC for comparisons. The broad range of tones offered via the OE Halcyon Gold is hard to beat imo. Seriously doubt anyone could go wrong buying either the Halcyon Gold or SHXC. Fwiw, I do strongly prefer the UI of the Halcyon Gold.

Yeah as someone else mentioned, that website throws up red flags. It's not secure, it's not mobile, lots of grammar issues and it's strange to do business without online forms in 2023. Just sayin'... Sounds great and excellent demo as always...

Great pedal and demo Paul!. Personally, I prefer my Revv G2 paired with the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe as a boost as it has a full EQ so I can tame that "Klon" midrange and get back as much bass as I need. The G2 is the best mid gain overdrive I ever played. Also a full EQ and nice gain range with the Dynamics 3 way toggle (like the Revv Generator Green channel it's based on).. Pushed by the Tumnus it has a Marshall Plexi type of bark that I really love. But this pedal here really does sound great!

High end seems exaggerated. Almost like a tube screamer. I would still be adjusting the top end down a bit as drive goes up.

Very good sounding pedal. Too bad it doesn't have any way to save and recall Presets. That was one of these that forced me into using Modelers instead.
Is that piece of metal on the face serving any purpose? I imagine it isn’t which would be incredibly irritating.
