Crazy that princess Diana was at his funeral and a little over a month later was her own funeral. Life is crazy.

LIFE IS PERFECT. PEOPLE ARE CRAZY.
Elton John lost his only two friends😭
And I got to meet Lady Diana when she visited Sarajevo during the siege.
@@Saavik256 oh wow what a memory for you!
Every time I get the 48 hours binge watch zoomies I end up glad my life is boring and comfortable, thank God. I love my mundane little life. ❤
Me too x
Haha same here! Mundane and SAFE 🙏🏾
"my life is boring and comfortable" useless then, like billion others.
Only a few stand out, either negatively or positively.
Me too . Loving the dull poor life
Michael Williams (the first victim's best friend) seems like a very kind and warm person. I feel sorry that he's still in pain after all these years.
I found it weird that she was smiling while telling the story though.
@@scarletbelmont9022 You're thinking of the wrong person, the comment references one of the main story tellers and says 'he'. But I know who you're talking about and it was odd but some people are just a bit eccentric; I don't think it's an actual reflection of her moral character.
“a 6 going down to a 4”! damn Nicole is brutal 🤣
😂😂😂😂
Right, that was cold 😂😂
We need her on Untucked stat!
What does it mean, clothing size 6 going to size 4?
Yeah. I also felt this is so superficial and judgemental. Who can stay sane in such a mental environment...
For me, it is sad that this is the first time I'm hearing of these other men who were murdered. I thought that Versace's death was a stand-alone until this video. I doubt I'm the only one. How did the families and friends of these men, who were not "icons", feel about having Versace's death completely eclipse the loss and pain that THEY felt? Their lives meant just as much as a fashion designer's. 😞
After reading about Cunanan's life, the victim who stuck with me and who I think about the most is David Madson followed by Jeffrey Trail. Versace knew nothing and died instantly but the terror experienced by David who (after having seen Jeffrey's body) was kidnapped for a couple of days while he tried to talk himself out of it was far worse. It makes me so sad whenever I think about him and how warmly his friends and colleagues spoke of him. Same for Jeffrey who was trying to escape from Cunanan and seemed like a very decent man. Until I saw this video I had almost forgotten that it ended with Versace.
Even a bird was murdered smh
At the time of the incident there was very wide spread media it was a spree killing I’m sure over time only mentioning Versace is why those hadn’t heard of it is why they didn’t realize many victims were involved
I don’t think their deaths were eclipsed, if anything their deaths were brought heavily to the light because of versace. And most importantly because it was a shooting spree.
Naa . I saw at another channel a documentary about the killer all the victims! This documentary is about Versaci not his killer ! Don’t get it wrong
Versace worked hard to be somebody, and then he was killed because he was somebody. Tragic.
And killed because his killer was a nobody.
I was 10 when this happened and can remember that we were all glued to the news for updates on the case. Tragically, Princess Di was killed a few months later 😢 The 90s had some big true crime stories; OJ, the Menendez bros, Gianni V., Princess Di etc.😢😢😢
Oh rubbish! Every decade has it’s spree killings.
I was in Miami. I heard the helicopters looking for the suspect. It was crazy.
@violetaivanova6333 Okay: I wasn’t in Las Vegas and/ or LA. I didn’t hear anything about helicopters searching. It is what it is.
Selena 😢
Omgoodness I was 10 too 😅-but yeah! You’re right,- like? Even that young, we were ALL GLUED TO TV
I hate the fact that Andrew committed suicide and left so many unanswered questions.
I think that it was the case of a jilted lover
so sad that versace had no sg? to protect him
Sadly, it's typical behavior from a total coward. He knows he wouldn't make it out live in jail....
i dont believe he did it, something dont fit
\
@user-vj6pw9my8xso he just snapped and killed all across the country bc of it?
I feel so bad for all 5 men who were murdered 😢 I don't care if you famous or just a caretaker, it's a tragedy. RIP

I love these episodes.
Same, I LOVE true crimes😍
Thank you 48 Hrs
I don’t know where I was but I didn’t even know Versace had been killed let alone the large task force to find the killer.
Poor men may they rest in peace.
Same here
Me either
Same. I didn't even know Versaci was a man.
He shot Versace because he was an important person whose death would always be associated with him. This way he would get the attention of the whole world forever. The killer of John Lennon may have had the same motif.
Maybe AC admired Versace, and wasn't noticed by him or he was or felt rejected by him. And at that point AC knew there was no way out and so he wanted to have a grand exit. Narcissists need the feeling of importance and he would confirm his grandiosity to himself before killing himself and escaping the grasp and control of others/the state.
Great insights.
@@Verawnique 💖
Could it not be possible that Versace was one of his sugar daddies
I think John lennon killer was different, he was an obsessed fan who was upset about how much of an hypocrite his idol was, talking about peace and equality with that song "Imagine" in the safety of his 5 stars hotel and riding expensive limousines.
Richard Schlesinger, the best host of 48 Hours.
As awful as this crime is I cant help but to also feel sad about the poor bird that was killed by the stray fragments. 😢
I feel you, that was my thought as well. RIP to that pigeon, collateral damage!
@@letspartyallthetimeI hope pigeon wasn’t gay
Especially because birds are better than humans. This was proved by extremely intelligent individuals in history. Leonardo Da Vinci bought caged birds on the market with the only intention to set them free and Nikola Tesla spent thounsands of dollars healing injured pigeons.

This case was nuts, Andrew was a piece of work, read his biography..he was, just cold and calculated!!
True..

Throw in hateful and jealous and there you have it. He even hated himself.
Calculating for sure!

I love how that pudgy little guy is talking about how Andrew went from a 6 to a 4, when he's sitting there looking like a 2! 🤣
He's mad that all his plastic surgery made him look even worse.
When your rich af..... the 2 becomes a 100! that's why he can talk like that.
This needs to be an hbo doc, this case is so complicated and so so many unanswered questions!
22:53 Julie smiling while giving the interview is so strange, she is not talking about a good memory... 😳
I also found her smiling strange.
Eerie
And vocal fry, to boot.🤣
She’s definitely kind of creepy, in my opinion.
I was thinking the same thing
A fascinating topic. Glad to see this show is available.
I’ve read and watched a lot about this case years prior but I’m glad they focused on just the important points, and shone spotlight on the first 4 victims.
The innocent dead bird.
Symbolic, ain't it?
“Were you calm?” “No you idiot! My friend was shot and I was chasing his killer!”……PRICELESS!!!!
It did seem idiotic. You either chase and overpower the killer, or you dont go after him. Whats the point of WALKING behind the killer.
40:00 Losing someone who you love more than the air you breathe, someone who you would literally, physically step in front of a bullet for, do anything for them to have nothing but happiness including die for...the loss of them never leaves you and never gets easier when you think about them!😢
I live 15 minutes away from where Mr Reese was killed. I know that park very well , and you have to have the intention to go find that place. It is not easily accessible except for locals who know. It was so so scary that the murderer was creeping around out here in our rural little town. The cemetery there is beautiful and very historic.
RIP Mr Reese. 💐💔
Andrew Cunanan's mother lived in the small town that I grew up in - in low-income housing - and he went to visit her shortly before he murdered Versace.

It's nice & i am glad to know that he is man enough to have sent that meassage that truly means a lot. For him to just say, i'm sorry is powerful. It is healing by itself. What a way to end the story that makes it remarkable.
I remember the day the news broke in Italy, it was like a big storm that summer afternoon. All TV programs interrupted, all journalists ran in Rome where Trinità dei Monti fashion shows took place few hours later. Cancelled, supermodels crying in disbelief. The interview of Naomi in tears was everywhere. Then the Funeral in Duomo in Milano, with all the stars, fashion designers, supermodels and thousands of fans. Lady Diana supporting Elton John, sad to know that a month later she would lose her life in Paris. Horrible 97 summer ! RIP Gianni.
Btw some reporters live in Miami said that the dead bird was left there by the killer. A mafia signature posed close to a killed victim. Speculations about links between the Versace family and the Calabrian mafia, for money laundering. Only reporters suppositions.
*lose. One O.
I remember when this was going on. So scary because you didn't know where he might pop up!
I lived in Miami at the time of these events. Crazy time!
Versace’s Miami residence is my dream home! RIP Gianni…❤❤
It was a gorgeous home. I believe converted from a luxury hotel?
I think it's a restaurant now called Giovannis on Miami Beach
What a shallow world of silly, envious men using and abusing each other. The way they talk about each other shows there is not even any real friendship here. How can anyone be surprised when it ends in violence?
My thoughts exactly
This.
Yes - very well stated.
Most of the men in that community are like that. Why you are surprised is beyond me.
The only one that was shallow and abusive was the killer Andrew. The rest seemed like good guys.
That killing spree started about three blocks away from where I’m sitting typing this. (North Loop of Minneapolis) 💔
I lived in Miami at the time. Those days were wild; not knowing where Cunaanen would pop up during the manhant.
This has been covered so many times it’s now in the Earth’s mantle
Hello from the future! It’s called a sugar daddy
This story is so sad from every single angle. 😢
Wow, has it been 27 years already?!
I remember this case so well because I lived in Chicago, where Lee Miglin was a prominent Gold Coast resident.
Um, 27 years this year...

So sorry for all those victims 😢💔
32:39 this is why when you sign a document, you need to know how to write your name in cursive and actually sign the document with your name and not just a scribble! Its unbelievable that elementary schools aren't teaching kids to write in cursive anymore!
That is such a sad story - those poor 5 men (and the only one I had remembered was Versace). I don't know how we stop this as mothers - it sounds like the killer because he was at a very exclusive school and was very very bright and then the father was fraudulent and ran off the boy lost a father, lost his better off life because of his father's criminality, lost his stability (even then that does not make most people killers). He was bright enough to have a good career and not live off an older man.
According to the documentary I watched before, Andrew Cunanan's parents did everything to make his life better and make sure he could study in a good school. I think that instead of valuing it, Cunanan felt envy every time he saw something he didn't have. Cunanan grew up with envy & evil heart.
It sad that someone with Filipino blood can do this crime.
I just hope that Cunanan was captured alive and suffer a lifetime punishment in jail.
RIP to all the victims, my heart is broken specially to victim number 4 Mr. William Reese.
Mr. Versace died to stop this killing madness. He (Versace) will always be an icon.
Cunanan committed suicide and was never brought to justice!
And then he watched his father commit fraud and leave the country to evade justice. Not the best role model I would say.
Don't forget the innocent bird who also died.

EL SHADDAI
Such a waste, all those victims. There was no reason, only a evil and sick mind.
@user-vj6pw9my8x wake up. the reason is hes a classic Narcissist.
VANITY: You probably just wanted to be known as a person. That took down Versace. Then you decide your mind would take down everybody else too. Because he KNEW he was going down. OR, It could be that he Met and tried to flirt with him. Bursa she didn't go for it so he felt rejected and decided to take action.
that bird thing is weird
No it's spiritual.
The woman smiling and almost laughing through the interview is very disturbing. Your friend dies and in recollecting it you're smiling and almost laughing? That's strange.
Exactly! Very disturbing and uncomfortable
Some people smile when they feel nervous. It's not a conscious decision, their body reacts this way. It's hard to control.
She was completely annoying. I skipped past her because I couldn't tolerate her grinning.
And the vocal fry to boot.

Aside the horrible murders and lives lost, which is very sad. I have to comment: Versace was a genious. His creations work of art.
He was an overrated seamstress
Don't know about his work but man you should see his house! Absolutely breathtaking. Everything over the top. The are the weirdest you ll ever see. Just duck a piece of History where princess Diana, Madonna and more stayed.

“Versace put Miami in the international spotlight” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Miami has been Miami long before Versace
Before Versace Miami was known for the Mariel boatlift, the cocaine wars and the most corrupt police department in the country even before that title went to New Orleans. There were international travel warnings about traveling to Miami so if that's what you mean by spotlight then yeah. However Versace began to change that image.
Not really

Julie made me uncomfortable, she seems to laugh while talking about the murders, geezzz
I worked in Hillcrest for many years. I came across quite a few people who knew Andrew Cunanan
Same. My friend knew one of the victims.
Small gay neighborhood/community. I’m sure most who lived there knew him or the victims or knew someone who did.
@ca8944 Well, 30 blocks is kind of big for a neighborhood, but I think I know what you mean. You do tend to come across some of the same people, especially if you're plugged into the nightlife scene. When you're a bouncer, everyone vents to you because they know you can't go anywhere.
Im surprised the high profile cases have less views than many of the lesser known ones. Maybe cause theres more docus about those cases to choose from.
The police could have caught him if they went to the pawn shop to get that form he filled in with his address in.
That part still upsets me, Versace wouldn't have been a victim 😢
Narcissists hurt people.
Lets see a man who was spoiled by his wealthy lovers and they stopped supporting him due to he isnt that young and good-looking anymore, He struggled and hated all of his said lovers.
and it seems they only take it very very seriously after Versace was shot.
" he isnt that young and good-looking anymore" 😂 He was 27!
youre not around gay people much are you? and especially very rich ones those gay people could be really be particular.
and tbh most people like young partners.
you can say he was compared and discarded.

@@derekw1267 there's definitely more Narscissts than statistics claim. Most people are only interested in themselves, their needs, time and space and have no regard or ability to consider anyone else. Most relationships are purely transactional.

Only in a video like this, would witnesses be judging people on looks and what they wore as an indication of value to society. Gross.
What a scary time that was. I was living in southern Florida at the time of Gianni Versace’s death.
The manhunt was scary. Our yard was on the intercostal waterway on a culdusac with only two homes on the culdusac. Our yard & our neighbors yard had mature foliage in and each yard was almost an acre big. I had to run across our courtyard to our guest cottage where my ex’s elderly dad lived. I had to check in on him 2 to 3 times a night. I remember feeling very scared doing these night checks; wondering if Andrew might have been hiding on our, or our neighbors property. It was such a relief when they found Andrew . What a horrible time that was for all of Southern Florida.
They use the term attractive too much for these folks. He was merely decent.
