    personaly i think the titan is the best starter ship. you get 2 s3 wing hard points, and an s4 on the nose. it also has 8 scu of cargo and a hab. sure it costs more then the cutter but i think it offers much more value as an all rounder.

    • @Duffer529
      @Duffer529  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes I would definitely recommend this one to any one with that price range or as in game currency as a starter.

    Titan, Nomad, Cutter. Pick any and you're doing good for a starter. Move into a cutlass black or C1 if you're looking for a step up. Then above that grade go Corsair or Taurus. Top all rounders in those 3 tiers.

    Worth noting that the Mustang Alpha had the cargo bay added in 3.17.2 so you can use it for deliveries and basic cargo-hauling; the only thing it lacks compared to the other starter ships is a pressurised interior.

    • @Duffer529
      @Duffer529  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmm I didn't realise it had some cargo space

    • @andrewarmstrong5338

      @@Duffer529 Yeah, it wasn't accessible for a long time, that change took it from absolutely the worst starter to a decent, cheap option. There's a button at the back of the ship to drop the cargo pod down, and you can open it up and crawl inside.

    • @Duffer529
      @Duffer529  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It sounds like it might be a decent starter ship now then.
      I wish I realised that, I would have included it then. Oh well, thanks for the information 👍

    Honestly, would have sugested an Aurora LN over the C8X as a combat upgrade from the Aurora MR. Only benefit of the C8X worth considering is the (currently broken) jump seats for up to 2 passengers (which is one passenger more than is supported by the Aurora thanks to its bed).

  • @thalesnesio9583
    @thalesnesio9583 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    C8X for sure!!! One of the few ships you are able to put inside other ships such as the carrack and galaxy. Great with fuel, and if you are willing to spend $5 more you can get a version of the pieces with a med bed which is perfect for bunkers.

    • @Duffer529
      @Duffer529  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very good choice! I do love the medical variant when using it with the carrack as a 'scouting' ship. Much fun to be had with that.

      @@Duffer529 I like a lot of ships but I struggle with the fact that I have basically the best ships for every activity I enjoy, in my fleet. Why would I bring a Nomad if I could carry more cargo and drop bombs if needed, with the A1 or A2? They’re too slow, need to go faster? Then I’ll bring a MSR. I would simply never fly it unless there are activities that make it the better option. Small jump points maybe? 🤔

    • @Duffer529
      @Duffer529  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand what you are saying and yeah If you had better ships for a specific task that does make sense to use that one.
      I guess the only reason would be the price restrictions and getting the most value for money on the budget you have, Whether in game or irl. For your situation it's a hard one though.
      I think the Nomad definitely fills a great role for that price range, Even if not the most efficient at one task required.

    Great video! I know that the drake cutter is the best value ship, but personally, I feel that the nomad is a great ship too, due to its interior amenities and looks, as well as its ability to do cargo runs and a tractor beam, which I think for a starter player, helps players to help familiarise themselves to the mechanics of the game.
    Although I have enough money to buy only the aurora game package though lol.

    • @Duffer529
      @Duffer529  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks!!
      The Nomad is also the choice I would go for if I didn't consider money as I absolutely love that ship but thought it may have been a bit much for some new player who doesn't even know if they can run the game yet lol. It's the one I started on in the game and definitely helped me out with all the game loops.
      At least in game it's not too much to buy that's a bonus for how good it is.

    The C8 Pisces only has 2 guns. The expedition variant has 4 guns. Even though two of them are not gimballed, you can install gimbals on them so all four becomes gimballed. For combat I'd say the Aurora is probably better than the Pisces. You can install 2 more guns one the Aurora so it also has 4 guns. Less maneuverable (actually higher max roll/pitch/yaw but less actual G's on maneuvers) sure, but 2x size 1 shields vs 1 size 1 shield. Comes down to personal preference I guess.

  • @Sentan555
    @Sentan555 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    also love the 300i, however i wish you could walk up ramp like the 100i does. also side note the syulen is extremely maneuverable and gimbles can be added, but they arent needed because the ship has 24 thrusters making it the most maneuverable ship in game....

    • @Duffer529
      @Duffer529  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmm yeah it would be a steep ramp but it would feel like more luxury, They could have it come down in an spiral if they wanted too lol.
      Yeah Syulen is very good, I do occasionally have troubles with it but it's overall very good.
      Thanks for watching

      @@Duffer529 it's my only complaint about the ship. It's so much better then the 100i and for the small price I'd easily tell them to upgrade to 300i

      I started with the Aurora, which was great for the start. I upgradet to the Cutter but was disapointed by the low speed, shields and weapons compared to the Aurora. So I upgradet to the Titan.
      Meanwhile I bought the Syulen because of the lifetime ensurence. I enjoyed this ship but it is quite useless so I upgradet it to to C1, which is great.
      For a Starter I would recomend the aurora or the cutter. Both are great to find your way into the game.
      Later you can upgrade to whatever fits your style.

      yes definitely, don't need a big or shiny ship to start in star citizen, could even do a free fly event then decide.

    My guy. You need to check your prices. These starter packs dont cost nearly as much as you're quoting. Aurora is $45. C8X/Cutter is $60. 100i is $65. Titan is $75. Nomad is $95. Syulen is 85.

      The tax for the ships is 20% for me in the UK.

      So still valid for UK
