Roly Poly in the Copacabana is my favorite version. Jiyeon chewing gum and blowing bubbles is not to be missed. It's like T-ara saying we can wear sweatsuits and the ugliest school uniforms ever worn and we'll still kick ass big time.
No joke! Roly Roly was a whole cultural reset.
If there was no 🐍 in the group, T-ara could be the biggest group after SNSD at that time. 😷

Don't forget that the CEO put so much pressure on the members that year by announcing that they would transition to a 9-member group PLUS any members "not putting in effort" would be removed from the group, including original members! He made such a competitive environment for the members (after overworking them for 3 years) and that did NOT help things either. :/
Not to mention the CEO never revealed the truth for 5 years...and even then it was because an ex-staff member did it. If the CEO had just revealed the truth straight away, T-ara's image could have been saved. T_T
Their agency was really the worst at that time, like they didn't do anything to speak the truth. The only one who revealed the truth was their ex manager after their image already ruined. I hope the rest members to be successful. 🙏🏼
Jiyeon and Eunjung have been acting very recently, Boram did some acting a while ago too, while Hyomin and Soyeon are preparing for their comebacks :) Please support them and Qri as well!

This is literally my favourite K-pop song of all time, and let me just say, they don't film drama MVs like they used to. T-ara members are the real QUEENS of drama MVs!

my favorite girl groups are T-ara and SNDS, it hurts that T-ara has disbanded, but even so their songs are legendary

ikr 😢 I could recognize many groups as well as their songs and all of the songs were ear cathing and memorable back then. Now, there's a lot of great groups too, but it's hard to find 'that song', i mean, it's not that the songs are bad, just.... maybe it's just about personal taste, i dunno. even till now, most of my playlist is still dominated by old songs, but I still have many fav songs from new gens (3rd gens), at least till around 2017, so many hits in general. But nowadays, rarely find my songs this 2 years (they said 4th gens). I haven't found 'that song' yet from this gens.

In all seriousness, this song was a HIT when it released in 2011, launching T-ara to the same level as SNSD, KARA, 2NE1, and Wonder Girls, and making them a household name even among the general public.
So, the man there seems to be in good relationship with the girls since he lets them into the disco, even though they're under-age (high school age) I believe.
A fun story is that the composer, Shinsadong Tiger, was actually procrastinating writing the song, and had nothing written when he had a meeting with the CEO. When asked to give an update on the song, he essentially improvised on the spot after seeing a "roly-poly" toy on the CEO's desk, and that's how the song was born XD

-Eunjung, the one with the short black hair (love that bob cut)
-Jiyeon, the one with the elaborate hair that's all done up
-Hyomin, the one with the heart glasses
-Soyeon, the one with her hair up and in the white shirt (also, the green pants)
-Qri, the one with the pigtails
-Boram, the one who gets alone time with the guy XD
-Hwayoung, the one with the long ponytail
plus the fact this era actually t-ara is the main producer of their live stages and its them who bring their own props and outfts lol

Ah a time when I really enjoyed girl group music in Kpop... pretty rare now. T-ARA's Roly Poly and Sexy Love are a couple of my favorite songs.
I remember being a child when this came out. I used to sneak into my mother’s room to use her computer and play it on repeat just to learn the choreography. This song is one of the OG’s that brought me into the Kpop world! I can’t believe it’s been 9 years (or so) already!

This mv reaction brought me so many good memories from 2011, when I was in high school and my my best friend obsessed all our classmates with SHINee's Ring Ding Dong and I obsessed them with Roly Poly, eventhoug she's ELF and I´m SONE. I miss so much that time when Kpop fans appreciate talent and artisity. Nowadays, fandoms focus more on freezing other artists vi3ws, rather than supporting and caring for their idols.
