i grew up living on bayboro harbor, and salt creek, st.petersburg in my youth, i would watch the hurricane/s as they traveled north, and up the west coast of florida, drain all of the water from tampa bay except from the shipping lanes, and as the hurricane/s would pass tampa bay, the wind action would fill the bay with water, and would burst way over high tide and flood into the streets, at the time (early 1970's) i lived in a large house built in the 1800's that was built five feet off of the ground on pedestals, during flood events, the ocean would pass beneath our house, so the old timers knew, especially living on the water in florida, that house is long gone, but the memories of hurricanes and water completely surrounding the house remain, stay safe ya'll😊

Earlier in the week it was possible to hit the panhandle, then it was west coast of FL, yesterday they were certain that Tampa Bay would take a direct hit, now it is supposedly going into Sarasota or Venice.
