I love the Macbook Pro 2015 models, my favorite model, the magnetic charger + the lightning logo, the classic keyboard without the gimmick touchbar. If Apple release similair model, with those details, I would definetly go for it.

The MacBook pro 2015 never had the first generation butterfly keyboard. It was introduced on the 12 inch MACBOOK in 2015 and then on the MacBook pros in 2016. Also, they have already switched back to scissor switches on the new 16 inch MacBook pro that just came out in October 2019. Just thought I would correct you so you don't put incorrect information out to the public:)

MagSafe, ports, scissor keyboard with inverted T and without touch bar, Retina display, glowing logo, great SSD: the 2015 MacBook Pro (13" & 15") is the latest generation to have all these features together. This generation is very reliable and that makes its success still today.
that depends actually what kind of coding do. If you’re light coder using Xcode or VS. Even MacBook Air would run it well. But if you’re game developer that use a lot of graphic 15” is good.

It literally works and runs as smooth as my moms 2019 16in . Although the only thing I use it for is web browsing and school / entertainment, it does exceptional, will last a few more years easy
For that it’s better to get the new MacBook air.(If you really want a Macbook). I wouldn’t recommend to buy a 5-6 year old used laptop. If you don’t necessarily need a Mac get look at the Dell Xps 13. Or some other non Apple laptops.

The only gripe about mine is that the early 2015 MacBook Pro 13" has keyboard and trackpad malfunctions which I found was really common. My solution to this was buying a replacement ribbon connector on Amazon and it went back to normal afterwards. Other than that though, she's ole reliable.

Yes, I would if it is a A1502 from 2015. My wife has one and it’s the last year you can upgrade the PCIe NVME solid hard drive. It comes with their proprietary one with Mac pins, but now you can upgrade by using an adaptor that you can buy at microcenter or online. I upgraded my wife’s to a 2TB m.2 PCIe NVME for dirt cheap. You just need to run high Sierra version of OS X or higher. It was pretty easy to do. Lots of tutorials on TH-cam.

I was planning on holding on to my MBP 15” 2015 for another couple of years given that the Apple Silicon transition is going to start soon. However, my MacBook has been showing signs of failure mostly in the connection to displays and such. On it’s own, it operates well enough but it’s still showing it’s age everyday. I’m mostly just waiting to see what Apple does with the 16” MBP in their upcoming October event before I make the purchase. Hopefully those stimulus checks kick in before then lol ;)

I just bought macbook pro 13 2015, i5, 8gb, 512gb ssd in 700$. This is my first mac machine and i was using Hp elite dragonfly x360 before this. I feel its screen quality is much better than dragonfly which is 2020 model and i5 8th gen. It is bit heavier but still, I think it is better than 2020 windows laptop.
Nice and objective video on your experience and reasons why you kept the 2015 13 inch Macbook Pro, I have 1 myself for a long time and it never fails me in almost anything, though it lost its so called little circle leg pegs under it due to its glue being loosened via excessive performance heating of it. And it can even support the latest MacOS software version MacOCS Monterey which shows how much power, compatability, and longevity that very 2015 Macbook Pro can really have to this day. :)
I still have that model and will hang onto it until it cannot receive updates. The keyboard and display are great; it is plenty fast enough for my daily tasks (mostly writing, e-mail, web surfing); it seldom gets hot or has fan blasting. The one thing that annoys me slightly is that it takes nearly a minute to boot up, but it seems to me that anything under a minute is still pretty good. I take great care of it both externally and internally. It’s actually kind of fun to optimize or maximize an old machine, and this one seems to have plenty of good life left in it.

This one, it is even better than the 2018 Air at half the price. The 2018 Air has basically the same display, and a similar 14nm i5 processor. But the 2015 MBP has a larger battery so longer battery life and way more ports. The 2017 Air was non-retina and should be forgotten.
I still use it too and I like it very much. Very solid machine. all of my friends windows laptops from that time are dying while mine is still running strong :D
Anyone that spent the price of this thing in 2015 on a windows computer has a much more powerful and still fully functional machine, they use the same SSD, the same processors, the same RAM, you just pay twice as much for the same thing through Mac. You cannot upgrade your 8GB RAM version on your MacBook which is the only thing that makes it out of date, on a windows machine that is unheard of. You also have a much less powerful graphics card than almost every windows computer from 2015 😂
Cool, but not on par with the 13, as that version had a more modern and cooler processor. Also 15" ones tend to be overrated and thus overpriced. A 13 can be had for 300 bucks where a less great 15 can demand 500-600 with ease.

These videos always seem silly, 2015 is not very long on modern hardware. Hardware doesn't double in power every 18 months like it used to anymore. My 2013 refurb didn't feel much different than a new version. I just bought a 2015 15.4 for the screen more than anything else but the power will be nice.

Sure depends on which software you use. I use Solidwork with Bootcamp. It’s functional but I wouldn’t compare to desktop performance with graphic card.

It runs the lastest, but shines with Mojave as it has less GPU bloat. I have no programs that don't work on Mojave, so I installed that.

Check your battery life cycle. If its over 800 or more you may get a new battery for your MacBook.

4k webcams 30fps cost $10 to $20 on Amazon Prime. If the internal camera sucks you can always attach one.

You can do 1080 editing on a MacMini 2009.... The best computer you can get for 75 bucks.

Nice and objective video on your experience and reasons why you kept the 2015 13 inch Macbook Pro, I have 1 myself for a long time and it never fails me in almost anything, though it lost its so called little circle leg pegs under it due to its glue being loosened via excessive performance heating of it. And it can even support the latest MacOS software version MacOCS Monterey which shows how much power, compatability, and longevity that very 2015 Macbook Pro can really have to this day. :)

@@hamzaedd3602 I edited all the videos on my channel with this laptop, it’s pretty smooth considering it’s age.
I still have that model and will hang onto it until it cannot receive updates. The keyboard and display are great; it is plenty fast enough for my daily tasks (mostly writing, e-mail, web surfing); it seldom gets hot or has fan blasting. The one thing that annoys me slightly is that it takes nearly a minute to boot up, but it seems to me that anything under a minute is still pretty good. I take great care of it both externally and internally. It’s actually kind of fun to optimize or maximize an old machine, and this one seems to have plenty of good life left in it.

I have a macbook pro 2015 ! But when i try to download adobe photoshop it wont fully download. Someone told me its because theres no space in the memory of the laptop but even after i erased everything it wont download? Do i need a macbook with more gb?

Specially, as Apple has fixed most of the problems with their MacBook series and the 2015 MacBook Pro won't be much good for heavy workload. But if you're planning to complete lite day-to-day task and moderate video editing then the model would be suffice.

Macbook pro 2015 or MacBook air 2017??
This one, it is even better than the 2018 Air at half the price. The 2018 Air has basically the same display, and a similar 14nm i5 processor. But the 2015 MBP has a larger battery so longer battery life and way more ports. The 2017 Air was non-retina and should be forgotten.

Anyone that spent the price of this thing in 2015 on a windows computer has a much more powerful and still fully functional machine, they use the same SSD, the same processors, the same RAM, you just pay twice as much for the same thing through Mac. You cannot upgrade your 8GB RAM version on your MacBook which is the only thing that makes it out of date, on a windows machine that is unheard of. You also have a much less powerful graphics card than almost every windows computer from 2015 😂

Cool, but not on par with the 13, as that version had a more modern and cooler processor. Also 15" ones tend to be overrated and thus overpriced. A 13 can be had for 300 bucks where a less great 15 can demand 500-600 with ease.

MacBook Pro 2015 might last another 1-2 years. But for me that’s all that’s needed to get a coding job and I can get a new one

These videos always seem silly, 2015 is not very long on modern hardware. Hardware doesn't double in power every 18 months like it used to anymore. My 2013 refurb didn't feel much different than a new version. I just bought a 2015 15.4 for the screen more than anything else but the power will be nice.
Great video! I have the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), 2.7 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3. I used mine for video editing (iMovie at the moment) about 1 video a week...I'd say that's light editing. I wish I had more memory and storage....1. is there ANY way to upgrade the memory??? 2. Sometimes, the computer goes to 'sleep' if I lift it up and then turns back on when I set it down...it doesn't happen a lot but what would cause such a thing?

You can upgrade. I just upgraded my wife’s model A1502 from 2015 to 2TB SSD using an adaptor. Dirt cheap. You just need High Sierra OS X or higher. Here’s a video how.

refineme yes you can upgrade your SSD but not your ram.
RAM is soldered to the motherboard so it’s not a plug and play upgrade, unfortunately.

Sure depends on which software you use. I use Solidwork with Bootcamp. It’s functional but I wouldn’t compare to desktop performance with graphic card.
