This video is money, even for 2024! Dr. Greg's ability to so effectively show what he is explaining is an incredible visual

Love the video, Greg! The use of the lead leg is "pivotal" (pun intended haha) in power production and I cringe when people try and get rid of it! Professionally I have found many players suffer from a lack of Lead leg FAIR, secondary to compensatory axial & Pelvic orientations driven from an extension bias. This causes their COM (centre of mass) to shift towards their toes limiting system variability. We will see many anteriorly tilted pelvis's (belt buckle angling down), as well as chronic plantar flexors, hindering ankle ROM in this state as the system is trying to survive the task at hand (swinging a club). Most times by simply assessing ribcage/pelvis relationships, we can prescribe a more refined exercise to alleviate compensatory appendicular (think arm and leg joints) issues like the hip and ankle conditions Greg mentions in the video. Before someone googles "ankle/hip stretching" and starts strapping a band around their joints for a quick fix I urge viewers to find an upskilled trainer or therapist to take a deeper look at what I mentioned above. That's my 2 cents TPI, Keep the education coming.

What do you think of having your spine tilt just slightly towards the target at the top of your backswing? I find this makes it easier to get your center of mass over your front foot. If I lean too far away from the house target at top of back swing it seems more difficult

Question: is a left hip replacement a big issue for external hip rotation? Thanks!

I haven’t seen a single armature golfer, including myself, who once weight gets transferred to the trail leg get it back to the lead side properly with the correct sequence. I started seeing other very athletic golfers with the same issue. I finally gave up trying after years and multiple lessons with Pga pros( btw none of whom could effectively communicate how to transfer my weight either… I’m assuming its an issue for them as well) and went with the Stack and Tilt method( saved my game!). With the technology in clubs today average golfers are way better off keeping their weight forward and sliding. We can leave all that weight shifting for the pros! It’s an extreme athletic move in my opinion…. Up there with wingsuit flying…. ✌🏽
