The best thing about Arun Dias Bandaranaike has been that, despite being so well versed in the language of English, he doesn't attempt to show off in terms of his diction and phraseology. More often than not, he strikes the perfect balance between the simplicity, the clarity and the accuracy in most aspects without compromising the elegance of communication too, better than most others around. Adheres to the standard pronunciation properly, with the proper attention on the punctuation too, without jabbering quite unnecessarily complicated statements filled with unnecessarily complex terms adopting any fake accent/s too. Hence, though he still maintains a certain distinct level of profoundness in terms of his overall speech, the message remains uncluttered and precisely to the point, which happens to be the hallmark of a great communicator ....
Wow..I still remember Mr. Arun Dias Bandaranayeka as a child. A very articulate, attentive and poised personality and oratorical master piece. What graceful aging 🙏
@@asha.ranatunga2581 he's a consumate gentleman. When I was learning to dot my i's and cross my t's as a youngster in Kandy, I'd eagerly await his nature programs on Rupawahini. With his distinct unruly straw hat and the jungle green Mitsubishi 4DR5 in the backdrop, Mr.Arun Diaz was a weekly anticipated delight on TV. His kind is a dying breed today. We would be hard pressed to find individuals of his calibre today. I distinctly remember a "daintee sweets" advert that he voiced that has stuck in my mind to this very day. I miss Kandy. I miss the old ways of life. I must admit I was born into the wrong generation.
@@englishforsrilanka2535 I am originally from Kandy as well. 😊❤. Studied at Hillwood college . Miss kandy way too much. Cant agree more. Arun's caliber is a dying breed for sure. You rekindled my memory. I vaguely remember the Dantee toffee advertisement. Omg..you have such precise recollections.
Both are professional hosts. When two in same profession, same era & same rope this type of interference will occurred. That’ s the regular scenario .I believe kumar must have had a lot of questions to ask in a short time.
I have seen so meny people blaming kumar for interrupting but being a very short kind of an interview it is understandable that he cannot let his guests go for lenghty explanations on a single question.both are really great personalities you meet rarely nowadays.
I wanted to see Kumar get him down for this show In fact I made a request via a FB DM sometime back. Anyways its great to see the legend himself Mr Arun on Aperitifs with Kumar de Silva
We were just out of school ... Of course this personality was inspirational for me, as I had just begun to see the marvels of language of English ! Of course in his narrations, there was something between the lines, his tones and those brought a huge spectrum, hinted with some British touch, a wider background to subject he was attending ! ... I can say he shaped a generation, but I think those isolated this land... And maybe like Mr.Arun Dias Bandarnayake doesn't prefer to be on today's bogus media which are called 'National' ....Thanks for letting us see the profound gentleman of media ! 👍
Great example to the youngsters . Glad to see you after a long time. Respect you, that strong personality so much. Wish you good health , all the happiness and long life!
Any word or sentence coming out of him tells us something important and inspires us to take him as a role model.what a lot of knowledge and a store of precious ideas.A giant of knowledge of our era.
Happy to see you. Mr Arun you look the same since I have known. Your eloquent speaking style and your smartness are still the same . Another legendary character in S L.
I still remember his programme called "world asia" which made my childhood so joyful and Saturday 6:30 pm our whole family was waiting to watch that 💖💖💖💖 still remember 🙏🙏🙏
Kumar is hopeless and rude. Never let Arun or anyone he interviews speak but cut in like a jack in the box. Pretty awe full that he has not learnt any of that in his long career, perhaps because he was more into chatty musical programs most part of it.👎👎👎👎

Good conversation! Really wish Kumar had not interrupted so much..
Unmatched vocal personality..
Please subtitle this video.. :D
It annoys me that Kumar ALWAYS interrupts his guests. I can only imagine how the guest feels.
Exactly. Freaking annoying
Fully agreed..!
Kumar please learn how to listen to the other person and let him finish. Then ask your bloody question. It’s annoying how you interrupt.
I agree. It's annoying to interrupt an articulate and interesting man like Arun.
ඔබ තුමා කල කදමල්ල වැඩසටහන අද වගේ මතකයි❤
Why Kumar, you do not let the guests finish their sentence?
Disgusting
that voice...........
oh my... Nowadays even senior media professionals forget basics...
LET YOUR GUEST SPEAK....
You can moderate once he finishes.. big thumbs down Kumar
Good show Kumar. But you should let your guests to enjoy the show and not to interrupt.
I remember 25 years ago my teachers speaking the same ENGLISH.
This era is unlucky in every sense.
The legend
Sadly this legend was born in here otherwise he could be like Larry King in some other country as an internationally well known person..
Kumar could take some pointers from Lahiru Mudalige.
mr arun's appearance remind my late grandfarther😑😑😑
why he interrupts him so much
Kumar effed it up..
Kelanimulla is not a village man. When Kumar said, you hail from a village? I thought he is from Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa or somethin like that. 😂
Let your guest speak!
He interrupts the guest always..does he ever read these comments i wonder.
Why are you disturbing him my man? What nonsense just let him Express himself. What an interesting talk it is?
Bring your dictionary guys, \ \
Yes true😂👍
Why kumma always interrupting. It's so annoying 😐
What class. Name a more eloquent gentleman 👇🏼

How ever much you comment on his weakness of interrupting the interviewee Kumar shows no improvement.

Omg Kumar is so irritating... this is definitely not for him
The presenter trying to be lord fakeer
C'mon Kumar stop acting like rookie presenter. Let the fricken guest talk for God's sake..what's wrong with you man ?
