agree - do it again, and drop Jefferson's add woodford. love me some double oaked, and store pick double oaked can even be better. I've just heard so many negative things in general about Jefferson's, i've never even tasted it or bought a bottle. I wish i could get my hand on some Michters, because 1910 and double oaked is my jam!
"Four whiskeys kinda blow out the palate..." Definitely agree. I have to wonder how legit Fred Minnick's blinds are when he's rolling through 20 or more different bottles.
Actual blindfolds were needed on this one. I could identify the 1910 and the Michter's immediately, just by the colors. I do really enjoy the 1910, and I think it is going to be a favorite winter dram here in Iowa. Thanks CP!!
I too would have liked woodford DO in group..but I just opened a 1910 and loving it. Dutch, I too blend by adding toasted to other untrusted drams. Makes most things richer.
Nice timing boys, I did the same thing last week except sub Woodford DO (a "pick" in my case) for the Jefferson's. Interesting comparison, some very different notes across the bottles and some that are present in all 4. 1910 was definitely the outlier of the bunch in terms of profile, maybe because that second barrel is charred far deeper than the other 3?
Nice show! New to bourbon/ whiskey/ scotch in the last two months. I have about forty bottles so far (went all in) I really like the 1910 and I have picked it out of the whiskey tubers videos by the dark rich color almost every time! Love your channel, new subscriber! Really like the drink through videos!
Great content again guys. I agree with Tyler A that Woodford Double should have been in this flight. BTW, the 1910 isn't always available around me, but it is getting better.
Nice review, would like additional info on the process of making toasted oak products and why you decided to do this review ( other than revenge ). New process, growing market trend, typical category flavors notes compared to traditional bourbons, etc.
Interested to see Woodford DO included like others... others might be interested to hear about the difference between 1910 and DO, light toast/heavy char vs heavy toast/light char. I really like both but think I've only recently discovered I like more toast, i.e. the DO. The 1910 has similar caramel but it's more of a burnt caramel because of the extra char I think
I am a HUGE fan of 1910, and I'm not at all surprised. For those wishing Woodford DO was in the mix, well, it's not a toasted barrel, but even if we go with re-barreled, as a category, it doesn't stand up to the 1910. Don't get me wrong, I REALLY LIKE the Woodford, but it is kind of a one-trick pony with its pancakes and maple syrup, whereas the 1910 has far more complexity. Try it once and get bananas Foster, try it again and experience the espresso and dark chocolate notes. In all honesty, even though it may be blasphemy in the bourbon world, I reach for 1910 more often than 1920 (both of which have a permanent place on my bar). 1910 for the win.
There should be more Toasted Barrel choices out there, they do have a big cult following. I never had Elijah but do love 1910 and WFDO. Cheers as always.
1910 is one of my favorites. Tried woodford double oaked and didn't care for it . I also really like the 1920. My splurge whiskey is joseph Magnus, and my favorite bourbo.
Excellent review, I am happy to say that I am about 3/4 done with my bottle of 1910! Question now, is do I dive into my Woodford double Oak or do I go pick up another bottle of 1910! I think I am a winner either way..😂
When I saw the Mitchers I was a little upset that you included a unicorn. But I will give you thumbs up because the bundle I purchased at Costco fo $59.99 which included a 750 ml of OF 100 proof won.
1910 is in my top 3! Hated the EC toasted-a burnt flavor to me. 🤷♂️ Haven't seen a Michter's. Not much interest in the Jeffersons as I like the old version but find it thin.
Blind tasting is always the best way as confirmation bias is taken out of the equation. Marketing wank and visual cues are removed and the taste has to stand up on its own.
Like your show hate the music! Just too loud. I watch at night and cringe every time the music comes on cause your voices are low low compared. My poor neighbors.
The second barrel finishes are here to stay! Sad to see Woodford Double Oaked didn’t make the cut for this group. Great job as always
Yeah - we'll need to do a second round with the Woodford!
I've never had any of these, but I love having that Woodford in my collection. I was just about to ask how these might compare to the Woodford.
Found Woodford Double Oak to be pretty boring to my palate. Picked up a bottle at retail a year to 18 months ago. Has it changed at all?

I’m saying Dillion will remember the taste of the EC and deduct points just to spite.
I liked the graphical annotations to keep track of why liked what and who guessed what. More like this please

This is the best whiskey channel on TH-cam
You guys are the best. The editing of the video is top notch. You guys rock.
Thanks! Cheers!
I like it when an easily found bottle wins out over limited releases. Good video!
I’d be interested to see the comparison to Woodford Double Oaked. Nice video!
I too would have liked woodford DO in group..but I just opened a 1910 and loving it.
Dutch, I too blend by adding toasted to other untrusted drams. Makes most things richer.
Out of all of them, I enjoy the 1910 the most as well! Cheers!
No Woodford Reserve Double Oak? BLASPHEMY!
Love these blinds, keep up the great content as always!
Thanks for the reviews. I know now what to pick!
Great episode!
Bottle that blend too! 👍😊

Fantastic!!! I love it when an every day available find wins in a blind tasting! 👍🏼👍🏼

Cheers! Glad you found us
I love the 1910, but have not had the others. So now I’m thinking, meh, I don’t have to go looking, if I get fine if not fine. 😃
These comparison videos are awesome, you guys should consider doing one with barrel strength bottles
Definitely want to do some more blinds like that!

Sticking with my woodford double oaked.
I would've liked to have seen Woodford Double Oak instead of Jeffersons

Great and useful clip!

What was the blend at the end?

I forgot i had another bottle of a double oak. Its Lucky Seven Holiday Toast 115 proof really good holiday bourbon. Check it out.
1910 is one of my favorites. Tried woodford double oaked and didn't care for it . I also really like the 1920. My splurge whiskey is joseph Magnus, and my favorite bourbo.
Love 1910, haven't had any of the others.
All due respect, the omission of the painfully obvious Woodford Double Oaked in this video is hurting you guys.
Does woodford double oak count as toasted?
Excellent review, I am happy to say that I am about 3/4 done with my bottle of 1910! Question now, is do I dive into my Woodford double Oak or do I go pick up another bottle of 1910! I think I am a winner either way..😂
How many drams a day do you guys drink? Stay safe guys!
When I saw the Mitchers I was a little upset that you included a unicorn. But I will give you thumbs up because the bundle I purchased at Costco fo $59.99 which included a 750 ml of OF 100 proof won.
Just my humble palate, but I have yet to find a Jefferson's product that I like enough to buy.
No matter what I try, always like 1910 the best. Was disappointed to finally find the EC toasted and wasn’t nearly as good as OF
Mmm...toasty
1910 is in my top 3! Hated the EC toasted-a burnt flavor to me. 🤷♂️ Haven't seen a Michter's. Not much interest in the Jeffersons as I like the old version but find it thin.
1910 and 1920 are not good. Please everyone stay away - save yourself the trouble. Trust me, they are not good, nope not at all.
Definitely not good at all. Let me take them off the shelves for you, for safety... horrible things!
