Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

The big house that was closed off, which you see at 9:25 in the video, is the most expensive house ever sold in Sweden. The Spotify founder Daniel Ek purchased it in 2020 for about 550-570 million Swedish kronor. That is around 60 to 63 million USD.

I love the house at 19:53. It's charming and not to big, not too small. It's so fun seeing huge houses but I'd rather live in a charming normal sized house than a modern style mansion.

I would probably get lost in my own home if I lived in one of those, but the peacefulness is beautiful. Though also too detached from reality. Thanks for showing us Stockholm from different perspectives!

You have to go for a walk in Nacka, the Southern part of Saltsjö-Boo. You can walk very close to the water besides Lännersta sundet all the way out to Boo-badet in Baggensfjärden.
Then you have the fancy houses on the hill on one side and the sea on the other side. The free path is actually in their backyard. I ts called ”lugna promenaden”.

Wowww! Just wowww! Lovely homes. But cleaning is my concern if I get to win a house like that with even 10 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms! I would rather have a tiny luxury home with a big lot around so I can plant edible and decorative ones. But no man is an island, of course I would still love privacy and a quiet neighborhood. You are so cool, just by asking where are the big houses here😃. A certified vlogger is on his way!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻

This gave us a pretty good impression of the district. Rich and famous people everywhere are concerned about their privacy and security, I wouldn't want to live like that, although sometimes being apart from the neighbours would be a nice luxury.... lol

The richest municipalities in Sweden are:
    Danderyd (Danderyd, Djursholm) in Stockholm
    Lomma (Lomma/Bjärred) in Scania/Skåne
Vellinge (Vellinge, Höllviken, Skanör/Falsterbo, Ljunghusen) in Scania/Skåne
    Täby in Stockholm
    Lidingö in Stockholm
Usually the richest of the richest live in Östermalm, Djursholm, in the countryside (manor, castle in the Mälardals region, Stockholm region, Östergötland and Västergötland and Skåne/Scania, the latter being the most castle-dense regIon in the country) or one of the regions in Skåne.
The richest Stockholmers own summer properties in Båstad and Torekov in Skåne, which traditionally is a summer's location with its tennis tournament.

the car you saw in your walk. it is a Cadillac basically our (american) own version of a bmw or mercedes-bens. good cars but they devalued in price like crazy, so it better to buy them used lol. Also i was surprised to see a coop in that town. I thought they would have their own version of whole foods

In other countries, those houses would be inside a closed neighbourhood where only the owners and their guests would be allowed to get in, protected by guardians with weapons and dogs.

Great video, super fun to see. But you're wrong when you talk about famous artists, actors and politicians. They can't afford these houses. The people who live here are old money or CEO's, bank directors, investors and large business owners.

There are some Swedish artists who live in Djursholm though, like Björn Ulvaeus, Charlotte Perelli, Magnus Uggla, Loa Falkman, and Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell from Swedish House Mafia lives there too. Tove Lo grew up there. Marie Fredriksson from Roxette lived there, before she passed away. Also some sports people like Robin Söderling, Andreas Andersson and Mats Sundin lives there. But yeah, a lot of the houses are owned by investors, ceo:s etc.

What's nice is that the area, despite it's wealth, does not appear to be a gated community (closed off to the public).

    • @Asa...S
      @Asa...S 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Gated communities aren´t really a thing in Sweden. They are building the first one in Småland in Southern Sweden though, called Strandudden it´s supposed to be ready in 2022, but I read that they seem to struggle to get the houses there sold.
Too a Swede it´s odd to not be able to walk everywhere (unless it´s on someone's private yard), not to be able to walk on a street, or along a beach or by a lake is to us really strange and unusual.
