    I have the TS1 irons and they are ok. I bought a TS3 7 iron and there is no comparison! The TS3 is the best feeling iron I have hit in over 50 years of golf!

    I play these in 4/5/6 as a combo with the new ts4. I updated from the ts1. Im 51 and currently a 4.8 hcp. The ts3 are buttery and sound more muted and solid and IMO feel softer than the ts1. They have a slightly lower trajectory than the ts1 but still generate plenty of spin. I generally am a fade player but these clubs currently are just slightly draw biased for me, but no complaints. Again my opinion , while i dont know that the ts3 has a "like" competitor for a big brand, i feel that The ts4 is designed to compete with the TM 7MB and are every bit as good. IMO Maltby makes some of the best clubs on the market and honestly after playing TM and Ping for yrs i cant see a reason i would ever go back. Btw...i play their TSW wedges as well and these are just as good as anything on the market today. Here is my full bag... Cobra LTDxLS driver, Cobra LTDx 3w, Maltby KE4 3hybrid, 4/5/6 TS3, 7-G TS4, 52/56 wedges.

    Thank you for this review! The Ts3 look really good seem forgiving which is what I like. I have been getting Maltby’s catalog for years, and am fascinating with their products, I do tinker around and replace my own grips and shafted a few clubs as well!
    I am playing the PXG 0211XCOR2 reg., set, which feel really good for a cast club. I also have a set of Ben Hogan forged Apex Edge vintage 2002ish, really nice in a stiff shaft, traditional lofts, with some off-set, game improvement looking top line, but feel excellent!

    9:14 Now I really was digging these and was considering stepping up from my TE Forged, but ooph, that top line is really chunky looking to me. Part of why I love the TE Forged so much was that top line... I wish they did a little bit of a grind on the TS3 to at last give the illusion it isn't as thick.

    It was very tough to choose from the new Maltby line, but I ended up choosing the TS4. I have not tried the TS3, but if you were on the fence about whether you can play a blade, I urge you to try the TS4. I have the old TS1, and it’s a decent iron, but the TS4 is so forgiving for a blade and has superior feel than the old TS1. I had initially intended to get the new TS1 IM, but when I looked at the MPF, the TS4 was higher, so I chose the TS4.
    I’ll never buy mainstream manufactured irons again.

    • @fit2yougolf926

      The sole of the TS3 is not overly wide, about the same as the TE Forged but a little wider than the TS1 (and the TS1-M I would imagine). I would say that it is ideal, but of course that is subjective!
      I think it might be helpful to decide if you want a solid forging or the hollow head design. If I had to choose one over the other for me, it would be the hollow version.

    Just my two cents worth....
    As long as the TE forged is available, and you are concerned about value, I think it's the best deal out there for a FORGED, very forgiving, very, very good head, especially if you buy it through their Pak deals. It ends up being less than $20 per head. The Recoil shaft is included in one of their Pak deals, and I think that too is a very good shaft for the money.

    As always, I really like your down to earth review of Maltby products. This TS3 review is very encouraging - I always liked the feeling of forged irons and when a dose of forgiveness is added, it has to be a win-win. I happened to notice in an opening graphic that you are using a Garmin R10 launch monitor for shot data. Do you like it? How does it compare to others you have used? I recently was gifted on for Father’s Day (lucky me!) and I was wondering if you have ever tested it’s accuracy with short flight practice balls (if so, what type/brand?). Thanks in advance - John

    • @fit2yougolf926
      @fit2yougolf926  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks John. Regarding the R10, I like it a lot, but preferred my Mevo to it for testing purposes until that started to give me inaccurate spin and club speed numbers. The R10 slightly underestimates carry compared to the Mevo, and I think this is because it estimates spin vs directly measuring it.
      I really like the R10 for practice, especially when hitting into a net (it is very good if you have 8ft of ball flight). This is because I can see a simulated ball flight, and get face and path numbers (although these are estimates). It is important to make sure it is level and aligned for best results).
