Hey there, thanks for checking the Stacked Golf TH-cam channel! We’re Jon and Ashley, a husband and wife team of amateur golfers looking to share our love of the game with our viewers. Our goal is to inspire more golfers along with people who have never played before to get out on the golf course and have fun regardless of their age, budget, or skill level.
We find all kinds of golf deals at garage sales, thrift store, flea markets, auctions, online marketplaces, and more to show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to start playing golf or upgrade your current golf bag. Along with our thrifting adventures, we specialize in reviewing the cheapest golf gear, gimmick clubs, As Seen On TV golf clubs, crazy training aids, and more to see if they are worth checking out to improve your golf game. You will also find course vlogs, golf challenges, and budget golf course reviews from our travels. We both love the game of golf and want to share our adventures with you.
Here’s a little about us: While most kids were watching cartoons, Jon was studying the Golf Channel to learn how to play and improve his golf game. He spent most of his childhood on the golf course and loves trying out new golf clubs and gear. Jon also loves to fish and kayak. If he could he would spend all his time on the golf course or catching giant bass.
Ashley is a beginner golfer with no athletic background whatsoever before attempting to pick up the game of golf. Her unnatural ability to read the green has made her a great putter but the rest of the game is still a work in progress and we hope you enjoy watching her improve on the channel. Along with golfing and budget shopping she also enjoys trying out and creating new recipes and using Jon as her taste testing guinea pig.

Let them get a little higher of a sub count and he could get an invite. I think the main problem is that they're a golf thrift channel that VERY occasionally shows actual golfing versus being strictly a hole by hole golf channel.

Having played there many times I can say I’m impressed by how well you hit it. And then add clubs you’ve never touched before! I don’t remember what day I was there but have played every day this week. I played the front nine of the par three course at bunker hill this morning.

My mate has a set of the 101t's. Definitely a great club for newish players, or players with slower swing speeds. They don't look like giant ridiculous GI irons, but they definitely play like them. I reckon the 301cb's would suit you a lot better

The hardest thing about new irons is learning the yardages/gaps. It's even harder when many manufacturers have very string lofts. I've seen sets with "pitching" wedges with 42° of loft (back in the day, that was an 8 iron).
Update - Just checked and the Takomo 101T pitching wedge is spec'd at 46°. In the range (45°-47°) for "better player" irons.

Jon is a super nice guy but he would basically get waxed on the golf course by pretty much every TH-cam male golfer with a channel. Don't confuse someone hitting balls on the range with competing in an actual golf tournament.

@@bumbaiul3arn370he didn’t hit a single green in the first 3-4 holes…. He lied after the two abysmal chips. He thinned a shot 40 yards short of the green and held his pose and claimed it rolled on when infact it did not…

Sup, John!! Man ], it’s so awesome to see your channel has grown so much since I first joined!! Ashley has improved so much! Have you tried the giga golf blades? They’re based out of Tampa. I have a set so if you’re ever in Clermont, about 30 minutes from Orlando, let me know and I’ll let you check ‘em out! They’re about $375…for forged blades!!

I got a set with the KBS Your Lite stiff shafts. I just put my Mizuno 921 Forged in my spare bag and I'm playing the Takomos. Now, they aren't as soft as a Mizuno forged iron bit the are longer than my 921's. Sorck swing 7 iron with the 921 for me is 177. Playing Aerotech Steelfibre i95 stiff in them. The Takomo 7 iron for me goes 184 for me. Stock swing. 8 iron is right at 170. 9 iron is a hair over 155 or so. PW is almost 140. Changed my gap wedge from a 52 to a 50 and my sand wedge from a 56 to a 54 to close the gap to normal between my pw and the rest of the wedges. I adjusted to the clubs. They're awesome..golf courses got shorter.

You should make another video with the Takomo 201s. You are a great iron striker 101s are more for high hcp/beginners. 201s aren't as long but have a great forged feel to them. I really like my Takomo 201s and I am a 14 HCP. Cheers

The video I’ve been waiting for, I’ve had the 101ts for about 4 months now and mine actually do not go long so that is weird that your p wedge did, I love them though, sleek look very forgiving and the price is great

I bought a set of the Takomo 101T irons. I traded them in a short while later to 2nd Swing. They looked beautiful and they performed well. However, as a hollow cast clubhead without any dampening material present, I found them to be harsh at impact. I’m no club snob, I promise. Current gamer irons are Srixon Z585s. Every time I hit the 101T, it felt like contact was well outside the sweet spot. It took me a while to figure out that contact was harsh anywhere. I’m certain that polymer goo inside the cavity would solve the problem. Great company, Takomo.

I love the vice pro drip in the black and green. It's all I play and to me I think it goes farther then the rest.
I think Sub 70 uses the same manufacturer. Look at the sub 70 699's from 2 yrs ago. Also way to rock the Detroit Tigers hat Jon

Play Pine woods every Sunday and judge my score by the amount of balls I lose. Glad to see you back in Indiana supporting the local courses.
My problem with the 101's would be the loft gapping. 2 1/2 degrees between the 4&5, 3 degrees between the 5&6, 4 degrees between the 6&7, 4 degrees between the 7& 8, 5 degrees between the 8&9, and 5 degrees between the 9&PW (44 degree PW, same as many conventional loft 9 irons). The additional 4 wedges clock in at 48-60 in 4 degree increments. My hand picked clubs have 4 degree gaps from driver to 7 iron and 5 degree gaps 8-LW. The rest of their clubheads are much more sensible choices.

Would love to see more rounds out of you honestly. I like both parts of finding good prices but Love watching you both play. I'm in Florida, won't say where. But, definitely play more rounds... you both have good swings!
Ash...I know how you feel about your 9 wood...I just picked up an 11 wood and I love it! Changed my game!
I have those exact irons and was custom fitted. They are game improvement irons and have aggressive lofts and not suited for those using traditional lofts. However they feel great to me and I love them.
Love the Old English 'D' Detroit tiger cap Takomo is making a name for themselves. When I decide to give up my PXG 0311 irons, I'll look into getting set of Takomos.

How long did they take to go through handling and shipping?

Mine came super fast, it was a stock set and i ordered them end of august last year. They arrived about a week later!

Watching this video I was like man that course looks so familiar and then you said your location. I seen you guys garage sale thing but not golf. Good stuff and small world. Go up the highway there to T.H and try those irons at H.L'S. My tokamos are coming on Friday and that's where I'll be trying them out!!
I have a cataract starting to dim my eyesight so I’ve been using the green Vice Soft. They go far, feel nice and I’ve been playing better.

There are so many DTC that look alike. These, Sub 70, Haywood....I see more pop up every day on Facebook. I am guessing it is the same factories making these with some white label options and maybe a couple of design differences. But overall, the ones I have tried, they all feel the same to me. I was close to buying the Haywood but ended up with Titleist t100s due to shaft options I wanted. And they feel crazy good. Bought through my club's pro shop and they were only $150 more than what Haywoods or Sub 70 would have cost. Yes, my club pro is awesome on discounts!

Vice pro plus is longest ball off the tee with driver and 85 mph swing. Comparison done with over 2 dozen of the top brands, all with 85 mph swing speed. Just some food for thought!
